Nice cosy hotel. Very clean and easy to check in. Convenience store just across the road. 5 mins drive to a major shopping mall. Has a small stove to cook and kitchen. But really small and dark though. Otherwise room is very cosy and fits four of us well. Bathroom is clean and nice. Washer in the room too. I can jog to kumamoto castle which is nearby. Great location and great hotel.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and polite, with radiant smiles (the kind where even your eyes seem to smile). The front desk staff even came out to greet us when we checked out, offered to take commemorative photos, and helped us drive our car across the street. They greeted us again as we drove away; we truly felt their warmth and hospitality. The room was also very large (super large for a pure Japanese-style room; I roughly counted over 25 tatami mats in the main space), and the view was fantastic, overlooking a river, with the sound of flowing water (of course, you had to open the window; the soundproofing was quite good). The onsen (hot spring) is another highlight of the hotel. We took the hotel's free shuttle bus, which runs every 20-30 minutes from the hotel entrance. It takes you to the hotel's open-air onsen, which has five different types, all of which were amazing, though surprisingly few people were using them 😂😂😂 My friends also said it would be a worthwhile experience to stay here again.

Small compact room with modern interior. Comfy bed and well ventilated with mini fan provided. They provided extra bedsheet so that the sofa bed is converted to another single. Big enuf for a teenager to sleep on. Space big enough to open just one huge luggage. Somehow the room feels damp but we just stayed for two nights so did not bother changing rooms. Lots of free parking available. Near Aso milk factory which is a must visit for delicious pastries and snacks.

Just a three-minute walk from Kumamoto Station, the location is excellent. The hotel seems to be an older one that's been renovated. It's been a long time since I've stayed in a room that uses a physical key! The room size isn't small for Japan, and the bed is huge. Overall, the facilities are very new. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Kumamoto.

This small family-run guesthouse is nestled in the Minami-Aso mountains. The rooms are in individual villas, with an open-air hot spring bath in a separate building (though the water isn't very hot). Each room has a toilet and is in a spacious Japanese-Western style. A night's stay with two meals for under 3000 yen is considered inexpensive; dinner might not be enough for those with a large appetite.

This is the largest onsen hotel in Kurokawa; in fact, it's the only large-scale hotel there, all others are inns. The hotel itself is quite spacious, featuring three public baths and two private onsens. If there are many people, you might have to wait in line at the entrance, but it's usually not too long. It operates on a one-night, two-meal basis. Dinner is a buffet with a good variety of dishes. The taste is decent, nothing spectacular but not bad either. I personally quite enjoyed the breakfast, which was also very plentiful. Our room had a bed, not a tatami mat. I thought it was pretty good, even though it was small. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area and was very clean, although the yukata was a bit unflattering. The hotel has a rooftop with what was supposed to be a telescope, but it was out of order when we visited. In the evenings, there's a mini-bar offering some drinks and snacks.

It’s in a great location just a short walk to the shopping street with lots to eat and buy and also a view of the castle. However the hotel is very old and it shows its age both in the condition of the rooms and the way it is managed. For example, they ask guests to leave the physical key with the front desk every time you go out: this is a very old practice at Japanese inns. For younger folks, it feels worse than having to tell your parents when you go out or come back 😭

JAL's service really deserves a thumbs up; many Chinese service industries could learn from them. My earring fell into the sink, and I'd pretty much given up hope. But the lady at the front desk and a gentleman went to great lengths to help me find it. I'm so grateful!

Nice room which is quite generous in size compared to a standard Japanese business hotel. Only a bit on the dark side, so could use with better or brighter lighting. Location is very near a tram stop but convenience stores aren't close and not many places to eat around there. There was a yakiniku place nearby but it was fully booked so I ate dinner in the hotel but honestly the buffet wasn't very good in terms of taste. The payment for the buffet was also not reflected in my IHG one account. There is a coffee machine in the lobby for guest use (free). The best parts of this hotel are the friendly and helpful staff and the size of the rooms.

I like it very much. I booked a single room so it is relatively small. But there are only three rooms on the first floor, which is very quiet. There is a shared kitchen and bathroom. It is very convenient to heat food, pour water, and drink coffee. You can also borrow the boss's bicycle for free to go around. I rode to Tengu Bridge in the rain, but unfortunately the road was under construction. But riding along the way, it was really rural scenery, very quiet and comfortable! If you take the bus, actually get off at Hitoyoshiyakusho Station and walk back about 100 meters. The Lawson convenience store is right next to the hotel, which is very convenient. But everyone will definitely go to Hitoyoshi Station to check in. It still takes at least 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to Hitoyoshi Station, which is a bit of a road. Of course, people who like to run wildly think it’s okay, but those of us carrying big bags still hope to stay within 500 meters.

GGuest UserI stayed with my parents, and the location was great, right behind Suizenji Park, within walking distance. Dinner was also delicious, with a sophisticated flavor that adults will love. There was a hot spring and a family bath, and the shared bath was clean. I would definitely stay at this inn again if I visit Kumamoto again.

GGuest UserThe resort location is accessible actually by bus from tateno 立野 station and the last bus is in the evening you may check the timetable online. We did not drive and leaving the accommodation is less convenient because all taxis were booked out but the staff was very friendly as to driving us to the nearby train station to continue our journey to Aso Volcano. Service was good. The private onzen was amazing and we were able to use it for one hour. The public bath was good too but the amenities they provided inside were not as enough, eg they don't have comb for ladies and make up removing pads. Other than that, cleanliness was amazing and staff were friendly, rooms had amazing Mountain View's.

Kkronodmo mulalaI had an enchanting two-night stay at this hotel, where the picturesque view of the river from my room added a serene touch to the experience. The included breakfast and dinner were nothing short of fantastic, offering a delightful journey through Japanese cuisine. The attentive service further elevated my stay. The onsen was a highlight, boasting a spacious interior and a tranquil outdoor area. The immersion in the calming waters was a rejuvenating experience, and the overall ambiance added a profound sense of relaxation to my stay. Highly recommend for those seeking a blend of natural beauty, exceptional food, and attentive service.
