"The hotel had some good aspects, but overall the stay was disappointing considering the expectations for the suite category. Before arriving, I emailed well in advance requesting a room on a higher floor. Unfortunately, this request was completely ignored. Although the suite category I booked extends up to the 5th floor, I was placed on the 2nd floor. The balcony faced very closely toward some run-down local housing, which made it uncomfortable to even keep the curtains open, so I couldn’t really use the balcony at all. See picture! Another issue was the air conditioning. The room never became properly cool, and it felt humid throughout the stay. After I reported it, staff came to inspect the AC and confirmed that it was centrally limited to 22°C. Despite acknowledging the issue, nothing was done to improve it. The bathroom fan was also extremely noisy. Sound insulation is poor — I could clearly hear neighbors talking and even snoring through the walls. Service was another weak point. None of the reception staff I interacted with felt particularly friendly, welcoming, or service-minded, which negatively affected the overall experience. On the positive side, the location is quite good, the gym and sauna are decent, and having washing machines available on every floor is very convenient. The rooms are spacious, and the kitchen setup is good as well. Overall, the hotel has potential because of the room size and facilities, but the lack of service, poor soundproofing, and uncomfortable room temperature and room and balcony view."

"This was a rather eventful check-in experience. When I first checked in, the front desk gave me the wrong room – I booked a king-sized bed but got a twin. I went downstairs to switch rooms, but the front desk said the hotel was fully booked that day and could only offer an end room. The problem was, this room was next to a large air conditioning unit and was incredibly noisy. I was very upset and went back to the front desk to argue. However, I must commend Trip.com's customer service; after I reported the issue on their platform, a representative immediately contacted me to help resolve it. The final resolution was satisfactory. Since the hotel was indeed fully booked with no other rooms available, I stayed in the end room for one night and then moved to a new room the next morning. Before the switch, the front desk even showed me the new room for my approval before moving my luggage. The manager also sent up a fruit platter and dinner as an apology. Trip.com's customer service was on the phone helping communicate throughout the process. I'm satisfied with how it was handled in the end. **Facilities:** The hotel facilities are relatively new, with an indoor pool and a rooftop pool. However, it was still a bit cold in early to mid-May to use the outdoor one. **Hygiene:** What can I say about the hygiene? The first end room was only average; I found hair on the bed and the phone. The new room I moved to on the second day was quite clean. The only downside was that there was no bottled water in the room, only canned water, which I found a bit inconvenient, so I bought my own bottled water. **Restaurant:** I had breakfast every day. It was a standard continental buffet with a good variety. One hot dish changed daily (mashed potatoes on the first day, shakshuka on the second, egg and mushrooms on the third), while the rest of the dishes remained the same. I had dinner once, which was also a buffet, and the menu is in the photos."

"This is my 3rd time at Bayview Hotel and I'm glad I returned again as it's ideally located, budget-friendly, rooms are big, wifi is strong, ample secured parking, reception staff is helpful and friendly, while maid service is efficient. Their breakfast though quite good, could have been improved by way of service. I realised that this time, their staff isn't as attentive as they used to be. I have a knee injury and currently using a cane. One morning during breakfast, I politely asked a service lady to kindly provide me some napkins plus forks and knives as the table was bare. Usually they set up the tables for the next guests. She merely said ”There are provisions at the buffet. You can get it yourself.” Not a very courteous way to treat a guest! In addition, it is completely annoying to be asked during meals every 5-10min by the staff if they can takeaway already something from the table. Once, a lady staff almost tookaway my sister's plate even before she was done eating. They must be trained that it is disrespectful to incessantly approach the guests so very often! We must be allowed to eat in silence, enjoy our meal without intrusion!"

"We stayed at Verdi Gżira Promenade for a special occasion, and the balloons in the room were a kind, personal gesture. As first‑time visitors to Malta, the location was ideal — just a five‑minute walk to the ferry terminal for Valletta boats and traditional ġunġlijiet, and close to Sliema’s restaurants, bars, and beach clubs. The rooftop was our favourite spot, with a great view, a relaxed pool, and practical facilities like towels and showers that made it easy to enjoy throughout the day. Breakfast could be improved, as some items weren’t kept fresh, but the café staff were attentive and always willing to fix things. The room was comfortable, though a few facilities felt dated and there was a slight musty smell. Overall, the service, convenience, and rooftop experience made it a lovely stay for a couple, and we’d recommend it."

"This stay was for an early start at the airport and to be able to attend a concert the previous evening so it only needed to be clean and safe. Which it was. The corridor is not carpeted so there was some noise from wheelie luggage passing but ear plugs sorted that. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the wifi worked. For the price I got exactly what I wanted so the outlook onto an internal stairwell was irrelevant. I would consider this for a future stay for the price under 40e."

"Nice hotel with clean modern rooms. Everything seemed to be working fine. Bathroom is very spacious with a big shower cubicle. The only issue I had was that the bed was made up of 2 single beds next to each other, and every time I ve tired towards the middle of the bed, they started moving away from each other. Breakfast was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary but there was never an empty dish as they kept replenishing them all the time. I would definitely be booking into this hotel again in the future."

"The view from the room is amazing. You can use the outdoor pool across the street! It's spacious and special. The indoor pool is cold, and there is only one jacuzzi, so you need to be careful. I was worried about the smell of the water in the room. It's not a new hotel, so that was a bit of a concern, but the service and location are good, so I recommend it overall."

"Review: 115 The Strand Hotel by NEU Collective Stayed: May 16–19 The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient for getting around, and check-in was smooth. We stayed in Room 609, which was a standard room, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The room felt very small and the decor was dull and depressing. The bathroom was extremely tiny — even for two petite women, it was uncomfortable. Sitting on the toilet, your knees almost touch the sink, and the shower space is so tight you can barely turn around. The hallway had a musty smell, possibly from water leakage. Overall, the room experience was not pleasant. The lobby staff were not very helpful. They didn’t tell us about the facilities on the 8th floor — there’s a small sauna, jacuzzi, and a tiny indoor pool. If I had known earlier, I would’ve taken advantage and enjoyed some time there despite the limited size. That said, the rest of the hotel facilities were much better. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight — the food was delicious and the views were beautiful and uplifting, especially during breakfast. A big bonus was access to the outdoor pool at Aqualuna Malta just across the street. I spent two lovely days there enjoying the ocean view with a bottle of Prosecco — very relaxing. Overall, I would consider staying here again, but only if I can book a better room. The location and facilities are great — just be aware of the room quality and ask about all the amenities upfron!"

"Very close to the bus stop, room is not small. However, the housekeeping forgot to give us new towels for 2 consecutive days, and the floor is kinda dirty. In general acceptable with this price."
