Stayed here for 6 nights. Basically, it was like being right in the middle of a happening town! Love that there's delicious halal food nearby, beside Apple store (Pinhuiwei Muslim Northwestern Chinese)! The Bund is nearby, Adidas flagstore is there, Starbucks everywhere. Love the vibe here! Will I stay here again? Yes I will but Shanghai has to be the 1st stop in China because there's no self service laundry here. The only con in this trip, or else, it would have been perfect! Then I'll followed by Xi An then Beijing, as those two cities have free laundry! My last two days was the start of their May Day! The number of people walking through Nanjing Street was crazy, shown in photo! But, it was very orderly so everyone had a good time here!

This hotel catches you a little off guard. When the car pulled up I thought I was in the wrong place. It gives very strong Air bnb/bed and breakfast vibes because that’s what it is. The ppl that run the place are very kind. The owner I assume, was very kind and very friendly. He went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. Even gave me cold medicine as I was struggling adjusting to Chinese fall weather and had a bad cold. The young man that worked evenings helped me order food and was a life saver because I had no way else to eat. The breakfast was minimal but tasty. Dumplings, boiled eggs and I think congee. I don’t like congee so I didn’t eat any. And I was always greeted with a smile from the lady cooking. The coffee isn’t great. Instant packets, very blah and nothing to drink really except water. There isn’t much nearby to do, it’s not walkable and so I would not stay if you’re looking for night life or convenience. But it’s a nice relaxing, quiet place to stay with a very comfy bed, nice tub, close enough to the airport and good shower pressure. I would definitely stay again.

The room was very comfortable, and the view from the large French windows was great. The lighting in the room itself wasn't super bright, but the entire guesthouse felt very well-lit and welcoming – you could spot it from a distance. The decor was also beautiful and unique. I didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the guesthouse amenities, but the cat was incredibly cute and wasn't afraid of being petted at all. On the first night, when we were putting on the disposable bedding, we noticed a small stain on the duvet. We messaged them, and they quickly came to replace it for us, even helping us put it on! Their service was incredibly enthusiastic. The next evening, after we came back from our outing, they even brought us two hot milk teas because of the earlier incident – that was a truly pleasant surprise. We were going to Disneyland in the morning to pick up headbands, and our destination was different, so we took a taxi instead of the shuttle bus, and they even reimbursed us for the taxi fare! The projector TV in the room was very clear, and the small table on the second floor was perfect for eating and doing makeup. Overall, the service was truly exceptional, which is really rare to find.

Experience the charm of old Shanghai at this five-star hotel, which truly excels in attention to detail. I like to open windows for fresh air, and my initial room's window couldn't open. I contacted the front desk, and they promptly moved me to a new room. The room facilities are indeed quite dated; the toilet in the bathroom was surprisingly small, and I had to shower while standing in the bathtub. Despite that, my overall experience was positive. Every staff member I encountered was very polite, making me feel right at home.

This is an eager five-star review, starting with a special shout-out to Bernie and Grace at the Executive Lounge for their exceptional help and superb coffee! All the other staff were also very nice, and the desserts by the plump chef at breakfast were incredibly amazing. It was a perfect travel experience, full marks. Now for the specifics. From the check-in date, the experience was top-notch. For my 4-day trip, the front desk offered a room upgrade at the minimum extra cost, allowing my whole family to enjoy a full river view plus executive benefits throughout our stay. The rooftop swimming pool was fantastic; the water quality was perfect, and swimming naked at night didn't feel uncomfortable at all. My baby practically lived in the pool and executive lounge for several days. The breakfast was more Western-style, with unbeatable desserts. The ice cream and donuts were outstanding. The Executive Lounge is on the 28th floor, and lunch is à la carte. I highly recommend the foie gras and wagyu burger – absolutely fantastic. The beef was cooked to perfection, and the tenderness of the foie gras and beef complemented each other beautifully. For afternoon tea, there were various coffee options, and the cappuccino and iced latte I tried were both excellent. The light dinner in the evening was more than sufficient for a traveler; the creamy mushroom chicken stew, grilled sausages, and curry beef left a very deep impression. Finally, let's talk about the room and hotel environment. Kempinski perfectly replicated the essence of classic elegance. While the room facilities might seem a bit dated, the hotel redefined luxury with its tangible comfort. The room temperature was always just right, and the experience with personal garments, towels, and bedding made you unconsciously indulge in the luxury. Even the blankets by the pool were warm, truly embodying the idea of 'warm service.' Lastly, to pick a bone, I'll offer some limited suggestions as a guest: Firstly, with the economic downturn, family travel will gradually become mainstream. Breakfast could add some kid-friendly items like smiley potato fries, ketchup, and bolognese pasta, which wouldn't significantly increase costs. Secondly, the glass needs cleaning, especially the panoramic glass at the pool, as it affects the view. I can't come up with a third point because the experience was truly excellent. I hope they continue their efforts. As a long-established luxury hotel in the 'center of the universe,' it needs to uphold not only its style and culture but also persistent passion and warmth. I will definitely visit again. (The ice cream wasn't replenished; it was photographed after closing, which shows how popular it is!)

I booked this last minute for a business trip. All the Huazhu hotels were already priced at 700-800 RMB, but then I found this hotel apartment. At under 700 RMB, it was such a great deal! It's a one-bedroom, one-living room layout, offering excellent value for money and pure comfort. The bed was super comfy, not too soft, not too hard. The decor also felt quite new. While breakfast isn't included, there's a convenience store and a McDonald's downstairs, so getting breakfast is really easy. Plus, it's right next to several big malls like Century Link, making the whole area incredibly convenient. I'll definitely stay here again on my next business trip.

This exquisite hotel truly impressed me from the moment I walked in. The lobby doesn't feel like a typical hotel lobby at all; it's more like a chic coffee bar, complete with a lounge area, entertainment zone (featuring Go, checkers, and board games), a shopping area, and a self-service tea station – all incredibly well-equipped. To the right of the entrance is the restaurant, which I tried. The noodles were fresh, generously portioned, and delicious. The main hall was bustling, but the owner was very thoughtful, providing an outdoor area for smoking and chatting. Upstairs, on the mezzanine level, there's another lounge and reading area, plus several private rooms that resemble sauna cabins, all of which were occupied. The room layout is sensible, with pleasant color schemes and warm lighting. The pillows are just like those at Atour, offering a perfect balance of softness and firmness, making them very comfortable. The entire hotel, from the hallways to the rooms, is clean and tidy. I absolutely love the hotel's style and would highly recommend it! 🥰🥰🥰

- Spacious room, exactly as described – the room is very large, giving us plenty of space to open our luggage comfortably. It’s also well-equipped with useful amenities such as a washing machine, electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, and hairdryer. Housekeeping cleans the room daily. - Comfortable bed setup – king-size bed with a firm mattress, which we really liked. The pillows were too soft for our preference, but extra pillows were provided upon request. - Bathroom facilities – no bidet, but the toilet seat comes with a heater. Hot water pressure can be a bit unstable, so you may need to adjust the tap to get the desired temperature. - Responsive and helpful front office – staff were very responsive and supportive. During check-in, we were asked to add their WeChat account, which made communication much easier throughout our stay. There's a deposit within our check-in. - Strategic location – plenty of food options on the ground floor of the building. There is also a spacious and comfortable park right in front of the hotel. Close to the metro station, shopping malls, and supermarkets—all within walking distance. - Fast Wi-Fi – works well, but foreign tourists are recommended to use a VPN for optimal speed and access. - Convenient package delivery – the hotel accepts deliveries and ensures packages are brought directly to your room door, which is very convenient. - Good management response – we reported someone smoking in the hallway, and the management handled it promptly and firmly. Well done. - Minor drawbacks – it would be better if basic dining utensils were provided. Also, no detergent is supplied, so you’ll need to purchase it if you plan to do laundry. Conclusion: Highly recommended if you’re looking for a spacious stay with easy access to the metro. Don’t hesitate to communicate with the staff—they are friendly and very helpful.

The location is perfect for Shanghai travel, near different Metro stations, several hunder meters from the best part of The Bund. The vintage building perfectly matched the vibe of Shanghai and staying here feel like travel in time. The view at high floors are excellent and able to see the Oriental Pearl Tower. The facilities are modern. The light switches in the room is traditional and easy to use. Just the front door has several high steps (the staff are very helpful) and the water pressure in bathroom is suboptimal.

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

GGuest UserThe Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is undeniably the benchmark for luxury hotels in the Bund area! Its century-old architecture is steeped in history, and the central atrium and staircase evoke the charm of a British gentlemen's club, making every photo a vintage masterpiece. The exclusive concierge service, with Emily and Echo providing exceptionally attentive care, ensured a seamless arrival and departure experience. Our room boasted unparalleled river views, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the Lujiazui skyline, making for a truly luxurious and comfortable stay. Their prompt and professional responsiveness truly embodies the motto 'the more you indulge, the more memorable it becomes.' Highly recommended!

JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined. First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience. Now, for the less satisfying aspects: 1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one. 2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them. 3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus! However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices. Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort. On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.

GGuest UserStaying here when seeing a show at the Culture Square was really convenient. The single room offered great privacy, and everything was spotless. It felt like the bathroom was cleaned regularly by the staff. The best part was the shower in the single room had a wet/dry separation, so I could just put my clothes on a stool without needing a bag. There was even a glasses holder on the bed, which was a nice touch for someone with poor eyesight. The only downside was the constant construction noise in the afternoon, which was very disruptive.

CCarol Lim KHStayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong for one night, and it was truly a memorable experience. We were two female travelers and booked a Skyline View Twin Room. The room was spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed, with a modern yet luxurious feel. The highlight was definitely the stunning skyline view—especially at night, the city lights created a breathtaking atmosphere right from the comfort of our room. It was a perfect setting to relax and unwind. The beds were extremely comfortable, with high-quality linens that ensured a restful sleep. The room was impeccably clean, and every detail reflected the hotel’s high standards. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a well-designed layout, a strong shower, and a generous bathtub, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. The service was exceptional, as expected from a Ritz-Carlton property. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location in Pudong is very convenient, with easy access to shopping malls, restaurants, and key attractions. It is an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and service. It was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely return in the future.

IImyyjmI stayed in the Panorama Bund Retreat King Bed Room with Oriental Pearl Tower View. The panoramic views are unbelievably beautiful and can be enjoyed both from the room and the large bathtub. The window stretches almost the entire width of the room, with a large sofa beside it that allows you to sit comfortably and fully appreciate the skyline. The bed was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the staff even brought scented oils to help with relaxation and sleep, which was a lovely touch. I must have arrived during a particularly busy period because the restaurant was always crowded and there was usually a queue for breakfast. However, on one occasion I was offered a takeaway breakfast box instead as I was in a hurry. As I do not have a Chinese phone number, I had difficulty ordering food from outside the hotel. Since the hotel had no halal and vegetarian options aside from one pasta dish, a member of staff kindly used their own phone to help me place an order and allowed me to reimburse them through Alipay. I thought this was incredibly thoughtful and helpful service. Even spending time in the hotel lobby felt relaxing, as the pink cherry blossoms outside the windows created such a beautiful atmosphere. The spa treatments were excellent and deeply relaxing. Lisa was fantastic and made the entire experience feel comfortable and welcoming. The in-room amenities were also wonderful! I loved the fragrance of the body lotion so much that I bought one from the spa before leaving. This has become one of my favourite hotels, and I already can’t wait to return.

GGuest UserStayed here during the May Day holiday. The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to the Bund, which saves you from holiday traffic jams. The breakfast quality is very good, and the room is clean and spacious. There are even cocktail tools and complimentary mixing ingredients and drinks in the room. The twin beds are 1.5 meters wide, much wider than the 1.2-meter single beds in many hotels, making it especially suitable for families with one child. The service is also very thoughtful. My child wanted to follow the delivery robot back to the room, and the staff patiently helped set it up. I'll definitely consider staying here again next time.
