"Our stay at Granbell Hotel Colombo was excellent and easily one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. The hotel offers stunning ocean views, beautifully designed modern rooms, and a fantastic rooftop infinity pool that is perfect for relaxing, especially during sunset. The location is convenient for exploring Colombo while still offering a peaceful atmosphere. One suggestion for improvement: our booking was made well in advance, and the full payment had also been completed before arrival. Since we were traveling as a family group, we had expected our rooms to be allocated on the same floor or at least close to each other. However, the rooms were assigned on different floors, which was a bit inconvenient. We kindly request that the hotel consider prioritizing room allocation for families and groups in such situations. Overall, Granbell Hotel provides outstanding value for money with its excellent hospitality, premium facilities, and memorable ambience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo, whether for leisure or business. We would definitely choose to stay here again!"

"I booked a 6-bed female dorm but when checking in, they said I will be in 4-bed. Upgrading...it has only 2 persons, me and another foreigner. It has a private bathroom in the room. The interior is nice. It's located near KFC, tacobell, bread talk, and a supermarket chain. And also bus stops near by to Colombo Fort both train station and bus stand. I can't find another good hostel around Colombo."

"Although I checked in late and missed the sunset, the location was fantastic. I stayed in a Signature Plus Seaview Twin Room this time. The amenities were plentiful, and the shower pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was also delicious. However, I recommend dining indoors for breakfast. On the terrace, birds (crows) were eyeing the food. While the staff were constantly vigilant, some guests still had their food snatched when the staff weren't looking. The adjoining shopping center isn't particularly large, but it's perfect for a post-meal stroll or to kill a bit of time. The main reason I chose this hotel was definitely the infinity pool! Since it was the rainy season, I took advantage of breaks in the weather to use it, and it was truly amazing. I wish I could have stayed for two or more nights to enjoy it more leisurely. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay, and I would love to stay at this hotel again."

"This hotel is truly unique, steeped in history, and they do a wonderful job of preserving its century-old heritage while still embracing the 21st century. Everything is excellent, the staff are friendly and respectful, really valuing old-school service traditions. There's even a museum showcasing famous past guests like Anton Chekhov and Yuri Gagarin. The 20-meter saltwater pool, right on the Indian Ocean, is simply fantastic for relaxing when the sea is rough. As I mentioned, the rooms are styled from the 1960s-70s, and you even get the charming creak of the floors and stairs. The hotel team clearly puts a lot of effort into maintaining the property against the forces of time and the ocean's weather. The dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is a story in itself. You can explore not just local cuisine, but dishes from across South Asia. The chefs and restaurant staff really strive to make your stay here an enriching culinary journey into local culture and traditions. If it's your first time in Sri Lanka, I highly recommend this hotel for your initial introduction to the country. Despite the cost, it offers great value, especially considering its convenient location near Colombo's main attractions."

"I really made the right choice; it was incredibly clean and comfortable, totally worth the four-star price and quality. The breakfast was very generous. Most importantly, everything felt new and cozy, unlike the dampness you get in older hotels. This place was clean and dry, which is quite rare. The lunch buffet was 3800 per person including tax, and I felt it was excellent value for money with a great variety of food. For 700, it included breakfast, and they even let us check in two hours early and extended our check-out to 1 PM. I absolutely loved it!"

"Great location, close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars, and One Galle Face Mall. The hotel is well kept albeit old. The pool is great. Beautiful and cozy lobby and cafe. The greatest of all is the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Taj Samudra is the perfect home away from home whenever in Colombo. Will definitely stay here again."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Stay at Jetwing Sea, Negombo Our family stayed at Jetwing Sea from 11th June 2026 to 17th June 2026, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel offers beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, spacious and well-maintained rooms, and a wonderful atmosphere that made our vacation memorable. A special note of appreciation goes to Mr. Kelum Jayawera (General Manager), whose professionalism, leadership, and warm hospitality were evident throughout our stay. His dedication to guest satisfaction is reflected in the exceptional service provided by the entire team. We would also like to sincerely thank Mr. Kushlohko (Manager), Ms. Oshadi (Front Office Executive), Mr. Rumesh (Assistant Housekeeper), Mr. Sakuna (Barman), Mr. Manchonayaka (Senior Barman), and Mr. Prabash (Beverage Service Boy) for their kindness, friendliness, and willingness to assist us at every opportunity. "We had a lovely room on the facing the beach The bathroom was big and had a tub and shower. The bathroom amenities were also good. The room was huge but the AC was a little cold and it was hard to adjust. breakfast was ok had a few different things but not a huge range. Didn't use the pool looked a little small."

"This was our second time visiting this hotel. We were pretty impressed during our first time but sad to say that this time there were so many disappointments. We had to change rooms 5 times due to various issues. When we checked in and proceeded to our first room, it smelt of cigarette smoke. We changed to another room and it smelt of awful toilet smell. We changed to another room and stayed there for a night, realizing we were covered with insect bites all over our body the next morning. We then changed another room where the aircon was very dusty and the room was very dusty as well. We adjusted to that but I fell sick the next day due to the dust. My husband requested for another change and they finally only then gave us an upgrade of a room but we were already half way through our stay. Housekeeping service was not always prompt and I had to call in a couple of times just for water and towels. Breakfast was really good. Sadly, I won’t be coming back to stay again due to all these issues. Hopefully management can work towards bettering it."

"Our family of three checked into the hotel during the first week of May 2025. Unfortunately, our overall experience was underwhelming. Room service was disappointing, our order was incorrect, and we chose not to send it back as we assumed it would take a long time to receive the correct one. It also took three separate calls just to receive the room service menu. Additionally, we were charged for ice despite having an active room service food bill, which felt unreasonable. When we inquired about evening entertainment (Friday eve), the front desk assured us a live band would be performing, but this never happened. It appeared the resort seems to operate with minimal staff, which may explain the drop in service quality. On a positive note, we were warmly welcomed by a great host at check-in, and the barman at the pool bar made excellent cocktails and provided friendly service. Hopefully, this could be just a rare slip-up."
