Overall, the hotel was pretty good, and the view from the cabin window was a major highlight! We checked in around 8 or 9 PM, so we didn't see the lake view initially, but opening the window the next morning to see the sunrise was absolutely stunning. I felt that some of the facilities were a bit old, especially the bathroom and kitchen. Parking is available, but it's first-come, first-served, and can be a bit tight.

It was extremely frustrating to arrive at the hotel on a cold, rainy night only to find no staff at the front desk—I waited outside for half an hour. To make matters worse, the old-fashioned facilities made handling luggage quite inconvenient.

Overall, this accommodation was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The unit was very spacious, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean upon arrival, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. The layout was practical and suitable for both short and longer stays, with ample space to move around and relax. One of the biggest advantages was how easy the place was to locate. Clear directions and a convenient location made check-in smooth and stress-free, especially after a long journey. The surrounding area was also quiet and pleasant, allowing for a restful stay. Cleanliness was clearly a priority, from the rooms to the common areas, which we truly appreciated. Overall, this accommodation offers great comfort, convenience, and value. We would definitely recommend it to others and would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

For where you are (Oamaru is a small historical town) and depending on what you plan to do the clue is very much in the name. Parking was easy, decor quirky and very well designed. Cold buffet breakfast included named local cheeses, beautiful fruit and bread section with sociable table seating - gorgeous. We did a visit night at Oamaru Penguins, which for nature lovers is unbeatable (with dinner at Del Mare next door to the centre which was great ) it was absolutely perfect for our visit.

Clean and tidy. The room had high ceilings which was very comfortable. The price was even cheaper than some motels. For this price, staying in a hotel of this caliber is truly amazing value for money. The only downside was that parking was quite inconvenient; if you want to park, you need to book early, but even then, you'll likely not get a spot as there are only about a dozen available.

Very convenient location, located just 2 bus stops away from Queenstown Airport, and the bus stop located just outside the hotel. The room was spacious and the toilet was also clean. There was also a water cooler on the first level which was convenient for refilling water, and they had different complimentary hot teas served at the hotel lobby everyday which was a nice treat in the cold weather.

The lakeside cottage is very beautiful and the room is clean, but it has a retro feel and everything is old. There is also a small drawback that you can't cook. But the restaurant next to it is delicious and worth a visit! The key point is that the room has a bathtub

The motel's location is a bit out of the city center, so a car is essential for getting around. You can park right in front of your room. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, including pots and pans. The male owner was very responsible. On our first night, the AC wasn't blowing hot air, and we woke up freezing at around 5 AM. We talked to the owner the next day, and he explained that the thermostat was set too high, preventing the AC from kicking in. He then restarted the outdoor unit and got it working. He even proactively knocked on our door to check if it was working correctly and brought us a small space heater. The owner also provided a small map, showing us places to visit in the city and how to get there.

I stayed at the Law Courts Hotel recently, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The building is very old and hasn’t had much renovation. The bathroom still has those separate hot and cold taps, which are inconvenient, and the carpet looked quite worn and not very clean—it definitely feels like the place could use some updating. That said, the location is fantastic—right in the heart of Dunedin, so it’s super convenient for getting around. It’s also very affordable, which is a big plus if you’re on a budget. Just keep in mind that being so central means it can be noisy; Saturday night, in particular, was hard to sleep through with all the street noise. Overall, if you’re after a budget-friendly place in a great location and don’t mind the quirks of an older hotel, it’s worth considering. But if you’re looking for something more modern and comfortable, you might want to look elsewhere.

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite large with many rooms. I booked a twin room, and it was spacious with two comfortable and clean queen-sized beds. My room was on the third floor, at the corner, offering only a partial view of the lake. There were no kitchen facilities, so cooking wasn't an option. The hotel's location is excellent, right by the lake. It's about a 10-minute walk to Queenstown's center and its attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's a car park, but parking comes with a fee. Breakfast is also an extra charge, but the quality was decent.

AAnonymous UserTo get to the hotel, take bus #1 from Queenstown Airport to Standly Street Bus Hub A, then it's about a 200m walk. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the gondola and the Intercity bus station. There are also several supermarkets nearby. My room was on the 4th floor, and there's an elevator. The kitchen is on the same floor. The room itself was very small. With two suitcases on the floor, there was hardly any space to walk. There was a small window, but it couldn't be opened. They provided a mini electric heater, which was handy for drying small items of clothing. The self-service laundry room is on the ground floor. Be aware that the washing machines are not free; it costs $5 per wash and $5 for drying. Laundry detergent can be purchased for $2 a small packet.

HHuobatuThe hotel environment is particularly good, the proprietress is a Chinese sister, especially good, give me milk, it is very quiet, and very close to the scenic spot, there is a McDonald's and gas station ten meters away, there is a fish and chips 100 meters away, and the Chinese are also delicious but not friendly. In short, the hotel is very clean, the location is good, convenient and fast, parking is very convenient

이진희We chose this hotel because we expected to enjoy its winery/food. Otherwise, we should have stayed in Queenstown with a lot of restaurants and pubs. As we would arrive in the early evening, we put a note for our hope for experiencing their winery and food (or at least finger foods) when we booked the hotel, and received email that they cannot guarantee but will do their best to serve our need. Since then, no email was sent to us. When we arrived at the hotel around 6 pm, no one was in the information desk, so we had to go to the bistro to find out that they left the key in a safe box without any notice or sending us any email with its password. We had to wait a while for the bistro lady to make a phone call to whom it concerns, which was okay. Worse, we heard that their bistro was reserved for a group event so we could not use the facility at all. We had to drive 15 minutes to a nearby town and bought foods from a supermarket. I think the hotel should have notified us of impossibility of using their bistro/food service due to the group event and we have to prepare for our food. As I checked out, I left a note about the issues, and expected they would send me an email to express their sincere apology. Unfortunately nothing happened so far. Although I liked the room as well as the whole place very much, I think Kinross cottage needs professionalism to run their stay program. It could have been much nicer, memorable stay experience.

GGuest UserThe hotel was great however for the size and experience they are aiming for and the reputation of being operated by the Hilton, the internet speed is subpar and was below my expectations. A speed test returned speeds of 0.03mbps which is not enough for web browsing. I would have hoped for better internet connection given the price and premium segment this hotel competes in.

GGuest UserAlthough the sheets on all three beds were dirty, stained, and had hair on them, suggesting they hadn't been changed, the staff promptly replaced all the bedding when we brought it to their attention. Aside from that, we were quite satisfied with the hotel. There's a bus stop right outside, making it very convenient for airport transfers. The town center is about a 15-minute walk, though it does involve a long, steep incline. The two-bedroom apartment is a duplex; downstairs has the living room, kitchen, and a bathroom, plus a separate washroom for handwashing. Upstairs are the two bedrooms. The master bedroom features a bathtub and shower, and a separate toilet and vanity area. The second bedroom has two small beds, both with wardrobes. The kitchen is fully equipped, lacking only a dishwasher, and there's a shared laundry room outside. Both the upstairs and downstairs have balconies with fantastic lake views, perfect for watching both sunrise and sunset. The view alone makes it worth the price!

::))We were thrilled to be the very first guests to leave a review for this stunning new resort! The location is fantastic, just a quick 10-minute drive to town, and our room offered breathtaking views of the Shot River, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. We arrived around 10 PM, and the hotel reception was impeccably prepared, warmly welcoming us and even upgrading our room! It looked exactly like the photos, with a design and interior that perfectly captured the vibe we were seeking. They had welcome drinks waiting for us, and we appreciated that milk was available on request at any time. The breakfast was a delightful a la carte experience, featuring an array of delicious options. The serving staff was not only attentive and kind but also provided excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants! We also indulged in room service, which exceeded our expectations in both taste and punctuality. Although the fitness room and movie room were still under construction, the small maintenance issue we encountered in the bathroom was addressed swiftly by the staff. Our stay has left us eager to return and see the final results of this new gem. I highly recommend this resort to everyone!

GGuest UserNice place with central location of the Oamaru town, near Woolworth supermarket, some nice old-fashion places and beach. Nice to visit and grab photos. Hotel keeps original decoration you can feel warm with the fireplace and wooden furniture. But the room is clean with modern style.

GGuest UserDeluxe alpine view room is just a view of some trees, and a glimpse of mountain tops mostly obscured by the roofline of the next room’s balcony, and none of this can be seen from inside the room. The lift only goes to the third floor, and we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs to the fourth floor (staff did offer to assist). Spacious and clean, but very plain and basic, with all the standard equipment you find in any motel room - there is nothing “deluxe” about the room. Adjoining door to the next room had no locks - had to put a chair under the door handle. Presumably the neighbouring guests were equally anxious about this lack of privacy and security. No accessible power outlet next to the bed for charging devices. Had to pull the bedside table away from the wall and lie down on the floor to reach the power outlet behind. No heating in the bathroom, excepted for heated towel rails. Bed had a very soft topper on the mattress which was too soft and saggy, giving no support. One light switch to control the entire room, near the entrance door. No switch near the bed. Overall, the room was very over-priced for such a basic, dated, and unexceptional experience.

AAnonymous UserThe front desk and staff were very polite. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30 PM after a layover from Auckland. Check-in time was 2 PM, but they gave us a room early. However, it was in the old building (I don't think it mentioned new/old rooms when booking), and the facilities were very dated. We later paid an extra NZD 40 to upgrade to a newly renovated room, which was instantly much more comfortable. The room wasn't huge, but the twin room was enough for a family of three. The hotel garden is beautiful, and from the balcony, you can see the lake and the lakeside promenade. The view is unbeatable, and the location is superb.
