"We stayed at the Eden Grand Hotel for two days and absolutely loved it. Although it can be a little tricky to find, the hotel is beautifully located at the edge of the forest, where monkeys leap from tree to tree.
The rooms are cozy and well-designed, with a spacious, comfortable bed, modern bathroom and an AC.
The service was exceptional. Breakfast is freshly prepared just for you, and the food was fantastic. The hotel also offers its own tuktuk driver, making it easy to visit nearby attractions like Sigiriya Rock.
All in all, the Eden Grand Hotel is a charming and peaceful retreat and the Service will try its best to make your stay memorable."

"We chose this hotel based on the location! We arrived, looked and booked 3 rooms. Moreover, it was cheaper to book through the website than at the hotel. When they showed us the rooms, a very sharp, specific smell hit our noses, I asked what it was, they told me that these were their air fresheners and they could be washed off. I said that I could not live with such a smell and needed to be removed, they said ok and we went to check in. Then I threw my things and went swimming and eating. In the evening, I returned to the room, the smell was there and then it dawned on me that it was a cockroach repellent!!!!!! The victims were already lying all over the room, and very large ones. At the reception, they silently moved me, without even apologizing. This moment, of course, spoiled the impression. After all, I immediately said that the smell was very sharp.
The bathroom is very interestingly made, it is as if outside, in the shower there is a net and an outside nook. Leaving the cool room there is a strong contrast, but this does not spoil the rest. I liked the design of the disposable sets, they looked very stylish.
In the evenings, musicians played in the restaurant (the first day there were mantras to the music, on the second day a guy sang very chicly. In the restaurant you can eat from the menu or dinner/lunch buffet. We tried both options, everything is very good. Very attentive staff in the cafe, the administrator saw us and ran to prepare a table for us. They also served by the pool.
The territory is not large, but it is conducive to relaxation. Monkeys even came running.
Friends went to the spa, they said the massage was good. From the hotel we went to Sigiriya (20 minutes by car) and on a safari in the park."

"We got very nice experience when staying here 1 night. The room was perfect for our family of 3. We just had to pay for the 3rd person's breakfast.
The Logde located nearby the Lion rock and village, easy to find and go to the rock or the Gambulla city within 10min.
The host Isuru was very welcoming from the start and made sure that we had all that we needed. ( hot water, drinking water, towels, AC, fan). We also really appreciated Mr Alain, a french gentleman resident in the sameplace! The room also had all the necessary for us to not be bitten by insects (scents and more). There was also a room for the driver at a very resonnable price. However we found the wifi a little weak, but else everything was good.
In the surroundings it is peaceful, and we woke up to nice little sound of the nature and a well prepared typical srilankan breakfast and fruits! Delicious!"

"The hotel service location was great.
Anyway, the owner was kind and picked me up to Sigiriya Rock, and on the way back after check-out, I picked me up to the bus station.
I also answered my request for breakfast and was able to eat calmly while listening to the birds on the terrace.

Also, the shower comes out at 々 water, but it's not a big problem.
It's just in nature, so there may be a lot of insects in the room, such as ants."

We stayed two nights in Milano Grand, and the experience was absolutely perfect from the beginning to the end.
The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Thank you very much to Lucky manager, whose goodness and professionalism have changed our stay.
Our heavy baggage was brought to the room, and we were given excellent recommendations to visit, to eat, and even a scooter was reserved and organized for our next day explorations.
The breakfast was royal: fresh fruit, fresh smoothies, variety and generosity.
The rooms were large, very clean, and really comfortable.
The location is perfect: just next to the road station. And above all, at the check-out, Lucky personally accompanied us to the station, to show us exactly what bus to take. A rare, careful, and deeply appreciated gesture.
For the price, quality, reception and kindness of the staff, this hotel is widely worth 5 stars.
I recommend the Milano Grand very strongly."

GGuest UserWe had an amazing experience staying at Hibiscus Villa. The location was perfect—peaceful yet conveniently close to everything we needed. The villa itself was spotless, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable and easy.
What truly made the experience exceptional was the owner. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. From offering great local suggestions to organizing transport for us whenever required, his support made our trip even more enjoyable and stress-free.

GGuest UserThe room was absolutely fantastic, complete with a balcony offering stunning views. This hotel is truly unique, a perfect example of humans coexisting harmoniously with nature. It's a cliffside hotel nestled in the jungle, overlooking a lake that's over a thousand years old, with distant views of Sigiriya (Lion Rock). Both breakfast and dinner at the hotel were excellent experiences! They also had a wonderful welcome experience with a welcome drink and flowers!

GGuest UserGreat place to stay if you want to explore the lions rock and the area around. Pidurangala rock is only 15min away by tuk tuk, the lions rock can be done by walk (~20min walk to entrance). But the best experience was the kindness of the hosts. The helped us in every way (explaining routes, advices on activities, organizing tuk tuk, etc.). The food was amazing and we had a lot of interesting conversations with the friendly stuff. Special thanks to Daushna, Larush & Nimal for making our stay remarkable.

GGuest UserKalundewa Retreat has an amazing concept and a beautiful, secluded location that really stands out. The surroundings are peaceful and unique, making it a lovely place to disconnect. That said, there are visible signs of wear and tear in certain areas, and some aspects of property maintenance could be improved.
However, what truly made up for this was the hotel team — their service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent and clearly prepared with care, which added greatly to the overall experience. With better upkeep, this place has the potential to be exceptional.

TtorinessThis is a nice hotel in a great location in terms of seeing the key sights in the area we wanted to visit (walking distance to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks, and a short tuk tuk ride to a night loris walk). It is on a main road so there is a bit of noise from that if you have a room at the front of the hotel like we did - especially some loud music playing early in the morning. I recommend asking for a room as far away from the road as available. The room was more basic than I expected for the price but importantly it was big and clean. I think you are paying the price for a proper hotel in this location. The hotel pool is big and very clean, it is perfect for a dip to cool down - and very scenic, surrounded by lovely trees. We were a bit disappointed with the hotel restaurant menu which has nearly no vegetarian options on it, and similarly the breakfast buffet wasn’t worth it for us to purchase, but there are lots of other restaurants walking distance from the hotel to go to. The staff were helpful especially in putting us in touch with the loris night tour.

Breakfast was really good: fruit, roti, coconut pancakes, eggs how you want them, fruit juice, other bits too. Our table was hardly big enough to hold it all.
An excellent location to visit Lion Rock and several restaurants and bars within walking distance serving local and western options.

LLillyMFirstly, as a solo traveller the prices are quite steep per room per night!! But hence everything else is far after visiting the Lion try I gave it a try. The place is beutiful but seemed the cleaning staff doesn’t refill bathroom soaps, towels and tissue quite often. Everyone including myself kept on asking the receptionist guy for stuff. My plug sockets didn’t work, I slept thinking my power bank and phone would be fully charged by the morning. The people are polite. Lots of noise at night and turns out it’s elephant 🐘 noise and dogs barking. So I missed a 2 good hours of sleep. They do try to fix the problems when you tell them about them.
