The room facilities are indeed a bit old, but they were cleaned thoroughly. The location is very convenient for transport; Wan Chai MTR station is 250 meters away, and Admiralty station is about a 5-6 minute walk. The A11 airport bus stop is also very close, just a few minutes on foot. There are many great local 'cha chaan tengs' (Hong Kong-style cafes) nearby, mostly frequented by locals, which are much better than the '网红店' (internet-famous spots). The price during the off-season offered great value for money, especially since I was mainly just coming back to sleep. The staff aren't as overly cheerful as you might find in mainland China, but they are responsive and helpful when you need something. Overall, it's a good place.

Booked on Trip.com for a three-night stay, including breakfast and afternoon tea. The breakfast spread was excellent. The hotel boasts a convenient location, just over 500 meters from the subway station, which is a major plus for getting around Hong Kong. You can easily walk to Victoria Harbour, the Avenue of Stars, the Clock Tower, and Kowloon Park from here. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, so overall, it's very convenient. For shopping, K11 is practically next door, and Central is just two subway stops away.

I bought a voucher in advance for a premium room, which included breakfast and afternoon tea, and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. There's a dedicated area by the entrance for hanging clothes and changing shoes before you get to the bathroom, which is a much better layout than some hotels where you open the door directly to the bed. The pillows were super comfortable, with both soft and firm options. Both breakfast and the Hong Kong-style afternoon tea offered a great selection.

Arrived in Hong Kong and chose this hotel for our first night's layover. The free shuttle bus service to and from the airport was incredibly convenient! Plus, on our second day, there was also a direct shuttle to the Disneyland park entrance, which was a huge help. The hotel front desk staff were very nice; seeing we had a child with us, they upgraded us to a suite, saying it would be more comfortable with the extra space – much appreciated! Everything from cleanliness, environment, to location was excellent! I'll definitely choose this hotel again for early morning or late night flights when I'm back in Hong Kong.

The hotel is very clean, and the water pressure in the shower is fantastic. They also offer a semi-buffet afternoon tea. It's conveniently located near Tin Hau Station and Victoria Park, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. Although it's small, it has everything you need and offers excellent value for money.

The hotel is located in the city center and close to shopping areas in Causeway Bay. It is also close to the Causeway Bay metro so it is easy to travel around Hong Kong. The hotel is clean, and Ms. Chalette, the staff member, was helpful throughout my registration. My room is on the 34th floor, close to the swimming pool. However, the pool is closed due to the weather. The gym is on the B2 floor, which is in the basement area. I haven’t checked the gym, though. To get to my room, I have to change the elevator on the 31st floor to another elevator. The regular elevator is slow but the elevators from 31 to 34 are fast. My room is big with a high ceiling, and clean. There is a big bathtub in the room as well. The view is awesome which is Victoria Harbor and Victoria Park. However, the heater in the room didn’t work properly so it was always colder inside. Overall, except for the heater that didn’t work, and the slow elevator, I do enjoy my stay here. If it is not expensive, I might stay here again.

Traveling with a child on a layover, this hotel was incredibly convenient. It's just a short walk from the airport.
The room was quite spacious too.
I saw reviews praising the coffee in the cafe, so I tried it, and it was excellent. My child got free cookies, and I ended up buying some more as gifts.
Check-in was a bit crowded, probably because several flights had just arrived. Check-out was very smooth, and they even offered express service.
Oh, and the hotel also provides free universal adapters; you just scan a QR code, and customer service delivers it to your door. They don't provide bottled water, but they offer free glass bottles, and drinking water stations are available in the hallway, which is both eco-friendly and practical.
Overall, a great experience!
This hotel offers good value for money, located about 500 meters from Ngau Tau Kok MTR station. It seems to be a refurbished factory or office building. The elevators don't require a key card. The guest rooms have a traditional decor with simple furniture, reflecting an old-school style throughout. The cleanliness is quite good, and the breakfast at HKD 55 is reasonably priced. A special mention goes to the shower's water pressure, which is incredibly strong—showering feels like surfing, no exaggeration. The plumbing system must have been renovated later on.

Had a very satisfying stay! Getting to the hotel from the airport was convenient, with multiple options like airport shuttle buses or the MTR. Although the room wasn't large (understandable for Hong Kong, where space is at a premium), it was incredibly clean and tidy. The bathroom had excellent ventilation, with no strange odors, and the floor dried quickly, staying consistently dry. The hotel's location was also perfect for exploring, eating, and shopping. They even offered complimentary afternoon tea for guests, which was a nice energy boost. What's more, since it was close to New Year's and Chinese New Year, they had a 'Fu' (good fortune) calligraphy event. Guests could try writing 'Fu' themselves and even take their creations home, which was such a thoughtful and creative touch. Thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The room was very expensive for what you get . It was the weekend of the HK marathon so maybe this affected it. The room itself was very small, but it’s Hong Kong, I get it, space is at a premium. Bed was pretty hard, but personally that wasn’t an issue for us. What was most disappointing was the “Harbour View” I paid extra for (photo attached). Our shower had no shower gel provided.
The staff at the hotel were pleasant and helpful and we were allowed to leave our bags after we checked out while we spent another day in the city. The breakfast was only so so, but reasonably priced. The lifts up and down can be very slow. There’s is a rooftop pool with nice views of the city, but we didn’t use the pool.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s based in a nice part of central that feels local and has good access to transport networks. There’s also some great coffee shops and food options in walking distance.
We are not people who spend lots of time in the hotel and used it mainly as somewhere to sleep while we explored for a few days. That said, you could find better priced options for that kind of stay.
All in all it was just ok. Nothing to write home about.

SShujinFirst, the good points: The transportation is quite convenient, with the Island Line just 600-700 meters away. There's also SOGO department store nearby, and plenty of dining options. Now, for the less satisfactory parts: I booked two nights. I arrived around noon on the first day, and they said my room wasn't ready, but I could upgrade to an executive room for an additional 70 HKD and get a room immediately. I thought it wasn't too expensive, so I upgraded. The room was still very small, and I couldn't see any difference from a standard room. Here's where it gets excessive: On the second day, after I went out and came back in the afternoon, my key card stopped working. I went to the front desk, and they said because I only paid the 70 HKD for one day, I'd have to pay another 70 HKD to continue staying in this 'executive room' for the second day. I immediately expressed my dissatisfaction. When I paid, the front desk didn't mention that I would have to pay another 70 HKD on the second day. Moreover, I repeatedly confirmed if I could stay in this room continuously, and was told yes. Of course, the hotel didn't charge me this fee in the end, but it wasted half an hour of my time. As for breakfast, it's sufficient, but if you consider the price of the breakfast, I'd recommend people who aren't in a hurry to look for options outside.
LLiz-yuanThis hotel offers great value for money in Hong Kong. After carefully sifting through options, I booked the GuangDong Hotel, feeling a bit nervous due to some negative reviews. However, I was very satisfied with my stay, so go ahead and book with confidence! I didn't dare book the most basic room, opting for the 'Oasis' instead, and they kindly upgraded me to a 'Sky' room free of charge. The bedding was very clean, and the shower had great water pressure. The provided toothbrushes were of good quality, and the mini-fridge drinks along with two daily bottles of water were complimentary. The front desk service was excellent. The lobby was a bit small, with the coffee shop taking up some space, but they offered free coffee vouchers. The hotel's location is its biggest advantage; it's super convenient for the MTR, tram, and buses. There are also many restaurants nearby with a wide variety of choices. I highly recommend this hotel.
MM480558****I was so surprised to find a suite with a sea view, a small kitchen, and a fridge in Hong Kong for less than 900 HKD. What a pleasant surprise! The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service to Tsuen Wan Station and Tsuen Wan West Station, which is very convenient.
GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, equipped with a kitchenette and all the necessary dinnerware. The views were open and expansive. While the location might be a bit challenging for first-time visitors to Hong Kong, the hotel offers several complimentary shuttle services to and from Central daily. The Pedder Street shuttle stop is conveniently located at the bus station near Central MTR Exit D1. There's also a stop at IFC, but I haven't personally used it, so it's best to inquire with the hotel for specific boarding points.
If you prefer taking public transport, from Admiralty Station Exit B, turn right for about ten meters onto Tamar Street, then turn right again and walk twenty meters to the bus stop for the 12A. It's only two stops to the hotel, at the 'YWCA' stop. From there, walk back about twenty meters to reach the hotel.
When heading back to the hotel from Central, the 12A bus is also the best option. It will first go to Admiralty Bus Terminus and stop for a few minutes while the driver takes a break. You can simply wait on the bus; there's no need to purchase another ticket. I figured this out after staying for four days, as the 12A is a short circular route specifically designed for MacDonnell Road residents. Every time I queued at Admiralty, I'd see people already on board, leading me to conclude they had traveled from Central and were waiting to go up the hill back to MacDonnell Road.
MM2g91nc0r****Facilities: There's a 24-hour gym, which the kids loved.
Cleanliness: Relatively clean.
Environment: The blackout curtains aren't great, but it wasn't too noisy being on the street. I'm not sure if it was the AC or the ventilation system, but it was a bit loud. You can't hear any noise from other rooms or upstairs, so overall it was okay. The two beds were pushed together, which was perfect for a family traveling with two kids.
Service: Check-in and check-out were both quick, and the service was very thoughtful. Storing luggage at check-out was super convenient, and the front desk staff were very nice.
Facilities: There are tram stops nearby and a bus stop right outside. There's also a fruit store and a pharmacy next to the hotel, and a 7-Eleven across the street, making dining, living, and transportation quite convenient. Being close to Times Square makes getting around easy. The hotel's logo isn't very prominent; I'd suggest hanging it higher and making it stand out with different colors and lights.
Recommendation: Try the Yoshinoya nearby. It's close to the market, so you can also check out the market for good food.
Ssky3014Overall, it was a great stay. The location is super convenient, making it easy to get to Victoria Harbour and other attractions. Right next door is the Grand Century Place mall, so you have plenty of dining options. The hotel's environment and cleanliness were also good. We chose a room with a 1.5-meter bed, which is quite rare for Hong Kong. Essential toiletries like toothbrushes, shampoo, and body wash were all provided, so there was no need to bring our own. One of the best things about Hong Kong is that you don't need to buy bottled water; we didn't buy any water during our four-day trip. Just carry a reusable water bottle, and you can refill it almost anywhere, which is very convenient and eco-friendly – definitely something to learn from. The only minor issue we had was on the first night; we were given a room with a connecting door, and the soundproofing was terrible. The family next door had three noisy kids who kept us up until late, so we didn't get much sleep. However, the hotel was very accommodating and moved us to a quieter room the next day.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel could perfectly recreate a scene from a 90s TVB movie or drama.
The front desk lady provided good service. No deposit was required, and I could store 1-2 pieces of luggage for free; anything more would incur a charge.
As soon as I entered the room, I was hit with a strong, musty, damp smell. It got a bit better after turning on the air conditioning.
However, the old-fashioned AC unit was incredibly noisy, and I couldn't sleep well all night.
There was no bottled water provided, and no hotel towels, though disposable toothbrushes were available.
My travel adapter wasn't suitable, but I could borrow one from the front desk.
The location is good, in an alleyway off a bustling street, about a 10-minute walk from the MTR station.
But for this price, I could get a much better place where I come from. It's a bit disappointing how Hong Kong's sky-high land prices mean hotel prices and facilities/services don't quite measure up.

MM236869****The room size was decent, the shower had good water pressure, and the cleanliness was also quite good. The cleaning lady was lovely; she'd proactively replace our toiletries. The soundproofing was also acceptable. The location is about a 10-minute walk from the MTR station, and along the way, there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores, which is very convenient. For this price in Hong Kong, it's pretty good value.
AAnonymous UserI will definitely stay again because the front desk Carissa is so kind that I decided to show confidence on Shangrila again. The newly renovated room is super clean that I don’t have to worry about bugs which seem to be quite awful all over the 5-star hotel rooms in HK according to guests reviews.
Cleaning lady is very kind and polite. Only the Christmas gifts saleslady needs to be more helpful for customers. One waiter at the horizon club is not very friendly.
