Yufu Hotels with Wifi

"This guesthouse has a story to tell in every corner, retaining some of its original Japanese style. The environment is quiet and clean. The evening hot spring bath is by reservation for one hour per group, allowing couples to enjoy a private bath together. A thorough introduction is provided before check-in. The owner is friendly and beautiful 🥰. Breakfast is a traditional breakfast (the rice is superb). I highly recommend allowing time to fully experience and appreciate every detail. Although the location is a bit far from the station (a 15-minute walk), I recommend taking a taxi from the station to the guesthouse. There's a luggage delivery service to the station upon check-out, so you don't need to rush to pick it up. You can pick up your luggage when you catch the train (luggage storage costs about 600-800 yen). You can easily stroll around Yufuin, enjoying the clean air and streets. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the noticeable dampness of the tatami mats, probably because it's near a mountain and quite humid. Also, being a guesthouse, they don't offer any services after 9 PM. We arrived very late and didn't have time to buy anything before checking in. There are no convenience stores nearby, and the guesthouse doesn't have vending machines selling food. But as long as you don't arrive right on time like we did, you won't have this problem. 🙂"

"Walked to Lake Kinrin in under 6 minutes. I'm not sure if I picked the wrong room type, it felt like there were different styles. Dinner was a standard beef shabu-shabu; the food was ordinary and the sashimi wasn't particularly outstanding, though there was a good variety and I ate until I was stuffed. The onsen was quite relaxing, but it didn't have any views since it's located in an urban area. The last seating for dinner was 6:30 PM, and for breakfast, it was 8:30 AM. However, after breakfast, they actually packed up my bed, which was a bit surprising as I wanted to sleep more. On the bright side, the staff were incredibly helpful and all very nice."

"The whole place was so clean and everything was as described. It is run by an older friendly couple. The room was spacious, especially compared to the rooms you get in the city. I didn’t include the breakfast for my stay, but everything seemed homemade and quaint. I used the public onsen and showers during my stay. I went there around 9-10pm and it was empty both nights (the onsen closes at 11:30pm). There is a private onsen that you can book in advance if you feel more comfortable using that. The location was right in the middle, between the train/bus station and the main shopping area, which I found very convenient. It was easy to wheel my suitcase over to the hotel from the train station."

"This beautiful Ryokan is over 100 years old with deep heritage. I like that it stay as it is as if time stood still. So full of character. I was drawn to the onsens featuring beautiful outdoor views. You'll get to enjoy indoor and outdoor onsens here.. You get to try different types of onsens as they switch around. The highlight was the mountain view, the tranquility that some accommodation lacks due to the amount of guests. Here, you see mostly adults, hence irs ideal for people looking for a quieter retreat. Finally I was absolutely blown away by the wagyu beef at each dinner buffet. The Oita beef was of good quality and there was crab legs and so many variety of seafood and Oita specialty. Breakfast did not disappoint. Love the Yufuin milk and the pudding. Service staff was very attentive too. Ideally for non driving travellers. A short walk to the station and kinrin river."

"The hostel was very nice and had a cozy charm to it. I also met some very nice people there. There is an Onsen in the hostel, and you can get a satisfying breakfast for around 800 Yen. The owner was very kind and offers evening walks (which I highly recommend) and a ride to the station in the morning. The only downside is that it's an around 30 minutes walk uphill from Floral Village, but the view from there is worth it. All in all I highly recommend it!"

"The hotel itself is a bit older, and you can definitely feel its age in some areas of the property. That said, it still maintains a certain traditional charm. One thing to note is that the location isn’t the easiest to access on foot—you’ll really need a car to get around comfortably, especially if you plan to explore the surrounding area. What truly stood out during my stay was the restaurant staff. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and warm throughout my visit. Their hospitality made the dining experience one of the highlights of the hotel. The meals were well-prepared and thoughtfully presented, adding a special touch to each day. Overall, while the facilities could use a bit of updating and the location is best suited for travelers with a vehicle, the kindness and service of the restaurant staff made the stay worthwhile."

"The room was spacious and came with a private onsen. Perched halfway up the mountain, the views were beautiful. If you don't have a car, you can book the shuttle, but be aware that the pick-up times are infrequent. The staff were friendly. Dinner was just okay, but since it was inconvenient to go back to the city, we ended up eating almost all our meals there as part of a half-board package."

"The staff were polite, and the dinner and breakfast were very plentiful. The private onsen (hot spring) offered ample privacy. We requested a ride to the JR station after breakfast the next day, and they were very happy to help, even though it was free. If I have the opportunity to visit Yufuin again, I will definitely book this hotel again. The only drawback was that the hotel's Chinese name on the Trip.com website was different from the actual hotel's Chinese name."

"The hotel is small, but located in a very picturesque location! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room is spacious, with an outdoor onsen and two baths at your disposal – they become private when in use, so you won't be disturbed. Near the hotel is a wonderful bakery called Grand'ma and a coffee shop called Grand'pa – I recommend checking them out."

"I don't know if it's because I was staying alone, but the room facilities were really great! The bed was big, there was a sofa, TV, microwave, and fridge! The bathtub was also big and nice! It felt like the largest bathtub I've seen in a Japanese hotel. For this price and room condition, I would definitely stay here again. It's super convenient as it's right in front of the station. You just need to cross one crosswalk, it feels like crossing a small alley... doesn't even take a minute! The surrounding shops close early, and it's a bit far from the main street, so it was nice and quiet at night. Even the shops on the main street all close by 5 PM! However, you might be a bit surprised when you first check-in. You just need to enter the password correctly at the front of the building and go in to check-in. There's no one there, so you might feel a bit flustered. There are stairs leading to the check-in area, so if you have a lot of luggage, I recommend leaving it downstairs, checking in first, getting your room assignment, and then moving your bags! If you get a room on the first floor, you'll have to carry them back down! I heard there's an onsen on the rooftop, but I didn't go, so I don't know. Also, they don't clean the rooms! This didn't bother me much, but they only provide enough towels for one night, regardless of whether you stay for 3 or 4 nights. They tell you to wash them in the washing machine! To use the washing machine conveniently, it's best to shower quickly, start the laundry, and then do other things. Just rinsing, spinning, and drying takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes! Also, unlike a hotel, there are no C-type or USB-type outlets in the room. You definitely need to bring an adapter. It's not like hotels where the power is weak, so I was able to use my curling iron. Since it's convenient to wash towels, I would probably use this place again if I go to Yufuin."
