"Traveling to Jinan for a weekend getaway, we chose Shandong Hotel for the comfort of the elderly and children. I think it's probably one of the top hotels in Jinan. The staff were very attentive, and the bathrooms, which have been renovated, were clean and hygienic. The windows also offered good soundproofing. The only minor issue is that they host a lot of conferences, so rooms can be scarce.
We didn't plan a detailed itinerary this time. In the morning, I asked the front desk for recommendations for breakfast stalls nearby, and they suggested Houji Jianbing. We navigated there and it was about a 10-minute stroll. Initially, I thought it was just a pancake stall, but to my surprise, they also had Roujiamo (Chinese meat burger) and many other varieties. It was packed with people, and the food was delicious. It was my first time trying savory tofu pudding with sesame paste, and it was absolutely fantastic!
After breakfast, it was just a 5-minute walk to the Southwest Gate of Qianfo Mountain (Thousand Buddha Mountain). Jinan in spring is incredibly beautiful, and Qianfo Mountain, in particular, was bursting with blooming flowers – definitely worth a visit. With a cable car up the mountain and a slide down, both the elderly and the children had a very enjoyable time.
Overall, I was very satisfied with our stay at Shandong Hotel during this trip."
