Jinci Temple, originally named Tang Shuyu Temple, was first built during the Western Zhou Dynasty to commemorate Tang Shuyu, the founding ruler of the Jin State, and his mother, Yi Jiang.
The Three Treasures of Jinci Temple refer to the Shengmu Hall, a representative architectural work of the Song Dynasty; the cross-shaped ancient bridge, Yuzhao Feiliang; and the Xian Hall, an architectural work of the Jin Dynasty, all of which have been identified as national treasures.
The Three Wonders of Jinci Temple include the Nanlao Spring, the Song Dynasty painted clay sculptures of female attendants, and the 3,000-year-old Zhou Cypress.
