In Session 1, you will learn how to effectively perform your written work. Whether you bring your own poem or use one provided, you will explore various performing techniques and receive live feedback and encouragement. Key topics include voice projection, pacing, engaging with the audience, and body language.
Session 2 focuses on developing your performing persona and voice. Discover who your stage persona is, how they sound, and what topics they want to explore. This workshop will dive into the art of performative language and using it effectively in your writing. By the end of the session, you will have performed a short piece of your own work and received valuable feedback.
For those who have attended previous sessions or have experience in performance, Session 3 offers the opportunity for further practice and coaching. Each performer will receive 5 minutes of live coaching to refine their skills. Topics covered include gaze, silence, gesture, memorizing and practicing, and dealing with nerves.
