"Staying overnight at an onsen ryokan in Yufu is truly a dream come true. The hotel is nestled in the mountains, about a kilometer's walk from Lake Kinrin, but it's an uphill climb. Luckily, we had our luggage forwarded beforehand, so pushing the stroller up was manageable, albeit a bit of a struggle. Since we were traveling with a child, we booked a suite in the main building. The space was incredibly generous, featuring a living room and a large bedroom, each with its own tea-drinking and scenic view areas. This allowed adults and children to enjoy their activities without disturbing each other. Our room had a private hot spring bath, or we could walk across the courtyard to the main public bathhouse. Soaking in the evening or before sunrise in the morning was incredibly relaxing. Hotel staff could communicate in English, which was very convenient. It was interesting to note that they would return to town to rest after 10 PM, so there were no staff members on duty overnight. Ctrip always seems to have unclear descriptions for the 'one-night, two-meal' plan at Japanese ryokans. Our booking showed meals for three people, but this particular ryokan charged different accommodation fees based on the child's age. Our 2-year-old was charged 3300 yen, which didn't include meals, only free rice. However, the adult meal portions were very generous, and sharing from the hot pot was more than enough. On the second morning, you can book a taxi to the station at the hotel's front desk. Check-out time is 10 AM."

"This hotel is definitely one of the best I've ever stayed at. Thank you to all the staff for their friendly service; it made us want to stay forever! The room facilities were excellent, spacious and clean, the hot spring was fantastic, and the whole hotel was very unique! Most importantly, dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious, Michelin-level quality, and we were completely full! 👏🏻 I will definitely visit again if I have the chance!"

Hotel near Yufuin Onsen,Yufu
Nestled in one of the quieter areas of Yufuin, Yufumomiji is a traditional Japanese ryokan where guests can unwind in a serene, nature-filled setting. All 14 guest rooms are equipped with private baths—12 feature open-air baths that allow you to enjoy the changing seasons, while the remaining 2 rooms offer indoor-style baths located outdoors, ensuring a fully private and relaxing experience. The property also features separate public baths for men and women, providing a space to relax both body and mind. Dinner is served as a seasonal kaiseki course highlighting carefully selected ingredients, while breakfast is a wholesome traditional Japanese set meal. Conveniently located just a 5-minute drive from Yufuin Station, the ryokan also offers a shuttle service, combining accessibility with a peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds.

"Location about 2 km from Yufuin town and the tourist attractions around Lake Kinrin. So if you come by public transport not driving, it is a bit far. But advantage is serenity. Breakfast is great and service friendly. Onsen in our room is lovely. Just not too used to 1] no phone in room to allow communication with hotel staff; 2] nowhere (such as hooks on the wall or behind doors) to hang clothing or towels - a couple of coat hangers in wardrobe are not enough and 3] no daily cleaning of room."

"It was evening when we arrived, and there wasn't much service, just a simple check-in. The room was quite old, but it's very convenient because it's close to the station, about a 10-minute walk. The roads in Yufuin are narrow and uneven, so pushing luggage was tiring, which made even a 10-minute walk feel long. The value for money isn't great; it's old and small, and everything inside looks like it's from the 90s."

Even though all the appliances were on at one point, and the breaker did trip, the power was restored quickly (someone was showering, someone was cooking, someone had the heater on and was watching TV at the time)."

"Everything was perfect in this hotel! Room is spacious and there are both indoor and outdoor private onsen in the room. The futon was the softest and most comfortable I’ve ever had in Japanese onsen hotels. Dinner was amazing and breakfast was good enough. It would be better if we can choose Japanese or Western style for breakfast. We was looking for grilled fish or sth in Japanese style. Will visit again definitely!"

Each room is housed in its own private building, featuring an open-air bath with a continuous flow of natural hot spring water and panoramic views of Mount Yufu and the townscape of Yufuin.

"The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, which I really appreciated. I was also amazed that the meals offered during our two-night stay were all different, with no重複ing ingredients! We could freely use the open-air hot spring right in our private villa, and the family bath was also exclusive to us when in use, ensuring a private and enjoyable experience. The pick-up and drop-off service to Yufuin Station made getting around very convenient, so the accessibility was great. This was my first time staying at a Japanese ryokan, and I truly felt well taken care of. I had such a wonderful and relaxing time that I definitely want to go back!"

"A great place for one stay and two meals 😬 The hostess was very welcoming and the roast beef for dinner was very delicious. We didn’t understand Japanese but she was still very patient and used the translation tool to explain the different parts of the beef to ensure that the guests chose the desired parts. For example, Wagyu beef has fat and heel. Thin and so on. There is an outdoor and private open-air bath, which is very suitable for family guests. And there is a parking space right outside the door, which is very convenient. Highly recommended👍"

"I feel that any words can't express my wonderful experience, maybe it's more appropriate to use pictures. The Imperial Su is located in a calm countryside, there are not many tourists this season, the house is very new, there are 7 rooms, each yard has a private soup. According to the waiter, they have another old store nearby. This shop was originally a restaurant, so the meal was perfect, the visual feast plus the taste bud feast, I can say my luck is too good."

We have a grand nature here in Kyusyu that can favorably compare with Hokkaido.

"The hotel situated in the mountain, location is not convenient, would recommend to drive is better. We had called the hotel front desk a day before to arrange a discounted taxi from Yafin station to the hotel. The front desk receptionist speaks very well English which is very easy to communicate. Overall hotel is nice and clean, very quiet environment to relax. At night, you can see plenty of stars in the sky which is very beautiful."

This was my first time staying at this onsen ryokan, and it was a fantastic experience! The ryokan is in a great location, very close to Lake Kinrin, making for an easy stroll. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the common areas were also beautifully designed. The biggest surprise was the private in-room onsen; it was much larger than I expected and incredibly relaxing. The food quality was excellent, and what was even more thoughtful was how attentive the staff were: they carefully checked beforehand to ensure there were no allergens in my food, which made me feel completely at ease. If I get the chance, I'll definitely stay here again!

The feeling of home We did not book dinner and after doing research chose to eat at Golden Lake Breakfast was OK but also grateful to make the right choice not to be there for dinner Because the food is more Japanese if you want to eat traditional Japanese cuisine there may be a gap Between ancient Japanese style and new style hotel design chose this design sense hotel purely because I personally do not like to sleep tatami ground floor The room space is very large comfortable courtyard and bathroom are done enough privacy Overall feeling is very good will stay again next time Self-drive tour in my land so distance is not an issue The hotel also has a free shuttle service

This hotel offers excellent value for money. The environment is beautiful, and the kaiseki cuisine (two meals per night) is delicious and beautifully presented. The onsen (hot spring) is very comfortable; I recommend the public onsen for its even more beautiful view. The private onsen is a bit cramped.

This is a modern accommodation with state-of-the-art facilities in Yufuin. We stayed in a sauna room, and it was fantastic to have both an indoor hot spring bath and an outdoor sauna. The room was very spacious and clean, and the view of the bamboo forest from the living room was truly relaxing. There are two rooms on the second floor with three beds each; since it was just my family of four, we had plenty of space, but it would be ample enough for two families to stay as well. It is a place I would definitely want to stay at again if I visit.

The hotel is located in a rather remote area, making the entrance difficult to find. There's a campsite nearby called ”The Village,” accessible via a downhill path. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and well-maintained, with a washing machine, three bedrooms, and comfortable accommodations. Suitable for large groups of friends or families. The kitchen is well-equipped. Netflix is a welcome addition, and the internet connection is stable. I would suggest providing garbage bags and increasing the capacity of the trash cans. Since there are no restaurants nearby, cooking generates a lot of garbage, and only small trash cans are provided, which is inconvenient. Overall, a good experience; I'll definitely come back!

This private hot spring villa was absolutely fantastic for both adults and kids alike! 👍 Before arrival, we received an email with our room number (and corresponding parking spot) and the room access code. Check-in was done smoothly via a machine after entering the room. The four-person room was incredibly spacious, cozy, and comfortable. It featured an outdoor balcony and a fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher!). The fridge was stocked with plenty of drinks and alcoholic beverages. We brought groceries back from the supermarket in the evening to cook, and thoroughly enjoyed the very comfortable dining area. The highlight was the constant flow hot spring in our room (24-hour continuous water supply to the tub, with excess water naturally overflowing and draining). The kids immediately stripped down and jumped in as soon as we entered! There was also a sauna room inside, which everyone, both adults and children, absolutely loved. 👍

The villa is a very kind home, it feels warm when you enter the door, and the facilities are very clean. And the location is excellent, walking to Jinlin Lake in the morning is about 5 minutes away, you can enjoy the tranquility before the tour group arrives. The main hot spring street and restaurant are about 5 minutes walking distance, it is highly recommended to travel with parents and can go back to the room to rest. We had a very cold two nights in Yufuin and it was snowing! It was a great pleasure to enjoy the snow in the hot springs at home, but before we enjoyed it, we needed to muster the courage to accept the cold challenge for two or three minutes! Because the hot spring and bathing place are outside the house, you need to walk outside for 30 seconds to 1 minute. If you encounter snow and ice, you may really have to walk slowly. After walking to the cabin, you have to take off your clothes quickly. Then immediately enter the indoor hot spring area and start to wash and reply warm! The hot springs are comfortable, especially the indoor hot springs are very hot and the temperature can be adjusted. The outdoor hot springs may not be hot enough because the weather is cold. We have tried to adjust but it was unsuccessful. Overall it is a good experience, but it is too cold for parents. Usually, parents who like to have been soaking, but only once a day here, they all say it is too cold, although it is only a few minutes cold, it also needs a lot of courage! If you go to the outdoor aisle, the place to change clothes in the hot spring house, and the bathroom location in the villa There should be a better experience with long-term constant temperature heating !

This boutique ryokan, featuring just 11 rooms, is situated a convenient 5-minute drive from Yufuin Station in a peaceful, rustic residential neighborhood. Our spacious, well-maintained ground-floor room featured a private onsen and offered excellent views of Mount Yufu. For those interested, the communal onsen can also be locked for private use and is kept very clean. The staff is accommodating and polite, and the breakfast and dinner provided in the dining area are outstanding. Complimentary parking is available, and the aromatic tea burner in the room was a very pleasant detail.

Love private indoor and outdoor onsen the most. Really relax and nice cute villa. Cozy and good quality of bed sheets/blankets. Only a couple points for improvement. No door code being provided in advance prior to the arrival date and I had to make a call in order to get the access code. I can’t find the light switch in the dining room. Later find out that it was a remote control to turn it on. No instruction. However, overall I like the house especially the private onsen.
