The place is in quite bad condition and the staff very unfriendly. I read on Google that they would take your phone to leave a great review with it so I refused to give it to them. He still “needed to take a picture of my booking info because being short sightseeing” but then could read my translation app no problem… The room itself was good and the shuttle came to bring me to the airport (just a couple minutes late). The elevator stops one floor before the rooms so I almost left my suitcase downstairs but all the suitcases there were absolutely empty… it made me feel like they try to have people believe that they can leave they luggage down for the night but not with the best intentions. Regardless, I decided to bring it up and carry it in the stairs to feel better overnight. Cheap and okay room for one night near the airport, that’s all.

Overall Experience: My stay was defined by a feeling of tranquil escape. The hotel's greatest strength is its atmosphere. Being in a historic building tucked away in a quiet, leafy neighborhood just off the famous Nanjing Road created a perfect balance. I could easily walk to the buzz and shopping, but returned each time to a serene, garden-filled sanctuary. It felt more like a peaceful retreat than a standard city hotel. Service: The service was consistently attentive and polite. Staff were professional and quick to help with requests. The check-in and check-out process was smooth. While the service wasn't overly familiar, it was reliably good and matched the hotel's calm, understated style. I felt well taken care of. Facilities: The facilities are well curated but compact, focusing on quality over quantity.

I had a red-eye flight back from my trip, and instead of taking an expensive taxi home while exhausted, I decided to book a hotel with a shuttle service. This way, I could get some rest and head back to the airport for the subway home once I was refreshed. I initially thought 'Vienna' sounded like a privately run guesthouse, but I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I was picked up. Instead of a beat-up van, it was a clean and tidy mini-van. The driver was very polite, there weren't many people in the car, and it was a quick ten-minute ride to the hotel. The lobby had a nice atmosphere, and the staff weren't at all tired despite it being early morning. They stood up to check us in as soon as they saw us. We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a family room, which was larger and quieter at the end of the hallway. I then discovered the hotel is part of the Jinjiang Group, a state-owned enterprise, which explains the significant investment. They use a mini-van for early morning pickups and a large Yutong bus for daytime transfers. The hotel has a small gym and laundry room. The room itself was quite spacious, much bigger than express hotels in the city center. The bottled water was Nongfu Spring, and after returning from Queen's Palm Hotel in Hainan where they only provided additive-laden water like Ice Dew, this detail really impressed me. They even thoughtfully provided disposable toilet seat covers and child-friendly toiletries (something even Hainan didn't have), with toiletries that felt like a full care package. The room was spotlessly clean; I deliberately touched the floor, and there was no dust on my hand, which is truly commendable! The shower stall also had no residual water stains or hair. There was a QR code on the wall for feedback, showing their commitment to service. As a Trip.com member, I opted out of breakfast. After all the discounts, the room cost 240 RMB, and I could check out at 2 PM. I slept in until noon, ordered takeout, and then took the shuttle back to the airport for the subway home. My child was happy, feeling like we had another day of vacation. I slept very well with no noise disturbance. It was a very satisfying stay. Just two small suggestions: The faucet in the sink is too close to the basin's edge, so water splashes out every time you use it. I had to use a bath towel to block and absorb the water. Also, it would be great to have a high-powered domestic hairdryer, like a Leifeng, and perhaps a stand to secure it so it doesn't get taken. That would further improve the experience. Overall, I still want to praise the hotel; it was a very satisfying stay.

Overall it was pleasant. Breakfast was a bit of a miss but still tasty food. Staff was excellent and the room was top notch. We have been trying out under 400Yuan specials and this ranked 7 out of 10. Location is ok but it's not that close to the airport. It's a 30 minute DD or you can wait for their shuttle service on the 3rd floor of the airport. WeChat is the 13301609593 and that would have been really helpful to list at 1am arrival at PVG. Overall we enjoyed and would recommend this place. It's better than most and worth the price.

The hotel rooms were clean and tidy. The shuttle service was convenient and efficient, running every hour to the airport, which was super handy. The hotel staff were very friendly. The facilities around the hotel were excellent too. A special shout-out to front desk ladies 10 and 28 for their fantastic service, and also to security guard number 22 and restaurant auntie number 23 for their excellent service. Thumbs up!

Our stay at Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Airport was truly a pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the front desk team. The service was professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly. We would especially like to thank Yves, who went above and beyond to assist us. He was proactive, attentive, and made the entire check-in process smooth and comfortable for both me and my husband. His positive attitude really made a difference in our overall experience. The hotel itself feels very new and well-maintained. The facilities are modern, the rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed, and everything feels fresh and comfortable. Housekeeping was also excellent—responsive, thorough, and courteous. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely choose this hotel again when traveling near Pudong Airport. Highly recommended.

This hotel is super convenient for anyone catching an early morning flight, especially with their airport shuttle service. The rooms are quite spacious, though the ones facing the street can be a bit noisy. We mentioned it to the front desk, and they happily moved us to an inner room, which was great. Plus, there's parking right outside the hotel. The facilities are a little dated, but for the price, the value for money is excellent. You really can't expect five-star luxury at this price point.

The biggest plus is its incredible convenience – it's directly accessible by elevator from Exit 2 of the suburban line. Located right between T1 and T2, you can reach either terminal within 10 minutes. The room facilities, hallways, elevators, and general environment have a bit of a guesthouse vibe, but the toiletries (toothbrush, etc.) are a definite bonus, reflecting the quality you'd expect in a big city like Shanghai. The elevator has a bit of a nightclub feel, all dark and moody. The air conditioning in the room is quite old and hummed all night, and to top it off, the shower head actually started dripping water by itself in the middle of the night. Good thing I wasn't staying alone!😅

I was very satisfied with my stay this time! The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation and nearby convenience stores and restaurants. Although the room wasn't particularly large, it was very clean and tidy, well-equipped, and very comfortable to stay in. The staff were very helpful and communication was smooth. Overall, it offers great value for money, and I would choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Cleanliness: Clean. Environment: Slight airplane noise from takeoffs and landings, but not too loud. Earplugs are provided. Service: Good. Breakfast is a mix of Chinese and Western styles. If you can't make it, they'll pack it for you. Facilities: Quite comprehensive. Internet access is convenient, and the room also has an iron and ironing board. Pudong Airport Shuttle Service: Buses run every half an hour, departing on schedule. You need to be in the lobby 5 minutes beforehand.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is truly at the heart of the Bund! The century-old architecture creates an amazing atmosphere, perfect for effortless photos. The room was clean and spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the soundproofing excellent – a quiet oasis in a bustling area. The service was gentle and meticulous, from the doorman to housekeeping, everyone was very professional. The location is absolutely unbeatable; step out and you're right on the Bund, making sightseeing and dining incredibly convenient. The quality truly lives up to the brand. My stay was absolutely perfect, and it's definitely worth coming back to.

LLomarThe location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a 10-minute walk to Yu Garden and Chenghuang Temple, and very convenient to get to the Bund. Exploring and dining couldn't be easier. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and even offered helpful travel tips, which was a huge plus. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the separate wet and dry bathroom was a pleasure to use. The breakfast selection was rich, and the freshly wrapped xiaolongbao were incredibly authentic. To find such great value for money in this area truly exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai!

GGuest UserThe hotel environment is quiet and elegant, and the aroma in the hallway smells luxurious. The room has good lighting and a wide view; opening the curtains every day just brightens my mood. The cleaning staff were very meticulous. The location is superb, making it convenient for shopping and dining. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed. The front desk lady was super gentle. I'll definitely choose this place again next time! Enjoy Disney shuttle service: The Disney shuttle service is very convenient.

GGuest UserI am very happy with my stay at this hotel. The hotel is very modern and clean. The girls at the counter are helpful and polite. The cleaning ladies are always friendly. Free bottles of water are given every day. My room is compact but has all that I need. It is a smart room that has voice control. The toilet lid opens by itself. Overall a very comfortable stay.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were really great; one of the male staff even gave me hot mineral water and local specialties when I left. When I couldn't get the hot water to work in my room, a female staff member was quick to help, and they personally delivered my takeaway orders to my room. There's also hot coffee available in the lobby. The hotel's close proximity to the subway is another plus. The only downsides were having to get up early for breakfast to avoid queuing for a table, and there's only one elevator. The room was a bit small and the facilities were older, but it was very clean and quiet. Also, it looked like some of the toiletries had been used, but thankfully I hadn't brought many of my own. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

SShanghai based coupleAs a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

AAnonymous UserPros: 1. Upon arrival on check-in day, a doorman helped open the car door and took our luggage, escorting us to the front desk. Our bags were then delivered directly to the room by staff. 2. The hotel staff's service attitude was excellent, and the front desk handled everything professionally. 3. We booked a river-view king room and paid extra to upgrade to a Bund panoramic view king room (not sure if that's the exact name). I have to say, the view was absolutely stunning – exactly what everyone hopes for! You could see the Oriental Pearl Tower, the 'Three-piece Suit' (referring to the three tallest skyscrapers), the Huangpu River, and the entire Bund, all unobstructed. 4. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Binjiang Park, perfect for a leisurely stroll anytime. The surrounding area has complete commercial amenities, offering plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. The hotel itself is a quiet oasis in a bustling area, perfectly aligning with Banyan Tree's resort positioning. 5. The room facilities were premium, and amenities were comprehensive: a circular bathtub, a double-basin vanity in the bathroom, a smart toilet, and a shower with three types of nozzles and excellent water pressure. 6. The room received complimentary bottled water and a small beverage daily. You can definitely cut down on ordering outside drinks when staying here; the in-room supply is enough. 7. The first round of soft drinks in the mini-bar was complimentary upon check-in. 8. Any issues we reported via phone were handled swiftly by the hotel. 9. The best perk during our stay was the breakfast, served from 7 AM until *12 PM*! Being able to sleep in and essentially save on lunch was fantastic. 10. The hotel's cleaning staff was prompt and even asked for our preferred cleaning time, which was very thoughtful. 11. On check-out day, I wasn't quite ready to leave and wanted to extend our check-out time. The front desk was busy with another guest's call and I couldn't reach them immediately. Afterwards, Ms. Minnie, the hotel's room division staff, promptly called me back and arranged for a late check-out until 1 PM. Her professionalism and quick response were commendable. Cons: 1. For a luxury hotel with this location and view, don't expect free room upgrades. Upgrades come with an extra charge, and having such an expectation can lead to a slight disappointment. 2. The hotel's check-in time is strictly 3 PM. If you arrive early, you'll either have to wait or go out to explore. 3. The room wasn't soundproof. I noticed a gap under the room door, and a noticeable space between the door and its frame. No wonder you could hear every little sound from the hallway, and conversely, anything happening in the room was audible from the corridor. This compromises privacy a bit, making it less suitable for couples or those (like me) who enjoy listening to music with speakers in the room, as it might disturb others. 4. Food delivery is a common issue and a typical drawback of older luxury hotels: deliveries aren't allowed directly to the room; guests have to go down to pick them up themselves. There are no smart robots for delivery. 5. Other snacks in the mini-bar are not complimentary. Given the price point of the rooms, the hotel could be a bit more generous. 6. The breakfast selection was quite limited, comparable to a buffet breakfast you'd find in a hotel costing around 100 RMB. For example, a few years ago, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt by the river in Changsha, Hunan, where the breakfast offered Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Korean options, plus seafood and sashimi – I could spend over an hour enjoying breakfast there. For the price point of the Banyan Tree on the Bund, this level of breakfast is genuinely a bit disappointing and should be upgraded.

GGuest UserAtour is always my top choice when traveling, and this Bund branch is incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Bund, and getting around for shopping and dining is super easy – everything is close by. Comfort is consistently excellent: comfortable mattresses and pillows, thoughtful laundry service, and the warm midnight congee always melt away travel fatigue. The staff are always smiling, and that hot tea at check-in instantly washes away the dust from your journey. I particularly love the 'naked cotton' bedding; it's so skin-friendly and breathable that I always sleep soundly through the night. From the moment you walk in until you leave, every detail is just right. Next time I'm in Shanghai, for the convenience and comfort alone, I'll definitely choose to stay here again.
