Bao Gong Lake, located in the Gulou District of Kaifeng City, within the ancient city walls of the Song Dynasty, in the southwest corner of the ancient city, stretches from northwest to southeast, resembling a reclining gourd. Yingbin Road, a north-south road, crosses the lake in the western part of its central section, while Bao Gong Lake South Road runs to the southwest. Surrounding the lake are historical sites and scenic spots such as Kaifeng Prefecture, Bao Gong Temple, and Yanqing Temple.
Bao Gong Lake is a typical northern lake and one of the largest inland lakes in Kaifeng City. Its waters are crystal clear, of excellent quality, and rich in aquatic resources. I cycled around most of the lake; the environment was wonderful, and the midday sun in winter made it especially comfortable.
