Experiencing the Higher Realms with Michael Hayes & Alisha Das Hayes | Peace Awareness Labyrinth
Jul 19, 2025 (UTC-7)
City of Los Angeles
What lies beyond the Soul Realm?
How can we know what cannot be mentally grasped—only spiritually remembered?
To speak of the realms beyond the Soul is to step into a sacred paradox. These levels of existence are beyond memory, beyond mind, and beyond words. And yet, you can know them—
Not through thought, but through direct spiritual experience.
Not through belief, but through inner awakening.
Though we may not always be aware of it, our truest nature is already anchored in these transcendent levels, even as we live and move through this world. There is a divine current—a loving force of God—that flows from beyond all planes into every level of creation. It carries perfect remembrance and offers that truth to each of us.
The master who supported us in awakening to this reality called this presence the Mystical Traveler Consciousness.
Saturday, July 19, 2025 we invite you to join us for a profoundly experiential and mystical workshop designed to help you directly access this deeper truth.
What’s Included:
Clearing of blocks, egoic distraction and fear from experiencing levels above soul
Collective energy and intention for direct experience of realms beyond the Soul
Video excerpts from John-Roger offering esoteric insights into the higher realms
A mystical talk with Michael and Alisha to explore and illuminate these esoteric teachings
A deeply immersive guided meditation to experience the higher realms
Inspiration and motivation to deepen your spiritual exercises and renew your spiritual commitment
A brief but powerful inner exercise
Mystical Q&A — including opportunities to ask personal questions about how you can experience these realms and integrate that awareness into daily life
A loving and joyful, community, both in person and online
A nourishing snack is provided
This will be our last MSIA workshop for now, and we are joyfully donating 100% of the proceeds in gratitude for all that MSIA has given.
This gathering is not about belief—it’s about knowing. A knowing that transcends thought. A remembrance that rises from within.
If your heart is stirred, we welcome you to join us in this sacred space of loving, light, and awakening.
With love and presence,
Alisha and Michael

William Klein's MR. FREEDOM (1968) - A Savage Pop Art Satire! | Philosophical Research Society
Jul 19, 2025 (UTC-7)
City of Los Angeles
As part of their July series "US Tour," 7th House is proud to present
William Klein
's brazen and bonkers pop art 60s satire
MR. FREEDOM
(1968)! Indefatigably irreverent, eye-poppingly colorful, and surrealistically silly, this underseen oddity is
an eagle-eyed, no-holds-barrred takedown of American imperialism and jingoistic nationalism like none other!
1968: As the war in Vietnam reached its peak with the most US troop deployments and casualties since the conflict began, American expatriate fashion photographer turned filmmaker William Klein (who never returned home after being stationed in France in WWII) cast his brilliant and incisive eye on the Made in the U.S. brand of toxic Manifest Destiny machismo he saw as a threat to everyone, world over. Combining the sardonic absurdity of the mod fashion mockumentary he's perhaps best known for –
WHO ARE YOU, POLLY MAGOO?
(1966)
–
and the radical political fervor of his pro North Vietnamese Army collaboration (with Godard, Varda, Marker, Resnais and more)
FAR FROM VIETNAM
(1967), Klein unleashed his hilarious, vicious lampoon of imperialist American foreign policy:
Mr. Freedom (
John Abbey
), a bellowing good-ol'-boy superhero decked out in copious football padding, jets to France to cut off a Commie invasion from Switzerland. A destructive, arrogant patriot in tight pants, Freedom joins forces with Marie Madeleine (a satirically sexy
Delphine Seyrig
) to combat lefty freethinkers, as well as the insidious evildoers Moujik Man and inflatable Red China Man, culminating in a star-spangled showdown of kitschy excess. Delightfully crass, is a trenchant, rib-tickling takedown of gaudy modern Americana.
Featuring cameos from
Donald Pleasance, Serge Gainsbourg
and more,
MR. FREEDOM
is a one-of-a-kind, bold, bright, brash, and bizarre sendup that is, alas and frightneningly, just as relevant today as it was nearly 60 years ago.
Dir. William Klein, 1968, 92 mins, France, English, Unrated (Adult Audiences Only), Digital.
Special thanks to Brian Belavorac of Janus Films.

Jewish Boyle Heights: Memories of Brooklyn Ave. | In front of the "Breed Street Shul" - Congregation Talmud Torah
Jul 20, 2025 (UTC-7)
City of Los Angeles
Jewish Boyle Heights: Memories of Brooklyn Ave.
The Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights has long been the crucible of the American immigrant, working-class experience. At one time people of dozens of nationalities and languages called this neighborhood home, and Boyle Heights was once the largest Jewish community west of Chicago. And Brooklyn Ave – today's Avenida Cesar Chavez – was it's main shopping corridor and thoroughfare.
We will visiting just a few vital sites that tell the story of the area’s Jewish history:
The Breed Street Shul – we will start our tour in front of the grand synagogue that was once the most respected Jewish house of worship on the west coast. It was one of more than 30 Jewish houses of worship in the neighborhood. We will also see the location of the first Jewish religious education institutions in Los Angeles.
The original location of Canter’s Deli, as well as the location of other local Jewish bakeries and delis; where pickle and herring barrels once tempted each passerby.
We will also see the original location various other Jewish business and institutions which are now located in other parts of Los Angeles.
The Old Mount Sinai Clinic – learn about the early history of the two hospitals on the eastside, that would one day become today’s Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.
The former site of the Monte Carlo Russian Turkish Baths.
Jewish labor socialist organizing locations: Including the Jewish Labor Committee, Workmen’s Circle, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, as well as local anarchist and communist headquarters.
The founding location of the Community Service Organization (CSO), we will learn how Jewish and Mexican local progressives helped built a multi-racial coalition and training-ground out of which the first generation of Mexican-American political and civil rights leaders would emerge.
*Note: We will not be going inside of the Breed Street Shul, which is an inactive site; but instead focusing on the community surrounding this site.
In this tour we will be retelling the story of how such a diverse immigrant community came together here in the first half of the 20th century. We will also discuss the great social challenges this community historically faced, and the movements they established. We will also discuss the forces of displacement which have historically changed the landscape of the community around us. All in order to understand the heritage of the community, as well as appreciate the challenges which are again being faced by this changing community today.
This is my basic introduction to the history of history of Jewish Boyle Heights, with a special focus on the historic alliances and partnerships established here between the Jewish and Mexican American people in this very community.
This is a wonderful event for the whole family to learn about the history of old Jewish Los Angeles!
We will be meeting in front of the Breed Street Shul – Congregation Talmud Torah, at 11:45 a.m. in order to start our talk and walking tour promptly at 12-noon.
There is limited street parking in the neighborhood. I recommend the city-run toll parking lot (682) just north of Avenida Cesar Chavez off of Breed Street, located on the east side of the street.
PUBLIC TRANSIT: I also highly recommend people taking Metro E Line to our event, exiting at Soto Station and walking just one block west and one block north to our meeting location.
Children 13 and under are free, please contact me to add them to my guest list. For current Boyle Heights educators and community activists, I will be offering a few spots on my guest list once again; please contact me at shmuel.gonzales@outlook.com, as spaces are limited.
This will be a small and intimate tour group, and it will once again fill-up quickly. So please sign up today!

Los Angeles Singles Online Trivia Night - A Fun Speed Dating Alternative | Los Angeles
Jul 22, 2025 (UTC-7)
City of Los Angeles
Get ready for a fun night of trivia on Zoom with other singles in your area! Grab some snacks or even a cocktail and come try out the singles event that's the perfect way to make new social connections. Let's face it, we're all tired of the endless swiping on dating apps and interacting with people who may or may not look like or be like the person they're portraying on the apps. A Singles Trivia Night is a much better way to meet someone because you actually get to interact with people on video (Zoom) before committing to a real life date. This is the safest and best way to meet someone!
WE DO THESE EVENTS EVERY 2 MONTHS OR SO AND WE SLIGHTLY CHANGE UP THE AGE RANGE FOR EACH EVENT. CHECK OUR UPCOMING SCHEDULE BELOW TO SEE THE AGE RANGES FOR EACH EVENT DATE. THE AGE RANGES ARE ONLY SUGGESTED MEANING THAT IF YOU'RE WITHIN A FEW YEARS OF THE AGE RANGE YOU'RE WELCOME TO ATTEND:
***************************************************************
***************************************************************
SCHEDULE:
TUESDAY MAY 27 - SUGGESTED AGE RANGE: 30s, 40s & 50s
TUESDAY JULY 22 - SUGGESTED AGE RANGE: 20s & 30s
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 16 - SUGGESTED AGE RANGE: 30s & 40s
***************************************************************
***************************************************************
HOW THE EVENT WORKS:
Our friendly host will welcome everyone and then you'll be put on a team with other singles from your area. We will have about 3 different cities on at the same time but we make sure to put you on a team with people from your city. You will work with your team to answer fun trivia questions and compete with singles from the other 2 cities in attendance.
In each round you'll go into breakout rooms where you'll get to meet, chat with and come up with your trivia question answers with the other singles in attendance (you're never put on the spot having to come up with an answer on your own... you'll always be able to consult with the group before answering so it's very low pressure, laid back and fun).
At the end of the event you'll be given contact info of the people you'd like to stay in touch with (as platonic friends to hang out with or as potential dating partners).
THIS IS THE PERFECT EVENT TO....
Find that special someone!
Make new friends in your area!
Meet other like minded singles!
Meet some fun wingmen and/or wingwomen!
Meet new activity partners in your area!
Expand your social circle!
Once you sign up, you'll be given a link to join a group of other singles via video on Zoom. All you need is a laptop, phone or tablet to take part in the event. You'll enjoy an evening of fun trivia. We balance the questions making sure there are plenty of different topics and difficulty levels so everyone will have a good time. Our friendly host will be with you live on Zoom orchestrating the most fun trivia event you've ever been to!
STAY IN TOUCH WITH ANYONE YOU MEET!
At the end of the event all of the attendees are invited to put their email address in the chat box to the event host. The event host will then send an email to all attendees containing everyone's email address so you can contact whomever you'd like. If you're not comfortable putting your "every day" email address you can use an alternative email address or you can make another email address to use for the event. Yahoo, Outlook and Gmail allow you create several free email addresses and setting one up takes about 3 minutes. Then after the event you can feel free to email any people you'd like to see again. If people email you it's up to you if you'd like to reply to them.
EVENT DETAILS:
About 85% of people sign up by themself so don't worry if you're coming on alone! Our host will make introductions and put you on a team with other singles from your city! It's a fantastic way to meet new people and we've witnessed countless friendships formed and love connections sparked at this event.
You're never put on the spot to come up with answers... you'll be working with your team to answer the questions. You'll answer great trivia questions in all of your favorite categories like pop culture, history, entertainment (music, movies & TV), arts & literature, science and more. The winning team gets a prize!
* We have several unique rounds of trivia which keeps it really fun and exciting. Some rounds are like traditional trivia nights (simply answering trivia questions), other rounds are totally unique and change at each event. Sometimes we may show you a series of photos and ask you trivia questions about the photos, other times we play games like "Reverse Family Feud" where you'd have to guess the least popular answers to our question (it's soooo much fun!), or sometimes we'll play a "Find The Common Link" game where you'll have to answer some questions and figure out the common link between all the answers like this:
Question #1: A Tomato Based Dip
Question #2: A High Stakes Scenario Might Be Described As Make-Or-What?
Questions #3: The 2005 Film About Johnny Cash Is "Walk The _________"?
Question #4: What German-Austrian Actor's Breakout Role Came In Quentin Tarantino's Film Inglourious Basterds?
Answers: #1: Salsa #2: Break #3: Line #4: Cristoph Waltz
You and your team would have to first answer the questions and then figure out that the common link between the answers is "Dance".
* QUICK NOTE: THERE ARE LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT SO SIGN UP ASAP TO MAKE SURE YOU GET A SPOT *

How do I join the event? After you sign up on to Eventbrite we will send you a link with an invitation to join the event on Zoom. We'll send you that link by the day of the event. If for some reason you don't see an email from us by the event date, make sure to check your spam folder in case it ended up there by accident.
How long does the event last? One hour and 45 miutes
How many will be participating? We expect between 15 and 30 people (it varies from event to event).
Is there a refund policy? If you need to cancel, please email us and we can transfer you to a future event. However we do not offer transfers if you cancel on the day of the event or don't show up.
WHY THIS EVENT WORKS!
For many years we organized in person traditional speed dating events. While waiting for everyone to show up, the host would do some trivia questions as icebreakers to "kill time" until everyone arrived. We noticed something fascinating begin to happen. People got to know each other better and made more connections during the trivia than they did during the actual speed dating rounds! The trivia questions sparked so much conversation that we thought, "Wow, we should make an entire event like this!". And that is how our Singles Trivia Night was started!
THESE EVENTS WILL LIKELY SELL OUT BY EVENT TIME AND WE HAVE LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE AT EACH EVENT SO GRAB YOUR TICKET ASAP!

The Brain-Computer Revolution: Engineering the Future of Thought | Los Angeles
Jul 22, 2025 (UTC-7)
City of Los Angeles
Walk, talk, think, see and feel: these fundamental actions are governed by the brain's complex electrical symphony. This lecture explores the revolutionary field of
Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs)
, which seeks to decode this neural language and create a direct pathway between the human mind and external technology.
____
We will examine the core principles of BCI, from non-invasive systems like EEG that read brainwaves from the scalp to highly precise, surgically implanted electrodes. You will learn how these interfaces translate thoughts into commands, allowing individuals with paralysis to control prosthetic limbs, communicate, and interact with the world in ways previously confined to science fiction.
Beyond medical restoration, we will also confront the profound ethical questions and future possibilities of this technology. Could BCIs enhance memory, accelerate learning, or even enable new forms of communication? Join us for a fascinating journey to the cutting edge of neuroscience and engineering to understand a technology that is not only changing lives but also challenging our very definition of what it means to be human.
Target Audience:
This highly-interactive virtual lecture is designed for a broad audience and requires no prerequisite knowledge. It is especially relevant for students and professionals in neuroscience, medicine, engineering, computer science, and philosophy. It will also appeal to anyone in the general public with a curiosity for groundbreaking technology, medical advancements, and the future of the human experience.
