If you like to keep fit or need to get fit - then this is a perfect hotel for that - as you can integrate it into your trip whether it be for business or holiday. The pool and gym are the most impressive facilities I’ve come across in a hotel. If you can’t swim I’m sure there are lessons available which would be a great thing to do no matter the purpose of your trip. Thought the room was comfortable enough but I suppose if you weren’t using the hotel facilities you may feel it’s overpriced - we didn’t think this because we used the excellent pool and gym. We had a couple of cocktails in the lounge bar that were excellent and the service in the hotel was very attentive.

We arrived in Dunhuang at night, and the pick-up service arranged by the hotel was very heartwarming. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. You can see the beautiful scenery of Mingsha Mountain in the distance outside the window. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful, making you feel like spring breeze. The hotel breakfast is delicious. The restaurant is on the 9th floor and has a large viewing platform where you can enjoy the beautiful Dunhuang. The lobby on the first floor of the hotel also provides yogurt, mineral water and seasonal fruits. The hotel's service details are very attentive. The Dunhuang landmark Rebounding Pipa is right in front of the hotel. It is very close to the Dunhuang Shazhou Night Market. It is only a 5-minute walk away. It is convenient for eating and transportation. You can take the No. 3 bus at the door directly to Mingsha Mountain, and there are direct buses to the Mogao Grottoes. I had a comfortable stay and had a lot of fun during my trip to Dunhuang. I hope to come again if I have the opportunity.

After comparing many hotels, this one is definitely the best value for money! The room is spacious and bright, with complete smart devices, and it is super convenient to cast a screen to watch TV. Strategically located to stage to places of interest: like Dunhuang spring crescent n also Mogao Grottoes. Within 20minutes. Very affordable and great value for money with all the helpful front staff to housekeeping. Just around the corner is the street food with lots of restaurants n the Shahzhou nite Market is just 15 minutes walk away. I highly recommend anyone wishing to come to Dunhuang seeking reasonable and quality accommodation to stay here.

Highly recommended to everyone. We traveled to Dun Huang in early May (2024), and we feel grateful for all the kindness we got here. The hotel is very clean, and the service is super accommodating. They provide free pick-up from airport (or train station), so all you need is to call them one day ahead (the receptionist can speak English if you don't speak Chinese). Everyone will smile at you and ask what they can help you when we stay there. The location is brilliant too. It is like 1000 meters away from Ming Sha mountain, and you can actually see the sand mountain when you have breakfast at the hotel (it is free too). We will definitely stay here again when we visit Dun Huang next time.

The hotel has a pick-up service, which is very convenient. It is not far from the airport for more than 10 kilometers. The luxurious hotel is not as big as the promotional picture, but the bathroom is very big. There are many places to eat nearby. The front desk service attitude is very good. It is worth staying. The service was exceedingly good at ZhongZhou hotel. I stayed with my wife and had a second room for my daughter and son in law. The lobby always had someone to open doors/press the elevator button for guests. What really stood out to me was the attitude of the workers. Breakfast typically starts at 7, when I mentioned I had to leave at 6:15, the worker at the restaurant told me to come early, and she would have it ready for me. Unfortunately no fitness center but the laundry room was a plus. There were also plenty of washing machines (no dryers). This hotel truly felt like a second home. The rooms and beds were also comfortable and clean. A fantastic stay overall, would definitely stay here again.

From the exterior the Dunhuang Jiayuan Hotel looks like a traditional Chinese hotel. But the room is furnished with all the modern trappings that are so essential to a weary traveler. The bedroom and attached bathroom are very clean, hot showers readily available and the bed comfortable. The hotel is right next to the Shazhou night market and within walking distance to all the transportation hubs which makes visiting Dunhuang attractions easy. And the service team was fantastic. One and all they were approachable and very helpful. The lovely lady who checked us in not only upgraded our room but she even managed to get us seats on a Western Dunhuang tour which was one of the highlights of our already amazing trip! Another recommended local dishes for us to try and we were amused to see the name of one such restaurant on a road sign! In short we love Dunhuang Jiayuan Hotel. The most surprising hotel on this trip, super cost-effective, Buick seven-seater special car pick-up and drop-off at the airport, because I brought children, an extra breakfast was given, as well as special slippers, masks, toothbrushes and drinks for children. There‘re no options to go out right at the hospital, but if you‘re willing to take a walk (or a short taxi-ride) you‘ll have lots of options. Train station 15 minutes by Didi in the morning. Downside for international travellers: It‘s all in Chinese, even the light-scenarios cannot be identified easily, the staff didn‘t speak a word of English. It‘s made up for with friendliness and online-translators.

Room was ok but bed was very hard like sleeping on wood. Breakfast was Chinese breakfast and just mediocre. Hotel advertised a gym , spa and sauna. Gym was 2 small machines stuck in the corner of the 2nd floor out in the open. I could not find the spa or sauna so I asked the front desk and was told ”no have”. I discovered later the next night the spa is outside of the hotel and not affiliated with the hotel. Won't stay here again
