Having exclusive access to a washing machine was a major plus, and the bathroom dryer was incredibly convenient, drying our clothes while we slept or were out. However, the washing machine itself was quite dirty and required cleaning before we could use it. Given the room's size, a single air conditioner was completely inadequate for Kyoto's intense summer heat. Only the immediate vicinity of the AC unit felt cool, and it remained uncomfortably hot, especially after a shower, taking an age for us to stop sweating.

This was a lovely little temporary home with a washing machine and small kitchen. Good hot water for showers, plenty of towels. The only down side was that the sofa bed for the third pet was very uncomfortable. Otherwise a great stay.

I received check-in information via both email and text message, and even though I inquired via text message several times, the response was quick, which gave me great peace of mind. The room was clean and tidy, and had a relaxing, one-room apartment feel that was different from a hotel. It had a simple and stylish feel. I would recommend it to others and would like to use it again myself. Thank you!

This was a great guesthouse. The room was clean and well-equipped, although a knife was missing. I particularly appreciated the wet/dry separation in the bathroom. However, there was no drying rack, which was a minor disappointment given the Chinese custom of not leaving clothes outside overnight. Also, there were too few hangers; in the summer heat, changing clothes twice a day, they were simply inadequate.
Its location near Tenkachaya Station (Sakaisuji Line and Nankai Line) is excellent, with a large supermarket just 50 meters away. This is perfect if you enjoy sushi, fresh seafood, wagyu beef, etc., and want to cook your own dinner; it's very economical and satisfying.
While getting around is very convenient, the sole downside is its direct proximity to an elevated subway line. Trains whiz by every two minutes from 4:30 AM until midnight. Consequently, I would not recommend it for light sleepers or those with sleep disorders, as you might find yourself disturbed throughout the night.

We didn’t use much service so cannot really rate it. But the room is nice and new and staff is nice. The area is quiet but it is 7-10 mins walk to convenient stores, station. Not much shopping close by and only a few restaurants.. We enjoy the roominess and amendities, fully kitchen and washer/dryer.

We had a great stay! The location is good, walking distance to Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park and Gion district. Lots of convenience store and restaurants nearby and there is also a 24 hr supermarket. It is near the bus stop where lots of Kyoto buses pass by. The place itself was clean and huge compared to other hotels. There is a separate kitchen and bathroom area with a tub. The bedroom is huge and we could unfold our luggage and still have enough space to walk around. They have provided a clothes drying rack and washing machine with detergent. There is drip coffee provided and some tea. Highly recommended if you want to stay in Gion district and walk around the Higashiyama area in Kyoto! There are lots to do around and a lot of temples within walking distance.

The room was incredibly spacious, equipped with a kitchenette for light cooking, and featured two full bathrooms. The location was also excellent. We had a fantastic stay this time, and I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

The room is well-equipped, clean, and hygienic. There's no room service, and you have to self-check-in (if you're bothered by this or think you can't manage it, don't book). The surrounding environment is quite nice, located in a quiet alley. The location is excellent, 500m from Keihan Main Line Sanjo Station and 700m from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station. It's very convenient to walk to Yasaka Shrine, Kamo River, and Shijo shopping street. Walking to Kiyomizu-dera and Ninenzaka is also not too far. There are many restaurants nearby, and overall, they feel more 'authentic' than those on Shijo shopping street.

Location needs to walk out to main road for local city bus, area is in Gion area, walkable to Main Street from nearest bus stop. Hotel is small however interior is decent looking. To note, no housekeeping service even though I stayed for 3 nights

GGuest UserWith our family of five down the mountain near the hotel price is too expensive, we accidentally found this room type, room is large, the price is close to the people, suitable for us. To reach the front desk and room, you need to climb the stairs (may be a remodeled old building, but very Japanese style).
Since we drive by ourselves, we need to walk for3-5 minutes from the free parking space, but the luggage is large (next to Hankyu Busan Station), the handsome and beautiful staff are very dedicated to helping with the luggage to the room, and the Lobby puts a lot of Busan tourism information, (just happened to be summer festival, there are also Japanese nostalgic traditional gadgets for passengers.
Overall, the hotel is close to the residential house but the room is very large and you can see the mountain. The environment is very comfortable and quiet. The handsome and beautiful staff wrote the thank you card before leaving the store, which made us feel sweet.
SshankarsivaIt’s a 15-20 minute walk from Kyoto station in a pretty dark alley. The place was very clean when we arrived. There nobody at the counter and we checked in late around 8pm. The staff were kind enough to email us the pass code to our rooms and allow us to check in pass the usual operating hours. We were in Kyoto for 4 nights. The location is convenient and it was clean when we checked in however the room wasn’t cleaned on a daily basis, probably only cleaned once before check in. It’s not ok if you’re someone who expects the room to be cleaned everyday or every couple of days, otherwise it’s fine
The reception is located around 20-30 min walking distance from the inn(near Kyoto station). we wanted to leave our luggage at the reception for awhile after we check out, so we had to travel down to the reception with our luggage after checking out.
We had our luggage transferred from Narita airport to the the inn. We had to email the staff for assistance as the reception is not located at inn.
We overall had a good experience but do take note of the cons if your schedule/requirements are not as flexible. Staff replied to my emails very quickly and were very friendly and flexible.

CCeres NgWe stayed at Connect Inn Gion and overall felt the price and location were excellent. The area is very convenient and easy to walk around.
Do note that the building and room PIN codes are only sent after 3pm. For my booking (through Trip.com), I only received the PIN after I asked for it. They will also check what time you are arriving to collect the hotel tax.
The room is not squeaky clean, but for the price it is still acceptable. I did notice the bath tub water looked slightly cloudy compared to the water from the basin, which I noticed when using my own transparent cup.
Amenities like toothbrush and cotton pads are provided. There is also a small kitchenette with cups, plates, and basic utensils. The room I stayed in (302) had 3 beds and 1 futon, and the beds have rollers so you can combine them.
On the second day, my door did not auto-lock, but I called the property through the Trip.com app and it was resolved. There is also a free washing machine and dryer on the first floor, shared by all guests. It’s a bit old, but still usable.
Overall, the place is slightly run-down, but the great price and perfect location make up for it. We still enjoyed our stay.
VVeldaThis time I chose an apartment-style hotel, which is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Marutamachi Station on the Karasuma Line and a 2-3-minute walk from the Kinkakuji/Kiyomizu-dera bus stop. It is very convenient to reach various attractions. There are FamilyMart, 7-11, McDonald's, and supermarkets nearby. The room is spacious 👍, with kitchen utensils, oven, microwave, washer and dryer, electronic scale...all available. There is a large table in the room, which is a place where our family of five can go home every day to have late night snacks without being crowded. The teenagers enjoyed their stay very much and will choose this place again next time they visit Kyoto👍.

GGuest UserThe overall facilities and room size were excellent, making it perfect for a family of three. When staying here, I highly recommend using public buses for transportation, as the subway station is quite a distance away and very inconvenient.
Now, for the main points of concern: service is practically non-existent. The front desk staff appear to be international students studying in Kyoto, and their English comes with a variety of regional accents. If your English listening comprehension isn't top-notch, you might find communication a bit challenging.
Regarding dining, the immediate vicinity offers mostly small izakayas or tiny fried food stalls, which weren't really to my taste. There's a convenience store within 300 meters, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. However, if you take a bus heading west, you'll find a larger supermarket where you can buy fresh ingredients to cook in your room, offering great value for money.
Overall, if you're not reliant on subway access and don't prioritize extensive hotel service, then I highly recommend this place.
GGuest UserThe room is exceptionally big and clean. I’m a group of 3 adults and 2 kids. This room has everything that you need. Washing machine and detergent are available for our daily laundry. The best thing is they have drying mode for the bathroom. You can hang your clothes in the bathroom overnight and all your clothes are dried up the next morning 👍🏻 however, the washing machine did not work properly. I keep stopping by itself whenever it spins even though I put only 2 or 3 pcs of clothes in. Kyoto aquarium bus stops are just downstairs and nearby which can lead you easily to Kyoto Station in just few stops to take train around Kyoto.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a remarkably quiet neighborhood. I stayed for nearly a week and didn't hear a single loud or shrill noise. On a business trip, I walked through the quiet alleys between the hotel and the bus stop every morning and evening. I occasionally saw people walking, jogging, or cycling. Cars entering the alleys always slowed down for pedestrians. Both sides of the alleys are lined with low-rise residential buildings, some housing small shops. There are also a few small restaurants nearby with excellent online reviews, and even these maintained a peaceful atmosphere, both inside and out. Convenience stores are not far, about a 10-minute walk at most, and many alley corners have vending machines, so breakfast was easy to sort out on my own. Hotel service was good. While staff aren't always visible and the front desk is often unstaffed (you can ring a bell if needed), I didn't have any issues that required their assistance. The place was quiet, clean, tidy, and all facilities worked perfectly. It's a great place to experience Japan's low-interaction social environment, perfect for introverts/those with social anxiety, haha! No wonder the birth rate keeps declining.
GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at this ”spacious” house, which comfortably accommodates five people. The male receptionist at the shuttle van spoke fluent English and provided excellent service.
The location is convenient, just 1km with a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, making it easy to explore the area. They offered a generous supply of 1.5L of drinking water, along with tea and coffee on the first day, which was a nice touch.
The premises also include a lift with a camera, making it very convenient for those carrying luggage. The toiletries and laundry detergent provided were of good quality, and the bathroom dryer function was incredibly useful for drying washed clothes. However, I did notice a slight leak in the toilet, which kept the floor a bit damp, so be cautious.
Overall, I would definitely choose to stay with Resi Stay again during my next visit!
