Segla

Segla is one of the most iconic peaks on the island of Senja, Norway, standing at an altitude of 639m. It is renowned for its steep vertical cliff face that drops directly into the sea and is hailed as one of the most spectacular peaks in Norway. The mountain's conical silhouette, plunging directly into Mefjord, is incredibly dramatic, making it one of the most photogenic natural landmarks in Northern Norway and highly renowned among photographers. The trail to the summit starts from the village of Fjordgård. It involves an ascent of about 600m. The route is clear but steep, requiring a certain level of physical fitness, and usually takes 2–3 hours to reach the summit. From the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Senja fjords, island chains, and the open sea, which is breathtakingly vast. In summer, the midnight sun paints the mountains and fjords in golden-red hues, making for an unforgettable hiking experience during the polar day.
