I was their first guest since their re-opening and was welcomed with flowers from Victor the GM, and free coffee and breakfast from downstairs. Perhaps I shouldn't mention that, as everyone will ask for it! The staff in the hotel and the new Italian restaurant downstairs were 6 star! Everyone was lovely and what was so impressive was how excited the staff were to be back working in the hotel after a long break. The new rooms are lovely, and I loved my bath where I could watch TV at the same time! They had a few re-opening tweaking issues, but were very aware of these, and when there were resolving these. And the other special gem is the new restaurant. They make pasta on site. Try the fig bruchetta - it was so good! I had it twice. I will be back!
Stamford Grand Adelaide

The Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.
Nightcap at Rex Hotel
4.2/535 Reviews
The hotel was pleasant, clean, and easy to get to. The location is close to many destinations in and around Adelaide, including the airport and a reasonable shopping centre with cafes and major retailers within a 1.5km walk. There was plenty of parking in good sized spaces. I booked a basic, single room and got exactly what I expected. It was basic but clean and had a fridge, kettle, and single bed. There was a small armchair but no table although the kettle/fridge cupboard had a pull out tray which I could have used but this was a little dirty so I just sat on the bed to eat. They have a bistro which looked good (25% discount for house guests with dine in or delivery to your room) and offered regular pub menu options but I ended up walking a couple hundred metres down the road to the local takeaway shops for some Thai takeaway. The only complaints I really have are regarding noise, that the walls are quite thin and you could hear the other rooms' doors closing very loudly as people came and went. The next door neighbour listened to their TV at full volume until about 1:30am (I was due for a 6am start and this didn't help!).... Not the hotel's fault, just them being a selfish douchebag. The bar fridge rattled away fairly constantly but I just turned it off until the morning. The worst problem were the pillows though. They were like bricks; thin and extremely hard. I ended up putting the decorative cushion inside a pillow case and using that just to be able to have some padding. I drove only a few minutes around the corner to the famous Cafe de Villi's for breakfast before continuing on my way. All said and done, I would stay here again as it is very budget friendly yet so close to everything. But I will bring my own pillow.... and earplugs just in case!
Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets, an IHG Hotel

It is only a few minutes' walk from Victoria Square and there are many Chinese restaurants around the hotel. The city of Adelaide is not big, so you can walk to many places slowly.

this building was in a good position in the city, just opposite convention centre. Good service & very comfortable bed, but lounges & bathroom were old & in need of a makeover. basic toiletries were supplied & clean towels daily even though I left them hanging to reuse. the suite had 2 small double bedrooms, with 1 bedroom totally internal with no windows. It would be quite crowded if 4 adults were there.

I think this is quite an old hotel located at the central of adelaide. I love the location because it is just right beside the tram station. Behind this hotel has a lot of shops and restaurants. For halal option you can find some arabic restaurant or indian vegetarian cuisine along the road behind this hotel. The room that I booked included breakfast for 2. The breakfast is just simple but i am impressed because this is the first hotel that provide takeaway for those traveller that need on-the-go meal. Staff was really helpful and friendly. I noticed many elderly stayed at this hotel during our stay. It is really relaxing ambiance i already fall in love with Adelaide and this hotel. However please be reminded it is an old hotel ao some of the ammenities might not functioning well. My aircond was not so cold so they provided us with standing fan. And the shower door was broken but the fixed it immediately. Other than that everything was good. Definitely will stay again. P/s : Hotels in Adelaide are more expensive that Melbourne hehe.
The Wine Vine Hotel

I was greeted by the lovely Lindy, who made me feel at home immediately. Not only an advocate for her beautiful home town of Tanunda, local tourist spots and businesses, she absolutely is dedicated to her job at the Wine Vine Hotel. She was a breath of fresh air and full of information for us to take in. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. She even booked us in to the Chinese restaurant on site, which incidentally served delicious, affordable meals. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows, 2 bucket chairs and a coffee table. There was a big round mirror on the wall plus a bench to rest your personal items on and plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. The toilet was on one side of the wet area and the shower on the other. In the middle was the sink and bench top with a small bar fridge underneath there was also some shelving behind cupboard doors that that’s a kettle, toaster, and enough crockery and cutlery for the two of us. There was also a hair dryer. They also provided shampoo, shower gel and soap, small amount of long life milk and tea, coffee and sugar. The free wifi was quite acceptable and only had slight hiccups with it, but it resolved itself. Outside the sliding door, looking on to the gardens, were two garden chairs and a small table. This was perfect for our three night stay, as it was conveniently located in the town. We will definately stay there again should we return to the area and highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a comfortable space to call home at a very reasonable price. Thank you Lindy for giving us that fantastic first impression, you certainly made our stay very memorable.

We could not have enjoyed our stay here more. From arrival to departure the experience and stay was delightful. The apartments are clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect if you are wanting a city experience. Everything is within walking distance - Rundle Mall is a short stroll, the free city tram and tram to Glenelg are metres away, it's surrounded by 100s of places to eat (but if you want to cook there is a kitchen with full facilities) and the Central Markets are a block over. There is secure car parking and a washing machine and dryer. The best part though is the price! We couldn't believe the value for money. This is our second stay and we will be back again.
Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge

The property is situated in a great location, offering privacy as well as a great ocean view. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. The property in general and the guest room in particular are a little jaded, would greatly benefit from sprucing up if not a refurbishment - for example, a modern more functional shower head would add to guest comfort, and a newer hair dryer will go a long way to making the property feel fresher and more commensurate with the room tariff.
Ocean Crest Motel

Room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable. It had crockery, cutlery and microwave as promised. Fridge. We only needed a place to sleep and shower. Had breakfast one morning, bowls easy to clean in bathroom hand basin, although it is small. Lots of hot water in the shower. It's well located, away from main road but convenient to Victor and Port Elliot. Good blinds and curtains to block out early morning light. Suited out purpose perfectly. Toilet paper a plenty!
