Lovely old hotel, beautiful upgraded rooms and shared bathroom. _BUT the experience is totally letdown by the reverberating pump of dance music which went till 1.0am Friday and 2.0am Saturday. Its sleep defying, which is a shame because the staff and food were all very good and you could hear the sea when finally it was quiet.

We love the location! It is so close to the bay. We can easily walk to shops, restaurants, playgrounds, and the jetty. We definitely enjoyed the breakfast and will come back in spring.

Clare Country Club is a good option to stay at in Clare Valley even if you are not a golfer. It is a short drive from the heart of Clare town which has several good dining options such as The Bentleys Hotel which has a decent pub, dine-in restaurant and a bottle shop. The Antidote restaurant in Clare is a popular choice serving fusion cuisine. The wineries and cellar doors of Clare Valley are all within close proximity. Rooms look out onto lawns and have outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee. The hotel does not serve dinner on Sundays. A small bottle of wine, chocolates and crisps are provided complimentary. Parking is free and close to the rooms which makes it easy to load/unload luggage.

For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed in 11 hotels, mainly across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here's my ranking of the hotels from best to worst in terms of overall experience, with value for money factored in: 1. Capella Sydney (Lower value for money) 2. Park Hyatt Melbourne (High value for money) 3. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto (Medium value for money) 4. Crown Towers Melbourne (High value for money) 5. Le Méridien Melbourne (Medium value for money) 6. Hilton Adelaide (Medium value for money) 7. The Langham Melbourne (Lower value for money) 8. Citadines on Bourke Melbourne (Best value for money) 9. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (High value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel, Melbourne (Lower value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket.

no lockbox and no microwave which was especially disappointing considering the restaurant was closed, but clean room and lots of open parking

There are four bedrooms with five beds in total. They are not located in the same room type as other rooms, but in the farm across the road. The scenery is nice. The grass is green in winter. It will be even more beautiful if the sun is shining. The steak tastes good and the desserts are delicious. We only stayed for one night. If you like this kind of atmosphere, it is also a good choice to stay for a few days.

The room was very nice and clean. The family room was very big. 45 square meters. The facilities were very new. Very cozy. The front desk was very friendly. Slow-paced life. The price was also quite good. The breakfast was a meal bag with a milk, a juice, 2 pieces of crisps and a bag of cereal. The bathroom was completely separated into dry and wet areas.

I was really pleased with the amenities, room, cheerful staff and complimentary drink, meal discount - tho I didn’t use I will remember for future trips. The decent size fridge was great as I could refreeze ice pack for travel. Many thanks

The location is excellent, right by Glenelg Beach. Supermarkets and restaurants are all within a 5-10 minute walk. Driving to Adelaide city center or the airport takes only 15 to 30 minutes. The hotel also has a casino and a bar where you can enjoy a drink or try your luck. While the hotel shows its age a bit, it's clean and the rooms are spacious enough. Breakfast was just average, with limited food choices, but the view was lovely. The paid parking lot is not in the same building as the hotel; it's across the street, about 30 steps away, so you'll need to carry your luggage over.
