"We wanted to have a break from Dublin and came over to Portmarnock for the nature, beach and see a friend in nearby Malahide. The hotel has everything that you need, all in one location - the beach is stunning, many locals swim daily, the long coastal walk with “Bahamian” style white sand beaches, the Martello towers and heritage of castles/stone walls, restaurant and bar in the hotel itself. We had a great experience at check in, loved our room and view, plus very easy to explore and walk along the coast. There’s a sauna and self service dog clean in the car park which is great!"

"The chapel experience was quite nice, but there is only one shared toilet for more than 20 people, the same for man and women. Dim lights make the room quite private, we didn't see anyone, however beds are very close to each other so you can hear people snore and your bed shakes if someone staying in the pod next to you climbs on the bed. Moreover, as it's dark in the room, people obviously make more noise walking and getting ready in the morning. The top pod is much smaller than the bottom one as it needs to fit the chapels ceiling. The toilets were clean but very busy, the free breakfast is nice and the staff is friendly."

"Stayed one night at Travelodge Dublin Airport North Swords before an early flight from Dublin Airport. The location is very convenient, only a short drive from the airport, making it a good choice for an overnight stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and check-in was straightforward. A big plus is the on-site restaurant, Smokin Bones Swords Travelodge, which serves American-style BBQ food. It was great not having to travel elsewhere for dinner after a long day. The food was tasty, portions were generous, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The hotel and restaurant partnership makes the stay much more convenient for travellers. y. Good value for money and ideal for travellers needing an overnight stop."

"The staff were lovely but we paid an extra 15 euro to check in early. When checking in early we had to change rooms this room smelt like a bathroom constantly as the customers toilets were close by and the door kept been left open in the toilet even with our doors closed there are also apartments just above or across thats are very very loud all night and a dog that would not stop barking constantly so after paying 123 quid and then an extra 15 on top of it for early check in it was really really not worth it. The dog literally barked from 12pm until 1 am wasn’t really worth the early check in for the room to smell like toilet all the time and it to be so noisy"

"Self-check-in, it is best to ask Trip.com in advance to open the door password. It is quite far from the city center, 25 minutes walk, in the residential area, but there is a bus stop at the entrance of the hotel, travel is convenient. The room is newly decorated and very bright. It is a common problem in the homestay. The table is small and it is inconvenient to use a computer. The bathroom is crowded."

The iconic four-star Green Isle Hotel at Newlands Cross is conveniently located just off the N 7 motorway, and less than two-kilometres away from the M50 – making it the ideal spot for those visiting Dublin. Our location simply couldn’t be better for walking into Clondalkin village or taking a short Luas journey from nearby Red Cow station into Dublin City Centre. Clondalkin Village is steeped in history with the Round Tower, Corkagh Park, independent shops, bars and eateries. Step into our spacious reception area and discover a hotel brimming with features, to make your stay a memorable one. Enjoy our Weekly Tasty Tantalizers from our chef specials menu. We are independently owned and run, with excellent standards of service and attention to detail. Though some facilities and elements of our service have changed over the years, our teams are well-equipped, well-trained and The Green Isle Hotel is, as always, ready to extend a very warm welcome to you.

"There was in general nothing wrong with the hotel, however the hotel is very big, has no charme and feels not inviting. The rooms were ok, however our non smoking room was facing the car park above the smoking area. When we opened the window, which we needed to do as the room was smelly at first, we got all the cigarette smell from below. There were not enough hooks or rails for towels. The beds were good. Breakfast was average. The room had not enough seating for the amount of people in the hotel, so we had to wait until a table was cleaned for us.  Hot chocolate was not included and needed to be payed for.  The poached egg was hard, the bacon showed white fat spots from not being hot enough.  I personally would not like to stay there again."

Good location - distant enough from the crowded city center but close enough to walk over to most of the attractions & the River Liffey. And sorry to share this: There was a very nice Bread41 Bakery just round the corner of the hotel - don’t miss it for breakfast 😛

I decided to ditch staying in the city centre based on my below par experiences there on my last trip. When looking on Trip.com, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Dalkey was the same price as several dorm rooms in the city centre when I looked. Getting there from Dublin Airport was relatively straightforward. I took and Aircoach from the airport to Dalkey/Ulverton Road and then walked for about 15 minutes. Up to the hotel entrance. The hotel is fairly old fashioned but personally I found it very charming. The staff were well-trained in the art of hospitality, the rooms were clean, locals were in and out of the bar, restaurant and leisure centre. Furthermore, the room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The tv had a nice range of channels and the bathroom had a working shower and an abundance of towels. One thing missing was a toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving kit. I was told that you can get slippers on request as well. Get the breakfast. It’s €16 and it’s a buffet style with a delicious selection of hot and cold food. There’s rashers, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, the works. I wish I could’ve eaten more! I loved that they had a wide range of ages working there as well. One of the staff tripped when she went to ask if everything was ok and she said ‘I’m fine, I’m falling for you!’ It was then that I knew that I was home. The leisure centre is one of the best I’ve come across in a while. I’ve stayed in so many places where it’s literally an empty room with a few bits of old equipment but they had loads of weights, treadmills, bikes, etc. They do classes and physiotherapy as well. The pool and jacuzzi were also excellent. Plenty of ages in both as well but it wasnt overcrowded so you’ll get a few lengths in if you want. Lastly, make sure to go for a walk about Dalkey and the surrounding areas. I spent the morning walking down to the Vico Baths, the Forty Foot (both swimming locations) and passed through Dalkey Village. Plenty of people will be out with their family and friends whether it be for a walk, bike ride, swim or a coffee and a chat. Ditch Dublin City and say yes to Dalkey!

The man at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming as soon as my friends and I arrived. The rooms were kept especially clean throughout our entire stay. The friends I traveled with also ate at the breakfast and said the price was fair because the buffet was so good. 10/10 stay. Also just a ten-ish minute ride downtown and airport.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin and found its location on O'Connell Street to be exceptionally convenient for exploring Dublin's main attractions. The room was clean and featured a mini-fridge, which was useful for keeping drinks cool. However, the breakfast experience was underwhelming. The selection lacked variety, and the quality didn't meet expectations. Additionally, the lobby area felt cramped during peak times, making it less inviting for relaxation. While the hotel's central location is a significant advantage, improvements in breakfast offerings and lobby comfort would enhance the overall guest experience.

My husband and I had been planning this trip to Dublin for quite some time. And when we found this beautiful boutique hotel online, we were so excited. As soon as we arrived And checked in, there was a lot going on in the lobby area, so it was a little overwhelming. We saw a lady at the desk, but we weren’t sure that she actually worked there because she didn’t greet us. Didn’t even look our way. It seemed like she had a general disinterest or disdain for us being there. I asked, “Is this the front desk to the hotel?” To which she responded in a monotone voice, “Yes.” I was shocked that this was the first impression of the hotel that we were getting. What made it worse was that my husband was told that we needed to put a card on hold and he proceeded to tap his card thinking that it was like all the other places we had been to in Ireland. But it didn’t work. Several times he tapped it and it showed nothing. He asked the lady, “does your tap work? Do you have tap?” To which she replied a curt, “no.” Mind you, she was standing there the entire time and could see the entire situation. This interaction was such a bummer, and this made our short trip to Dublin feel a little sour.  To be honest, not all of the stuff was like that morning. We woke up to get a coffee downstairs, and the gentleman that works at the coffee bar was very warm. A young Spanish speaking man. He was absolutely amazing; patient and willing to answer any questions About the items on the menu And the different pastries available.  Overall, the hotel was a mixed bag. It had a very chic vibe but outside of that lovely gentleman, their customer service can definitely improve!

There are many Chinese supermarkets and restaurants downstairs in the hotel, and the front desk has dedicated security personnel who will help with takeout. The breakfast is also plentiful. However, there's an epic bug: the outermost elevator goes down to the -1 floor, which is a staff-only area. The laundry room is on the same floor, separated by a door with access control (Figure 10). Entering the staff area requires a card, and here's the interesting thing: if you finish doing laundry and press the elevator button, and the staff elevator comes down, you can't get through because your room card can't be used on that door. You either have to wait for that elevator to go up before the other regular elevators come down, or you have to use the adjacent stairs. On the day of check-out, I happened to meet someone in a suit, presumably the manager, and I mentioned it to him. I look forward to seeing how things are improved.

It was a great stay overall. The location was perfect. It was near the center of Dublin. But was set in a quiet neighborhood just outside it. It is a doable walk to a park set along the water. I loved the Medieval Theme. The staff was friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. The dual shower heads are a nice setup. .Request a view of the front of the hotel. The only potential negative is the distance from the airport and the train.
