Hotel near Shaoxing Downtown Area,Shaoxing 2.5% of visitors choose this area

Stepping into the lobby of Shaoxing Hotel, I finally understood what it means to find luxury 'hidden' in Jiangnan. It’s not the ostentatious, gilded kind, but rather white walls and dark tiles, winding paths leading to private courtyards, like a meticulously preserved Jiangnan garden. Passing through moon gates, circling around rockeries and ponds, Fushan Mountain is just a stone's throw away, with lush tree shadows stretching right to the windows. The front desk didn't hand me a room card, but a heavy brass key tied with a silk ribbon, feeling as if it could unlock the gates of some ancient mansion. The elevator walls were adorned with ink paintings, local masters' renditions of Shen Garden – the willow branches in the painting still drooped, as if you could hear the sighs of Lu You and Tang Wan. Suddenly, I realized that a five-star rating isn't displayed on a wall; it's hidden in the details – the weight of that brass key, the warmth of a handwritten note, the uncontainable pride in the tea master's eyes when talking about tea. The next morning, I was woken by birdsong. Pulling back the curtains, an old man was practicing Tai Chi in the courtyard, each movement slow, much like the pace of this city. Breakfast was at the buffet, and beyond the Western options, there was a dedicated Shaoxing snack station – freshly fried stinky tofu, freshly wrapped ai jiao dumplings, and freshly cooked Ciwu Dajian noodles. The chef, a local auntie, muttered as she cooked, “The broth needs to be ample, the noodles firm, and the toppings freshly stir-fried for the best aroma.” When leaving, the front desk asked if my stay was enjoyable. I said it was excellent. Even after driving a long way, I looked back and could still faintly see the white walls of Shaoxing Hotel standing amidst the tree shadows. It’s not flashy, not showy, just like this city – reserving its best for those willing to slow down.

This hotel stay truly exceeded my expectations! Not only were the views from the window stunning and pleasant, but the service was also incredibly thoughtful and memorable. From the warm and attentive check-in at the front desk, to the housekeeping staff who promptly responded to requests and kept the room spotless during my stay, even the restaurant staff were meticulous, proactively recommending dishes and refilling tea and water. The entire experience was top-notch, and I will definitely choose this place again for my next trip!

Advantages: 1. Famous landmark, symbol of Huzhou, light show 2. Lake view from the room 3. Stunning service, butler Lucy is great! And everyone in this hotel is super nice and helpful, doing their best job! The staff is real luxury in this place. 4. Hot springs (many choices, clean) 5. Decent breakfast (a real honeycomb, cheese selection , grilled chicken, they even prepared egg Benedict for us) Disadvantages: 1. It’s really old and you can feel it-outdated “tired” furniture, decorations, dirty carpets 2. Odour in the room (“aged” smoke) 3. Ridiculous prices for 7-eleven quality food (ordered room service), the worst Caesar salad I’ve ever tried (although I was reimbursed easily) 4. Some facilities are out of order, like a steam room 5. Dirty pool (the water was not clear, the staff told us that’s because there were too many people) I’d like to thank Lucy and other employees for doing everything they could to make us happy. I still recommend this place for a short stay and experiencing the hot springs.

Staying at the Huzhou Giraffe Manor Hotel during the May Day holiday was an absolutely amazing experience! Our standalone cabin was nestled in a bamboo forest, and opening the window revealed lush greenery and the fresh scent of plants filling the air. The most unforgettable part was the giraffe breakfast – seeing their adorable long necks poke into the dining area for a close-up interaction was incredibly therapeutic. The travel photography service was excellent; the photographer was professional and patient, perfectly capturing heartwarming moments with the giraffes, along with the bamboo forest and other cute animals. Every photo looked like a fairytale come to life. The park also offered a variety of animal interactions, with cute raccoons and capybaras, and the butler service was thoughtful and attentive. This is definitely the place to go for a May Day family trip, offering both natural wilderness and excellent service. Highly recommend returning!

The room was quite clean and quiet, and the view from the window was the Public Security Bureau, which gave a great sense of security. The second-floor platform is perfect for photos, especially at night when the lights are on. It's also very close to the exit of the pedestrian street. The hotel even helped us buy tickets, and we could freely enter and exit until 5 AM the next day. When the hairdryer broke, they quickly sent someone to fix it. We were so tired on the first day that we slept until almost check-out time around 11 AM, but when we asked if we could extend our stay, they let us check out at 2 PM. This hotel is really good!

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right outside the shuttle bus terminal for scenic spots. The bedding and toiletries are top-notch, and the service is incredibly attentive. The design of both the lobby and guest rooms is quite unique. I especially enjoyed the beautiful river view from the breakfast restaurant. However, I'd recommend choosing a room on the second floor; the first-floor rooms felt a bit damp, though that might have been due to the two rainy days I experienced in Wuzhen. Overall, it's a very good hotel.

The location is fantastic, right in the Tianyi Square business district with tons of dining and shopping options nearby, super convenient. The Catholic Church and the popular 'cherry blossom' elevator are just next door, literally a 1-minute walk! The room, while small, had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. Breakfast offered a good variety of items, including freshly made wontons and noodles. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Ningbo!

It was a misty and rainy April day in Wuzhen when we arrived, and it was pouring. Xiao Yuan was a lifesaver, meeting us at the parking lot entrance with two large umbrellas! She then guided us through the express lane, making our check-in super efficient. Next time I'm in Wuzhen, I'll definitely stay at Tong'an again and look for Xiao Yuan!

The Hotel was absolutely gorgeous. All staff from the beginning extremely helpful and supportive. Starting with the smart check in person Nishant who speaks wonderful English, going on with the nice room service ladies to all people serving breakfast, the lovely chef from Xian with his great dishes. The room is spacious with a great view to the lights of the close amusement places and wonderfully illuminated bridges. We would certainly come back and enjoy life at the Marriott Taizhou. Once you are in Taizhou please don't miss the yellow caves 黄岩石窟. People at the hotel will tell you how to get there . Marvelous and unforgettable experience!! True for Hotel and yellow caves!!! Thanks!

AAnonymous UserOverall, this was a good stay with some truly special aspects, but also a few areas that could be improved. The hotel is quite remote, which makes it feel very private and peaceful, surrounded by nature such as the lake, forest, and mountains. Even though we visited other viewpoints around Qiandao Lake, this location felt more special because of its quiet and secluded setting. The hotel itself feels like a destination, with scenic viewpoints, a garden with a lake, a cave, and even trekking trails to explore. The garden area includes a swan lake, which is a nice idea. However, the swans are kept in a very small netted space. It does not look great visually and feels restrictive for the animals, which took away from the experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed that was not too soft or too hard. Sound insulation was excellent, which made for great sleep. I also requested a firmer pillow, and it was provided quickly. The lake view room upgrade was a highlight. The view was stunning and made it hard to leave the room. If you stay here, I would strongly recommend booking a lake view room. The layout was nice, with both a balcony and a window view. The thick frame dividing the view slightly affected the overall feel, but it was not a major issue. The bathtub was also a nice addition. Cleaning was good overall. The AC did not work very well during the hot midday hours, although it was fine at other times of the day. Facilities such as the gym, yoga room, pool, and game room were nice additions. However, they felt quite standard for a five-star hotel, and I have experienced better quality in similar properties. One great feature was the free Tesla charging, but this was not communicated at all. We only discovered it by chance, which is a missed opportunity as it is a strong benefit. Breakfast was acceptable but not at the expected level. The coffee and bakery were the weakest parts. Ordering is done via QR code instead of in person, which felt a bit impersonal for a luxury hotel atmosphere. Service during breakfast also felt a bit off, as staff seemed focused on their tasks and were not very proactive in guiding or prioritizing guests, which made the experience feel less warm and not the kindest. Service was generally kind and friendly, but inconsistent at times. Some staff could benefit from additional training, as not everyone followed typical five-star service standards such as greeting guests or offering priority. Another disappointment was the welcome fruit, which was included in our package but not provided on arrival. After we asked, a staff member came carrying items for multiple rooms in a bag and handed us just one apple and one peach. This felt unprofessional although something very small. Another point worth noting is that the hotel was originally booked as an InterContinental, but about 1-2 weeks before arrival it was no longer part of the brand (somehow on Trip.com it still says intercontinental). Not sure if this impacted the experience, but overall it did feel slightly below what you might expect from that level, even though the stay itself was still enjoyable. The hotel also offers free Tesla charging, which is a great feature. However, this was not communicated at all during or before our stay, and we only discovered it by chance. This feels like a missed opportunity, as it is a strong benefit that could add significant value for guests I did not try lunch or dinner, so I cannot comment on those. Overall, this is a very peaceful and unique stay with amazing natural surroundings and a beautiful lake view. However, some service and operational details need improvement to truly match a luxury standard.

GGuest UserThe hotel's renovation is quite impressive, they spared no expense, practically a complete tear-down and rebuild. There's absolutely no hint of an old hotel, which shows the owner's generosity. For a 22-story building, having 5 elevators is excellent, and it doesn't seem to be shared with office spaces. Back in the room, the amenities are perfectly adequate. While the original room size couldn't be changed, everything else you'd expect is there. The only thing missing is an indicator panel in the elevators. Breakfast: For the price, it really has everything you could ask for, including several live cooking stations for things like noodles and fried dough sticks, and it all tastes delicious. I'd even say it's better than the Yiwu Marriott. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be with the staff themselves; the training seems lacking. In just half an hour of dining, I saw the same man and woman chatting privately, pushing and pulling each other around. Housekeeping did a good job overall, though I think they should pay more attention to checking the sofa in the future. Providing 4 bottles of Nongfu Spring water helps reduce the need for refills, which is a big plus. The teapots and cups are both attractive and high quality, and even the coffee cups at breakfast are excellent. The front desk staff also deserve praise; the concierge on WeChat was always responsive to requests. The delivery robot for takeout is incredibly fast, whether it's due to the order system or the robot's speed, I'm not sure. Either way, it was faster than I expected. Given its proximity to Yiwu Tiandi, if they just improve the breakfast service staff a bit, this hotel, in every other aspect, offers great value. Even at a price point ¥50-¥150 lower than the Marriott, it would still be very much worth staying at.

MM702023****A big thank you to the butler and hotel staff! From the delightful room upgrade upon check-in to the thoughtful and attentive butler service throughout our stay, every detail made us feel incredibly welcome. The butler was both professional and friendly, always there when we needed something, yet also providing us with ample personal space—the service balance was just perfect. The hotel's location is also ideal for families; our child's highlight every day was visiting the squirrel park downstairs. Breakfast was delicious and the commute was convenient. We will definitely be recommending this hotel to our friends and look forward to our next visit!

AAnonymous UserThe room is very clean, comfortable and hygienic. Children like it very much, but I feel it is more suitable for couples because the design of the bathroom is a bit inconvenient for parent-child families. There is also a bathroom on the first floor, but there is no shower. Parents of the opposite sex have to take a shower in advance. Other than that, it is almost full marks. The service is very, very, very good. The brothers are very handsome and the sisters are also very beautiful. They have a strong sense of service. The housekeeper is responsive to every request. A care package is provided every day, which is a canvas cosmetic bag that can be taken away. The toiletries are lelabo, and there are enough drinks. The restaurant is not big, so make reservations in advance. The food is very delicate and the taste is good. Afternoon tea and hot spring bath are also provided. It is very, very, very comfortable!

GGuest UserThe hotel was generally good, but there were some things I didn’t understand. For a hotel like Marriott, I was surprised that there were no drinks in the room and the refrigerator was empty. The restaurant in the lobby was nice and the food was tasty. However, many of the reception staff did not speak English, which was inconvenient. Overall, this hotel felt very different from other Marriott hotels. For me, the price and quality did not match. The only thing I really liked was that breakfast was delivered to the room on time. However, when we ordered fruit and juice to the room from the restaurant, it took more than an hour to arrive, which was extremely slow.

LluckydoyThe rooms and beds were quite spacious, but nothing really wowed me. Let me mention a few things I wasn't happy with. The so-called 'kids' paradise' at this family hotel was just a tiny inflatable bouncy castle – quite a letdown. The towels and bath towels were a bit old. In one room, there were only a few tissues left in the box. I'd specifically requested a non-smoking room, but one of the rooms had a distinct smoke smell upon entering. Also, I'm not sure if the booking deposit was collected by the hotel or the platform. Firstly, they charged the room fee again during check-in, plus a security deposit. Secondly, after checking out at noon, the booking deposit wasn't returned until I chased them for it in the afternoon.

JJingjinghebiancao1955This is a pet-friendly serviced apartment under the Ascott brand, with a cleaning fee of 500 RMB per stay. I booked an Executive Suite for three nights for 2532 RMB, and the price wasn't affected by the Chinese New Year surge. The room type is excellent, at 75 square meters, with functional divisions. It's even more convenient and well-equipped than a regular hotel, providing things that make a longer stay easier. My son had plenty of space to move around, and our hygiene habits are good, so the housekeeping staff always remembered to close the door quickly after cleaning to prevent our pet from getting out. 😊😊😊 I would definitely consider staying here again.

GGuest UserWhat I appreciated most about this hotel were its facilities. Everything felt well-equipped and practical, completely exceeding my expectations. It perfectly met all my needs, whether for a quick stay or a relaxing getaway. The in-room amenities were exceptionally well-maintained; all the appliances looked brand new. The air conditioning, both cooling and heating, was powerful and operated silently, ensuring my rest wasn't disturbed at night. The bedding was soft and comfortable, with a mattress that was just right – neither too soft nor too firm. Lying down, my fatigue instantly melted away, leading to a great night's sleep. The bathroom featured a thoughtful wet/dry separation, so showering and washing up didn't interfere with each other. The shower had excellent water pressure, and hot water was instant. The toiletries were also of good quality, providing peace of mind. The desk, wardrobe, and shelves in the room were well-arranged, offering ample storage space, which was incredibly convenient for organizing personal items – a really thoughtful design detail. The public area facilities were also impeccable. The lobby was spacious and bright, and the sofas in the resting area were comfortable, making waiting and relaxing very pleasant. The elevators ran smoothly and quickly, so there was no long wait to go up or down, even during peak hours. The hotel also had a clean and tidy laundry room with both washing machines and dryers, which is incredibly practical for long-term travelers, easily solving any laundry concerns. Furthermore, the hotel's fire safety and security facilities were excellent, with safety notices visible everywhere, making me feel completely secure during my stay. Overall, the hotel's facilities balanced practicality with comfort, and they were meticulously maintained, with no signs of age or damage. Every detail showed the hotel's dedication to upkeep. The comprehensive facilities greatly enhanced my stay, making it suitable for both business trips and leisure travel. I will definitely prioritize this hotel for future trips and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!
