"We were there during the trade fair, which was unfortunately a bit limiting. Breakfast was moved to an area that wasn't as inviting as the actual room! That was a shame considering the price, as it's all about the atmosphere and feeling. The location is great, a great view of the Dresden skyline. The rooms were clean and tidy! As far as the staff were concerned, there were quite a few young, unsure-looking waiters, we think they were just being trained. Accordingly, I don't want to give a rating on that, everyone has to start somewhere :) an overall successful stay with a few minor drawbacks!"

"Hotel Review – Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa I recently stayed at Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa, and while the property benefits from a central location in the inner city, the overall experience was disappointing. The hotel’s greatest advantage is indeed its proximity to the city center, allowing convenient access to major attractions and public transportation. However, aside from this, the stay was overshadowed by several shortcomings. Firstly, the amenities were very limited, and the guest room itself appeared dated and somewhat worn, reflecting the age of the hotel. This left an impression of tiredness rather than comfort. The most concerning issue, however, relates to the parking situation. The hotel advertises that it offers its own parking facilities, yet in reality, this is not the case. Guests are required to use a public parking facility nearby, which is misleading and highly inconvenient. This information should be corrected immediately, as it creates false expectations for visitors arriving by car. Additionally, the area in front of the hotel is consistently overcrowded with parked vehicles, often blocking arriving guests from accessing the entrance or unloading luggage during check-in. This further contributed to a frustrating arrival experience. In conclusion, while the central location is undeniably practical, the limited amenities, outdated rooms, misleading information about parking, and poorly managed entrance area significantly detract from the overall quality of the stay. I would strongly recommend the management address these issues to ensure a more accurate representation of the hotel and a better experience for future guests."

"It was a bit far from the main tourist attractions. It was a bit far from the Dresden tourist center, and public transportation (No. 81 or No. 478) near the hotel did not come often, so it was difficult to manage time efficiently. From the next day, I checked the bus schedule and moved according to the time, but it was a bit inconvenient to take the bus to the main tourist attractions and then transfer to the tram in the middle. You can take tram No. 3 near the hotel to go to the main tourist attractions without transferring, but it takes about 15 minutes on foot from the hotel, and it was burdensome to walk back to the hotel in the dark at night. It was a small hotel, but it was clean and everyone was friendly."

"The hotel is located near St. John's Church on Dresden Square. The staff are polite and friendly, and the rooms are spacious and stylish. Our room faced a residential house, and we felt like we were immersed in the local area and experiencing German life!"

"We were unfortunately very disappointed ... We booked an accessible room ... the only accessible room door was the broader room door ... according to the hotel's homepage and the photos shower locks on the toilet and a shower seat in the shower ... the device for holding grip but not installed ... Notting grip must be available, there is not even a device for ... nothing of it was available ... on request explained there are 2 categories accessible ... true Rolling chair drivers can run and stand in the shower ... within 6 days was no room exchange possible ... on my push I got at least a flat shower hocker ... far from the actual offer ... at the reception On the arrival day of our complaint, the manager went away and it didn't even interest him ... if I book free of access u look at the photos I expect it too ... I was told I could have called and asked ... but Why? I booked that which was picture.. only not get ... it was not offered to us any compensation or so ... On the contrary, the parking house itself had to pay full although the corresponding parking spaces were used by faulen and the barrier did not work ... The food was absolutely OK ... also the cleanliness was OK ... improvements are always possible, but if something missed in towels it was brought immediately ... all in all a very central hotel, but for physically disabled guests in the wheelchair unfit ... there needs to be extremely improved"

"The great location right in the city center is a real plus. The room was perfectly fine and clean. Showering in a bathtub isn't my preference, but that might just be a personal preference. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there are plenty of other options nearby."

"A beautiful hotel with very friendly staff in excellent location. Good to reach and at the same time beautifully quiet. All the pools are accessible by foot. We will come back in any case."

"One of our favourite hotels we’ve ever visited. We loved the style of the hotel and the incredibly friendly reception, who provided us with an amazing suite for the duration of our stay! 10/10 would recommend for anyone considering a stay in Dresden. While it is not completely central, it is well connected with the tram and Dresden Mitte nearby and only a 10 minute walk to the Altstadt."

"Within walking distance of a great shopping street and about 25 minutes walk from the castle and lovely architecture. Staff were helpful and check in was smooth. Had to go down to reception to borrow a kettle and a mug as they don’t put them in rooms, apparently had many incidents of guests stealing the kettles? Aside from that, very convenient and sparkling clean. Heaters were very warm and beds were comfy."
