Kamo Hotels with balcony

"I stayed for five nights and chose Imahama Tokyu Hotel over Shimoda Tokyu Hotel, mainly because it's within walking distance to the station, even without using the hotel shuttle. We arrived in Tokyo at 2 PM by plane, so we definitely missed the hotel shuttle. We took a train to Imahama station ourselves, but that station was a pain – no elevator, so we had to carry all our luggage down. Also, the Izu area at night can be a bit spooky with limited street lighting. Ms. Masaki, who checked us in, was very friendly. Later, she even provided emergency first aid for my family and me, which was much appreciated. However, some individual staff members at this hotel weren't very friendly towards foreign guests. Perhaps it's because they mainly cater to local tour groups. Some rude interactions made me uncomfortable, but this was only with a few staff members; most were friendly. Breakfast quality was decent and offered a good variety. Due to personal taste, my options were limited, but every morning there was a freshly prepared item, and they were all quite good. I especially liked the tempura fish and croquettes. The young man frying the croquettes was also very enthusiastic. This hotel also provides a microwave, ice machine, washing machine, and dryer. We didn't use the washing machine and dryer due to questionable hygiene concerns, but the microwave was very convenient. We'd often return to our room in the afternoon for a break and could easily heat up some simple food. The room cleaning service was excellent; it was spotless every day. My only regret is that the sofa bed was uncomfortable. When unfolded, the headrest area sank in, causing neck pain, unlike sofa beds in other hotels. Of course, Ms. Masaki did suggest upgrading to a room with a proper bed for an extra charge during check-in, but I decided against it due to the cost. Additionally, there were a lot of mosquitoes and flying insects in the summer here. We killed several mosquitoes and flies in our room and were bitten during breakfast. After the first night when we enjoyed the view from the balcony, we didn't dare open it again because there were too many bugs, especially at night. I suggest the hotel implements some pest control measures, like mosquito repellent lamps or wall-mounted insecticides (my family uses these every summer to treat our balcony walls)."

"The hot spring was very comfortable; it's essentially a small, rural inn offering a one-night stay with two meals. The food was just okay, and there were mosquitoes in the hotel, which wasn't ideal. Also, Chinese tourists should be aware that to the left of the hotel's main entrance, there's a large monument inscribed with something like ”In memory of the heroic spirits of the Imperial Army.” Given the significant number of Chinese guests, I'd suggest the hotel consider their feelings and perhaps reorient the main entrance. (Actually, the hotel has a back entrance facing the sea, which allows you to bypass the monument)."

"A quiet onsen town, with traditional Japanese rooms. It's slowly becoming commercialized, and fewer places offer dinner and breakfast served in your room these days. This stay, however, was a great experience. Since it was our anniversary, the staff even arranged for us to have a pair of mandarin ducks in our room. They took photos of us and gifted them to us at check-out, which was a lovely touch. We visited on a weekday, so the public bath felt almost like a private one. Enjoying the public bath all to ourselves, gazing at the ocean and listening to the waves, was incredibly relaxing. The hotel's shuttle bus is super convenient, getting guests to Izu-Atagawa Station in just a minute."

"The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and hygienic. There's a self-service bar with drinks, a variety of alcoholic beverages, and snacks. You can also enjoy a hot spring bath on the cliffside and watch the sunset. It's definitely one of the top three hotels on the west coast of Izu!"

"Very amazing, breakfast is simply too rich! There are almost no people in the hotel soup pool. It is a child who stays in this house and will ask for an extra charge, so if you bring a child, you must communicate with the hotel in advance. "This is the hot spring hotel I was most satisfied with during my trip to Izu. There is a 24-hour convenience store right at the door. The hotel shuttle bus is very convenient. I called the hotel as soon as I arrived at Atagawa Station. I saw the staff holding a sign when I got out of the station. It takes about 5 minutes to drive to the hotel. In fact, the hotel is just a little above the station, but it is still very troublesome to walk and you have to take a detour. The front desk was very welcoming, and there was a Japanese aunt who introduced the hotel's hot springs and restaurants along the way and sent us to the room. She also helped to introduce the room facilities, which gave people a very friendly feeling. During the meal, there was a young man with a ********* accent who served us, served the dishes and introduced them in detail. The meal included Atagawa's local specialties and golden eye seabream. Although the taste was a bit light and sweet, it was okay to try. After dinner, I went to experience the hot springs. There are several indoor and outdoor pools. The next morning, breakfast was very delicious, and I felt it was better than dinner. 😋 After checking out, I was sent to the station and caught the sea-viewing train Golden Eye Seabream."

"This is the best hotel for this trip to Japan, and it is also the hotel with the best value for money. I will stay here for a few more days if I have the chance. The hotel is on a cliff by the sea, with new facilities and a sense of design. The rooms, restaurant and hot springs are decorated and arranged very carefully. All of them are sea view rooms, and the windows are large floor-to-ceiling glass, with an unobstructed view of the sea view, which is very enjoyable. The restaurant's breakfast and dinner ingredients are fresh, and the ingredients and plating are very particular. The main focus is on seafood, and the portions are full. The staff is warm, thoughtful and meticulous in their service. The hotel also provides free shuttle bus service from Atagawa Station to the hotel. It is a very cost-effective hotel, highly recommended"

"This was my first solo trip to Japan, and it was a spontaneous decision. Due to my procrastination, I only started booking accommodations two days in advance. Hotels near Izu Kogen and Atami were all booked, so I booked this place. But once I arrived, I felt incredibly comfortable. The hotel is in a very quiet location with beautiful scenery. The hotel facilities are also very new, and the staff are all incredibly warm and welcoming. There were Chinese ladies, as well as Japanese gentlemen and ladies. They were very polite, not in a distant or aloof way, but in a sunny, cheerful, and warm manner. Dinner was also delicious, with lobster, abalone, and many different ways of preparing golden snapper – it was all so fresh! In the morning, a soak in the hot spring is all it takes to head to Izu Kogen. I really, really want to come back here again. Personally, I don't want too many people to discover this wonderful hotel, as I'm worried I won't be able to book it later, but I still really hope they continue to improve."

"Facilities: Only 300m from Irozaki hot spring, facing the sea. They have staff who speak Chinese, and there's a shuttle bus to Kitagawa Station at fixed times. Experience: The beautiful Izu Station sign says that if you make a wish under the moonlight on a full moon night, it will come true. How touching! And you can make a wish at the rooftop open-air hot spring at night. Bonus: There's a self-service drink machine on the 2nd floor, good for when you're thirsty. Summary: The most beautiful part of Japan is its countryside. There isn't even a 7-Eleven here, just a small Mola mola (sunfish) shop where the grandma and grandpa only accept cash. You can fish by the shore, and on a clear day, the sea is crystal clear and icy cold. Paired with the warm water of Irozaki hot springs, it makes you forget about time. At night, the moonlight spreads across the sea like a shimmering blanket. Make a wish on the full moon; beauty transcends nationality. I just wish for world peace."

"Ambiance: The scenery is absolutely stunning! Stepping out onto the balcony from the French windows and being right in front of the sea is just incredibly relaxing. Cleanliness: The room was very clean and spacious. Facilities: All the amenities you could ask for, including hot springs, a heated pool, a restaurant, and a coffee shop.
