After my luggage was lost, the staff at the Old Cataract Hotel went above and beyond to help me find it. On the first night, without my suitcase, they even provided many daily necessities (double sets of t-shirts, socks, spray, and other essentials). I was truly touched. The hotel manager who greeted us told us he loves Chinese people, and he didn't just say it; he proved it with his actions! ^_^
It truly lives up to its century-old reputation; it's so impressive. It's not just the beautiful scenery but also the hotel's culture. Every staff member's smiling service and simple Chinese greetings made me feel completely at home!
This trip to Egypt, I met many wonderful people, but also some terrible scammers. I also experienced EgyptAir's 100% flight delays and frequently lost passenger luggage... A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit. Next time, I'll know better what to look out for.
After seeing so many negative reviews, I booked this hotel with some trepidation. I'd like to say, the hotel wasn't as bad as the negative reviews suggested; on the contrary, it was quite good overall. First, the location: perched on a hilltop next to the Old Falls, offering a commanding view of both the Falls and the Nile. The hotel has two swimming pools: a larger one in the Old Basma and a smaller one at the top of the hill, which is where I booked the Basam Executive Club. The smaller one is quite small, but thankfully, it's high up and offers a great view. Secondly, the rooms seemed renovated, and the furniture and amenities weren't outdated. Upon arrival, I was even upgraded to a suite, which had a large terrace, a living room, a sofa, and a bar. It was spacious and very comfortable for two people. Finally, the service: the staff were very friendly. Although some didn't speak English, they were always willing to help, or call someone who did. They didn't ask for tips for luggage, etc. The room was clean, and they even provided welcome fruit and snacks. Overall, it was a very good experience.
The room was great! We were upgraded to a beautiful Nile River view. The staff were very nice. The only minor issue was a brief power outage before check-out on our last day.
It’s one of if not the best hotel in Aswan, situated in an exclusive island with an amazing view of the Nile and Nubian village. The staff was super comforting and lovely. There’s a shuttle boat that runs 24 hours to the main center of Aswan. I had an incredible time here. <3
I booked it temporarily because of the change in the itinerary.
Tolip is a chain of five-star hotels in Egypt. Although the decoration style and facilities are relatively old, it is already considered good in the local area. The price is also very cost-effective. There are rooms with Nile views. It is only a one-minute walk away. It is very good.
It is located in Nubian Village on the Nile River. You can travel to and from the main island by public ferry for 10 Egyptian pounds. It seems that they offer a free ferry at any time for check-in and check-out. Also, Baky, who helped us, was quick to respond and very helpful! We were able to ask anything and he was flexible, so we had no trouble staying there. Also, unlike the main island, the people in Nubian Village don't tout, and the children are adorable, so it was a really relaxing place. Please come and visit.
The scenery is beautiful. We checked in very late and took a boat to see the lights of the entire island. It was really beautiful. The room and surrounding facilities were not old. There are also many beautiful cats in the hotel restaurant. I felt relaxed as soon as I entered the island. The scenery was even more beautiful in the morning. The terrace of the room faced the Temple of Philae. I regretted that my stay was too short and I didn’t enjoy it properly. I highly recommend everyone to stay here. But please note that there is a construction site expansion nearby, so it may be noisy, but I believe the scenery will be more beautiful after the renovation.
At 10:30 pm on the night I arrived, the hotel said the air conditioning on the first floor was broken and strongly suggested I move to the river view room in the executive hotel on the hillside. The view was indeed nice, but the room facilities were average. The upstairs corridor was not air-conditioned and was extremely hot. When I entered the room, the floor was greasy. I turned on the air conditioning all night on the first night and it was still hot. The breakfast was average. I don't want to stay again.
Facilities: The hotel is on the island, and the entire island is within the scope of the hotel. The hardware facilities are acceptable and the environment is beautiful. The seats outside the restaurant are not well maintained due to the small number of people.
Hygiene: Overall hygiene is OK. But the seats outside the restaurant are relatively dirty
Environment: The environment is relatively beautiful
Service: The service is acceptable.

PPuladeaimitazhuangjiaA very good value hotel! Upon check-in, they consider the dryness of guests and offer three drinks: one with isatis root, one with plum flavor, and one with a sweet and sour flavor that's incredibly delicious. After check-in, a driver will drive you to your room. I had originally thought that the nicer hotels in Aswan were expensive, so I planned to book a more modest hotel to make do with my visit to Abu Simbel the next day. However, this hotel far exceeded my expectations. The scenery is stunning, with direct views of the Nile. Since we had to go to Abu Simbel early that morning and couldn't have breakfast, the front desk staff prepared a takeout breakfast for us. The only downside is that it's about a 20-minute drive from the city center.

GGuest UserThe most important thing in this hotel is not food, though it is perfect, and not even a stunning view from the windows - sincere location and readiness of Ahmed Shauki - the manager and host of the hotel, to help its guests in everything - that 's what makes Villa Misk the best!
