This is a highly recommended and convenient hotel right in Morioka. The location is perfect: it's situated directly across from the train station, easily accessible via the underground walkway. It's also near Kaiunbashi, one of Morioka's signature spots, offering a great scenic view. For ultimate convenience, there's a 7-Eleven located right on the ground floor of the hotel. Beyond the location, the staff are very nice and incredibly helpful. The lobby provides an impressive array of amenities, more generous than many hotels I've visited. The room size is comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious, meeting the excellent standards of the Daiwa Roynet brand.

The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and helped us by recommending attractions and nearby ski resorts. It was very convenient to get to the ski resort, and the place was clean and hygienic.

This was my first trip to Japan's Tohoku region. The Richmond Hotel Morioka is visible right after exiting the JR station. When traveling in Japan, I generally choose hotels near JR stations for their unparalleled convenience in dining, accommodation, transportation, and shopping. I'm especially pleased with the Richmond Morioka. The rooms are slightly larger than hotels in other cities, and the floor-to-ceiling windows make them feel bright and airy. The cleanliness and facilities were satisfactory, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. The check-in/check-out times were better than in other areas. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. If I visit the Tohoku region again, I'll definitely use Morioka as my base, and the Richmond will undoubtedly be my top choice.

I was looking for a hotel for my trip to Morioka when I found out this hotel was opening that day, so I booked it right away. The lobby, guest rooms, and lounge were all beautiful, stylish, and wonderful. The large public bath had a sauna, which was very relaxing. The breakfast, which I had been looking forward to, was even more delicious than I expected, and I ate a lot. I definitely want to stay here again the next time I travel to Morioka.

The check-in staff introduced the hotel attentively and cleaned the room attentively. The ski rental staff are very patient. But the quality of the food in the restaurant is average, and all the shrimps in the seafood are rotten. And some of the waiters are not polite to the guests.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk to Kaiun Bridge. Parking is mechanical and costs 1100 JPY per day. The in-room toiletries are from DHC, which is a nice touch! What truly stands out, however, is the hotel's breakfast on the top floor. The view is absolutely stunning, with clear sights of Mount Iwate. The restaurant staff are incredibly energetic and friendly – they truly deserve praise! The cleaning staff were also very polite.

A 10-minute walk from Morioka Station, it's not super close, but the price is great. They offer coffee and tea, which is a nice touch. Plus, there's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk. I'd recommend staying here!

Approximately 300 liters per minute of natural hot spring water flows directly from our private source—without added water, heating, filtration, or recirculation. Enjoy skin-smoothing “beauty bath” waters and seasonal cuisine showcasing the finest ingredients from Iwate, all while relaxing in tranquil guest rooms nestled in the quiet surroundings of Shizukuishi.

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and is conveniently located near another scenic spot, Yanmei Creek. The hotel's dinner, late-night snacks, and breakfast are all delicious. The hot spring facilities are also well-equipped, with frozen desserts provided for guests after their soak. Massage chairs are also thoughtfully provided next to the hot spring. However, the receptionist failed to inform guests that there are no towels in the hot spring; guests must use towels provided in their rooms.

A very cute cabin in the woods, about 3-5 minutes drive from the ski resort. If you drive, I recommend this hotel. It may not be very convenient if you don't have a car. The hotel has 2 private hot springs that can be reserved, so you can go there when no one is using them. It is a very special experience to soak in the hot springs in the snow.

JjuLiaNa sImStunning location! Walked into the lobby and was floored by panoramic views of the cape. The hotel isn't modern or new, but it's well-maintained. Stayed in the tatami room and it's extremely spacious. Opt for the dinner buffet as there aren't lots of dining options unless you drive. Breakfast was full of Western and Japanese options. Oiishi!

JJiangchuanmaijiuThe hotel is located directly opposite the red circle at Morioka Station's South Exit. You can't get there directly, so you'll need to go around it to the right (it's farther to the left). Morioka Station has many self-service luggage lockers, which is very convenient. The hotel is quite convenient, and the free breakfast is satisfying, but the elevator wait can be difficult during the morning hours.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located deeper in the mountains than I expected. From Morioka, I took a bus at 7:30 PM, and after about an hour and a half, most people had gotten off within 20 minutes, leaving me on a secluded road with almost no lights. Eating out at night would be nearly impossible.

SStaliciousWe had a pleasant stay in general. However, room ceaning service needs to be improved. Our group of people have a few bad experiences. 1) after returning to room after the day, there was a used mask left in the bathroom. There’s also a day without providing onsen towels and we had to bring over the mid size ones 2) the door of my friend’s room remained open after the cleaning service (a 3M sticker with なすし2 sticked on wall). Glad there’s no missing items 3) another room, there was blood and urine stint left on the toilet cover! I hope the hotel can take it seriously as it indeed ruins the brand of IHG and bad customer experience.

LLanie KirklandA group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!

DDevIdeal place to rest after hiking to Kurasakiso. The Japanese style room is clean, neat and faces the ocean. Light house and ocean can be seen from the room window. The light house, 40deg North symbolic monument, the Kurosaki bay view point are all at a walking distance. The in house restaurant provides dinner and breakfast. I do not eat meat or other seafood except fish, therefore it was a bit difficult for them to manage my needs. But the breakfast compensated for my dinner challenges. I liked the breakfast as there were plenty of varieties of items to choose from. The onsen also faces the ocean and is quite good. After a demanding hiking, onsen dinner and cold beer made my night enjoyable and relaxing. This is a very good place to stay, I highly recommend it.
