I had an amazing experience here. Upon arrival, I even received a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a wonderful surprise. The hotel is brand new, and everything feels fresh and well maintained. The owner is incredibly helpful and goes out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He’s always ready to answer questions or give advice. He also runs his own travel agency, and through him, I visited Tashkurgan — definitely a trip worth taking and a highlight of my journey. In short: an excellent stay with outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Had a fantastic stay at Toglenxia Village. The scenery on the way to the hotel was absolutely beautiful, and the entire Riverside Park is right next door – I imagine it's even more stunning in the summer! The hotel room was clean and tidy. In the mornings, you can watch the sunrise illuminate the snow-capped mountains, and at night, you can stargaze. I didn't manage to catch the Milky Way during my visit, but the sky was absolutely filled with stars, making it truly worth another trip. BTW, the dog, Niangao, is super cute! 🐶

This guesthouse immediately caught my eye when I was browsing accommodations. My friends and I chose the 'Bahar' room, which perfectly matched our aesthetic preferences. It's genuinely beautiful, featuring a bright, airy window. The entire guesthouse also boasts a wonderful ethnic charm. **Cleanliness:** Spotless. We arrived quite early, and a staff member was still diligently sanitizing the room. **Service:** Excellent. The owner was incredibly kind and gracious, and communication was very smooth. They even helped us with our luggage. **Location:** There are plenty of great restaurants nearby. It's also very conveniently located close to the Old City and the Gaotai Dwellings. **Facilities:** Excellent. It seems guests can even use the kitchen to cook here.

I stayed at this hotel with my dog. It's located in an old street with Xinjiang-style architecture. The room even had a long balcony, which was great for enjoying the view in the morning. There are also plenty of food options right next to the hotel. The front desk staff was very kind. Even though she was a little scared of my dog, she still wanted to pet his head a lot. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Turpan with their pet!

Traveling with my parents, our main requirements were spaciousness, cleanliness, and warmth. The two-bedroom suite we booked was very spacious, and the washbasin had two sinks, which was very convenient. The cleanliness was excellent, and the service was warm and welcoming. They responded to any questions immediately. For the air conditioning, make sure to select the heating mode first, then press the auxiliary heating button, or ask the butler to adjust it for you. It's been quite cold lately, so we needed to use the heating mode. With the air conditioning on, it was very warm. The two-bedroom suite had two large beds and two air conditioners. There were candles in the common area at night, creating a lovely atmosphere. In summer, the swimming pool in the common area would be even more beautiful for photos.

The guesthouse we stayed at was fantastic! Not only was it clean and tidy, but it was also incredibly convenient. Xunjiang Bieyuan is located just 100 meters from the west gate of the old city's western district, right behind the popular Rainbow Lane and Budai Lane – a dream come true for anyone who loves night views. The guesthouse owner, a young man born in the 2000s, was incredibly warm and friendly. He's a third-year university student majoring in hotel management, and his fluent English made communication with the foreign guests very easy. Seeing him see us off early in the morning, greet us late at night, and offer us tea, snacks, and fruit warmed our hearts! His recommendations for Kashgar delicacies like pigeon soup, braised pork, and pilaf were all excellent. I highly recommend staying at Xunjiang Bieyuan when visiting the old city!

We had a wonderful stay. The location was excellent, close to everything we needed, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful. She made us feel very welcome from the beginning. We were able to park our bicycles safely in the hallway, which was very convenient for us. Since we needed to cross the border, she went out of her way to help us by providing detailed information about the officials and even arranging a taxi. This was especially helpful because we didn’t have WeChat, and it made the whole process much easier for us. Thanks to her support, everything went smoothly, and we could truly relax and enjoy our time. We would definitely recommend staying here and would happily come back in the future.

The rooms are comfortable and upscale, and it's a 5-minute drive from the self-driving entrance to the Qiaokajun scenic area. I'd never ridden a horse before, but I learned at the hotel's equestrian center – it was fantastic! Horse riding and archery were quite challenging for someone from the south like me, but the coach was very patient. It's rare to see stars in Shanghai... this place with a sky full of stars and no light pollution at night was absolutely beautiful. Moving the in-room telescope to the patio for stargazing was amazing!

I'm not a shill, but I highly recommend it! First of all, the public area and toilet in the room are very clean, and the auntie cleans every day. The location is very good, just opposite the alley of Qiuci, and not far from the attractions in the city. The decoration of the house is very unique, it's very interesting to live in the room, and it's super cool to sit in the yard and chat and eat! The most important thing is that the atmosphere is really good, the boss and the clerk are super nice, and all the brothers and friends I met are very good. I stayed for three days and ate or shared meals every day (it was super delicious Han food, friends who want to eat vegetables and Han food are saved 😭, and I also ate zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival), and I also took the brother's car to visit attractions outside the city. Haha. Anyway, I had a very happy three days.

The room is nice, the yard is clean, there is a garden, an area for drying clothes, a restaurant, and there is a front desk guy who is almost my grandfather's age, and he is very smooth when checking in. Seeing that he is older, he is super enthusiastic to help a few of us carry our luggage! ! ! ! Being warmed! Starry Sky Room is really recommended! You can really see the stars at night. The only thing is that you are woken up by the dazzling sunlight in the middle of your sleep! (I tried to pass the test at night and couldn’t do it because it was too late, so I didn’t bother)

TTravis and ElishaWow! What an amazing place to stay and how lucky we were to find it. By far the best place we stayed in China. Mrs. Li (the owner) was so genuinely nice and caring, and we felt like part of the family staying there. One of my favorite things in Kashgar was hanging out with her and her family in the evenings. She always invited us at night to hangout in the common area where she would make us tea and share her fresh and dried fruits with us. She was really good at using a translator app, so we were able to have a good conversation with her through that. She has a great little family. Her son speaks good English and was also very nice. She had a young daughter who also speaks English, but is more shy with it (though she will sing you a Taylor Swift song..she has a great voice). They have 3 cats and the youngest one, little tiger, is just the sweetest and the friendliest cat I have ever met. It was such a good and warm feeling to stay there. We definitely wish we could visit again. A home away from home. And we were treated so generously in more ways than we can write here. Mrs. Li asked us right away if there was anything she could help us with, without us having to ask, which we really appreciated, and she took the time to sit down with us to go over our plans. She let us store our luggage for 3 days and walked us out to help us get a taxi when we departed. While it was the family that made it simply amazing, some might also be interested in the following information. The location is great. On a quiet street. Close to the big mosque which is a good landmark to use to find the area. And of course close to the old city. It's also really close to the biggest supermarket we have found thus far in China (we have to admit it was nice to get a few ”luxuries” from home like cereal and hot chocolate). The guesthouse is cute and has a Central Asian feel. The shower works great and is hot. We were there in the winter, and the room has heat if you needed it. Mrs. Li was able to arrange a driver for us to go to Tashkorgun and the Karakorum Highway, which was super helpful. The place was nice and clean. Thank you so much Mrs. Li! You will be a highlight of our visit to China and will be remembered in our hearts forever. -Travis and Elisha (Colorado, USA) PS: when we get home I'm going to try to write up a bit about our trip on Tripadvisor because I couldn't find anything about Kashgar on trip advisor since covid, and some things have changed, so I thought it might be helpful for fellow travelers, so look for that.

JJill CassandraA Hidden Gem That Feels Like Coming Home Tucked away in the embrace of raw, untouched nature, MuseNomad Retreat is the kind of place that feels almost too beautiful to be real — like stepping into a postcard. Yet behind the picture-perfect setting is something even more special: the kind of warmth and care that turns a stay into a memory. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. The owners go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels at ease. One gesture I’ll never forget — I was rushing for a tour and hadn’t managed to press my clothes. Though there’s a laundry room available, the owner personally helped me iron them, refusing any payment. That small act of kindness stayed with me. We’ve stayed in many retreats claiming to offer luxury, but this place redefines what true luxury means. Here, you pay a 3-star rate and receive a 5-star experience in comfort, sincerity, and service. The rooms are cleaned daily with meticulous attention to detail — we were even touched to find our own tea and coffee sachets neatly arranged by housekeeping. Meals were another highlight. The food has that unmistakable home-cooked feel — warm, nourishing, made with care. When they learned I don’t eat beef or mutton, the kitchen prepared special dishes just for me, without a fuss. That kind of consideration is rare and deeply appreciated. And how could I forget Tian Tian — the gentle, lovable golden retriever who quietly added to the homey atmosphere. Her presence made the stay even more special, like having a sweet companion always nearby. MuseNomad Retreat isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to truly rest. Of all the accommodations we’ve experienced across our travels, this one touched us the most. As our three nights came to a close, I felt a genuine sadness — a quiet wish that we could stay just a little longer. If you’re looking for a restful, heartfelt escape where nature, comfort, and kindness meet, this is the place. MuseNomad Retreat is not just somewhere we stayed — it’s somewhere we’ll remember fondly, and miss dearly.

GGuest UserThis hotel is not perfect but overall I had an amazing stay. First, the woman on reception is very friendly and helpful. She let me check in early as I arrived from Urumqi at 8am. Thanks to her I was able to get a good sleep before I started exploring the old town. She even gave me yogurt and granola so I wouldn't have an empty stomach. Despite the language barrier, she was patient with me and was always willing to help. The location could not get any better. It's inside the ancient town so you can easily walk to shops, restaurants and cafes. Cars are not allowed in the ancient city but that wasn't a problem -the hotel is roughly a 5 minute walk from one of the entrances to the old town so it's very convenient to walk there to take a taxi, find a bus stop etc. The decor of the entire hotel is beautiful and fits in very well with the asthetic of the old town. I just wish the communal areas on the roof top was better maintained. It is starting to look a bit shabby. Overall I was happy with my room but there are some things I wasn't pleased about. First, apart from the tables on both sides of the bed, the other cabinets in the room were for show -they don't actually open, meaning there is very little storage space. Also, I like having a window I'm my room so I can feel less claustrophobic. I paid extra for a courtyard view. That's because I wanted to see the courtyard. However, I opened the curtain, and I found out that the windows are opaque. I opened the windows as far as I could without banging the TV, and there's a barrier over the windows. I understand they have these measures for privacy but in my opinions, curtains are enough. That definitely dampened my experience. Lastly, the walls are extremely thin, meaning almost every night I was woken up by other people making noise in the courtyard. Overall I am happy with my experience and I would book here again next time I visit Kashgar, but I would book a room with a city view instead for the reasons mentioned above.

CChenruiyanThis is a diligently run resort inn. The room design and hardware quality are clearly held to high standards – Kohler toilets, Dyson hairdryers, and remote-controlled blackout skylights are all testaments to this. However, there's a noticeable gap in design taste and construction quality compared to chain hotels. The biggest issue might be the water supply; shower pressure can be unstable at times, and the temperature can fluctuate. The staff are all very attentive and helpful, always ready to assist and answer questions. The inn has a parking lot, a free shuttle service to the ski resort, and free laundry (staff take clothes to be machine washed and then return them, hung up to dry in the room). Two German Shepherds love playing with guests, and their favorite game is tug-of-war with plastic snow shovels.

GGuest UserStaying at the Nalati Meet the Stars Wild Luxury Camp was absolutely worth it! Xiao Chen, the butler who contacted us beforehand, was incredibly thoughtful. He clearly explained all the activities available at the camp via WeChat, and even helped us with our luggage upon arrival. When we asked for an extra blanket, and there weren't any spare due to full occupancy, the manager actually went out and bought new ones – that's incredible efficiency! We got caught in the rain returning from the scenic area in the afternoon, and Xiao Chen immediately brought us an umbrella, and even arranged afternoon tea and a mini hot pot for us. Although we were a bit disappointed we couldn't have a bonfire, waking up to the sight of snow-capped mountains the next day was breathtaking! After breakfast, the butler even arranged for a photographer to take pictures, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. He also helped us with our luggage when we left. While the rain did slightly affect our experience, the service was truly exceptional, and our stay was incredibly comfortable.

CChina TravellerPerfect location above the lively old town main food street with nicely decorated, spacious rooms and a balcony where it is easy to relax and people watch on the street below. Fast WiFi too, and a powerful aircon unit. Definitely recommended. We liked it so much we returned for a second, longer stay. (Note that being in the pedestrian-only old city you can’t drive directly to the hotel but it’s only 5 minutes walk from the nearest taxi drop-off and about 10 minutes walk from public parking.)

GGuest UserI stayed two nights, trying both a triple room and a family room. I found the family room to be larger and more comfortable, with a larger bathroom and washroom. The family room was clean, well-equipped, and the bedding was comfortable. The surroundings were quiet and noise-free, parking was convenient, and the hostess was welcoming and attentive. It was a truly wonderful experience.

DDuoduomumuYining is our favorite city overall. There are fruit trees all around the road. Apple trees, cherry trees, apricot trees, and most importantly, they are all mulberry trees. You can experience the fun of eating mulberries while walking! The owner of the B&B is really warm and welcoming. The room decoration and design are also very good. The breakfast made by the aunt in the morning is also delicious. The whole small garden is very beautiful! Also remember to ask the proprietress for tips and recommendations on local restaurants! PPupuzhangThe owner was incredibly kind, almost to the point of being embarrassing. They helped us store our luggage in advance and even carried our suitcases upstairs during check-in. When we came back in the middle of the night, they even let us use a different room to shower, and they didn't treat us any differently just because we booked a special offer room. Their hospitality really made me feel much more positive about this city. The inn is conveniently located not far from the entrance of Liuxing Street and also close to the bus station, making it very easy for transportation and transfers. This was especially convenient after a long day of sightseeing; being able to walk straight upstairs after strolling down Liuxing Street, even past midnight, was a huge plus. The hallway and room have a nostalgic feel, reminding me of guesthouses from my childhood. The air conditioning and walls, however, are very new. I could tell they take hygiene seriously from the bathroom; the cleaning supplies were very comprehensive.
