"The Candia hotel was a very short and easy walk with a lot of luggage from the train station. I was able to check in an hour earlier than they state in the information and the receptionists were very helpful. The hotel is a short walk to the underground station in Thessaloniki from there it was a short train ride ( very exciting if you get a front seat) to all the museums and centre. The room at Candia was very large with a big bathroom and was very comfy, clean and relaxing. There are shutters in the windows that was good for the mornings. Nd the sun did not wake me up! Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of hot and cold food. I especially liked the fruit and yoghurts with an array of extra bits for healthy toppings. The swimming pool was lively and I had fun in the sun. There were plenty of staff to help there and make my stay fabulous. The views from the top of the hotel were great and I wished I’d taken some images! Thessaloniki has a lot to offer travellers who enjoy culture, which is why I chose to stay there."

"🌟 Outstanding Stay at Amalia Hotel Athens 🌟 The Amalia Hotel Athens is in an excellent location—right in the center, with easy access to major sightseeing spots and many great food options. It is definitely the best choice in Athens, offering comfort at a very reasonable price. What made our stay truly memorable was the outstanding staff: Mrs. Kalliopi (Front Desk Receptionist) – She warmly upgraded our room, recommended some of the best dining experiences in Athens, and even made reservations for us. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care made us feel so welcome. Ms. Irini Pasalidou (Housekeeping) – She kept our room spotless, replaced towels and toiletries promptly, and greeted us every morning with a smile. Her dedication, efficiency, and kindness made us feel right at home. Breakfast Team: Stavros & Marilena – Their smiles and attentive service brightened each morning. Stavros always served fresh orange juice as soon as we sat down, while Marilena ensured the buffet was well stocked and the tables were clean. Their dedication and hard work made breakfast a delightful experience. Because of these wonderful team members, our visit to Athens was exceptionally enjoyable and comfortable. We will gladly recommend Amalia Hotel Athens to our friends and look forward to returning soon. Joyce Yeung"

"My room was on the first floor and the button lock on the window was broken, so I was a little worried and scared to stay there alone as a woman. The bathtub was great. It was great for warming up my tired body after the flight and getting my blood flowing. Although it was far from the market, it was very convenient for getting to the main attractions of Zeus, Athena, and the museums by train."

Hotel near Koukaki,Athens
The Acropolis View Hotel is one of the newest hotels in Athens, having been renovated in 2025. The hotel is only 800m from Fix and 36km from Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. Just a short walk from Syngrou Fix Metro Station, traveling to most city destinations is a breeze. There's plenty to do nearby, with Roman Forum of Athens, Odeon of Herodes Atticus and Acropolis Museum all within a short distance. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards.

"Honestly I was a little worried about booking a hotel in Athens having not visited since 1999 but the Acropolis View Hotel kept popping up on my searches and the reviews were really good so I booked a twin acropolis view room for my husband and I to stay for 1 night at the end of a cruise. We were blown away by the service at reception and the location to pretty much everything we wanted to see in a day within walking distance. The views were amazing and the rooftop deck was perfect for a drink at the end of the day with Acropolis in background and for breakfast the next morning before leaving for airport. Will definitely stay here again and am happy to recommend to friends and family."

With Monastiraki Railway Station just 700m away and Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" only 35km away, transportation is very convenient. The closest major public transportation, Syntagma Metro Station, is only 300m away. There's plenty to do nearby, with Acropolis Museum, Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus and Hadrian's Library all within a short distance. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Athens hotel features parking on site. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"The rooms are very square, with complete facilities and very nice staff. The restaurant on the 10th floor of the hotel is right in front of the Acropolis. It has a very nice location and scenery! It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the Acropolis and other attractions in the market center. It is very convenient for food, clothing, housing and transportation. The quality of breakfast is a little bit worse, and the dinner is expensive but the taste is average. However, compared with the surrounding hotels, the overall rating of this hotel is still very cost-effective. Some employees have a very good service attitude, and I gave them a lot of tips. I would like to stay here next time I come to Athens."

"The 8th and 9th floors of the hotel, as well as the rooftop breakfast area (which is also the top floor), offer direct views of the Parthenon. Plus, the infinity pool on the rooftop is perfect for photos! Probably because there are so many guests (and many rooms), after calling the front desk, service takes a long time to arrive (sometimes I even had to directly ask a housekeeper in the hallway for what I needed). The room facilities are quite old. Around noon, the front desk gets swamped with guests checking out. On another note, the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the old town every hour on the dot."

TTravelwithjessieeI’m a solo traveller and I stayed here on my first trip to Athens. I wanted to be central to the attractions. The location was amazing! It is right on Monastiaki square where you can take the metro to and from the airport making it easy to get to! You can also use theirs to get around Athens! Low cost and easy to use! You can see the Acropolis right from the square! There are also lots of lovely restaurants and coffee shops around this area too! On arriving at the hotel the reception staff were very warm and welcoming. They helped me to arrange transportations and offered to prepare a takeaway breakfast bag for my early check out which was very kind! The room itself was quite large and clean with all of the amenities that you may need. The shower was hot which was good! The downside to the room is that it is very noisy from the outside due to it being on the square. It can get busy at nighttime, however I did expect this due to its location. I came prepared and brought earplugs to sleep in which did the trick! The breakfast is served in the rooftop bar. Plenty of choice and delicious pastries each day. Hot and cold options available which was nice! The views from here are amazing! You can sell all around you and have a view of the Acropolis as you enjoy your breakfast! Wow! Photos attached of the view from breakfast at the hotel rooftop and the square! I would recommend this hotel to stay on if you are wanting to be in the centre of Athens! Everything was accessible and the staff was always happy to help! Thank you so much for being so lovely during my stay! I would come back again! 😊

ぱぱラッチI stayed for 3 nights on a business trip. You can walk to the Pardenon Temple and the New Acropolis Museum. There are also many Greek restaurants nearby and the location is excellent. The receptionist at the hotel was also friendly. The breakfast restaurant space is by no means large, but you can enjoy your meal slowly in a calm atmosphere. The size of the room can also be spent slowly in a reasonable space. It was good that the shower was hydraulic pressure, but it was a pity that there was no bathtub plug and I couldn't put it in the bathtub. The elevator was retro and the atmosphere was good, but the movement was slow. It's the opposite of a modern hotel, but I think it's a very good hotel to spend a relaxing time in a historic hotel in Europe.

GGuest UserPlaka Hotel Stay: Jan 20th to Jan 30th Rm 511 My second time stay. Enjoyed my stay to the hilt. Staff very friendly. House keep was excellent. Used Plaka as my base to visit the Islands, wandered the Peloponnese and local markets. I would like to especially thank Miss ”Eva” of front desk. She is the star at the breakfast room in the morning as she chimes ” Kala Mera”. Politely comes to the table asking about any help we wanted or any tips to visit a place of interest or any discomfort the previous day with which she could help. She was genuinely interested in helping. Her multicultural knowledge including multi language capability was very valuable in easy conversation. She is a great asset to Plaka Hotel. Her colleagues at the front desk including the gentlemen were very friendly and we felt that we were returning home as we came back in the eve and were greeted with smiles. One disconcerting aspect of the elevators in Plaka hotel was the offending smell that emanated sometime. And one suggestion to the management is to add sliders under the furniture legs on the roof restaurant as they keep moving it late in the night causing noise. But it did not take away from our enjoying the stay. Thanks to Plaka Hotel for a delightful stay of ten days. We will come back next year. Looking forward! R. V (NJ US)

GGuest UserThis was a great stay for us and our family. The hotel is conveniently located near many popular sights and eateries in Athens and most were within a 10-20 minute walk. The nearby Monastiraki metro station made it easy to get to and from the airport as well. The rooms are nicely appointed with a couple of chairs, work station, coffee/tea station, closet, mini fridge and TV. The beds were small but comfy enough. Our family had a 2 and 3 bed rooms and we found the 2 bed room was a lot more spacious. The bathrooms in both were small but we appreciated that the hot water came on quickly and there was a small window for ventilation. Our room was quiet at night but our family noted street noise on the lower floors. The elevators were often tricky to catch as they are small but we appreciated it when we didn't feel like the climb to the sixth floor. The amenities at the hotel were good for the price. The roof top patio and bar area was a highlight and we enjoyed a couple of afternoons up here watching the sun set and the lights turn on at the Acropolis. The prices of the bar were inexpensive and they had a good variety of options. There was a sitting room that had tea and coffee midday and they kept it open in the evening so we were able to sit together and talk. They had laundry service, baggage storage and could help arrange tours or car hires as well at the front desk with their friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast at this hotel was very good for the price. They had something for everyone and lots of place to sit. Highlights for us were the Greek yoghurt and the spinach and feta stuffed pastries. They also had mini sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, feta cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, breads, baklava, croissants, dried fruits, fresh fruits, juices and a coffee machine. We looked forward to breakfast each morning. The hotel provided a good base for exploring and was centrally located. We would say if you're looking to save money and have a good breakfast to start your day in Athens this hotel is a good choice.

GGuest UserFirst of all, the service of the hotel staff is very nice. Although it is in a foreign country, every service staff is very enthusiastic and patient. You can see the Parthenon and Mount Lycabettus from the top floor of the hotel. The hotel's own restaurant is not expensive and the food is delicious. The sunset in the evening is very beautiful. The main problem lies in the hotel room itself. We chose a room with two separate beds and a balcony, but in fact, this hotel does not have a room that meets this condition. Later, after communicating with Ctrip customer service, we got a very satisfactory result. I really want to give a big thumbs up to Ctrip's service! In addition, I would like to remind everyone that the beds abroad are really small. If you choose a room with two beds, most of them are two beds less than one meter long, and they are connected when you check in, so you need to put in some effort to separate them manually.

GGuest UserReview for NYX Esperia Palace Athens – Luxurious Stay with a Few Caveats We stayed at NYX Esperia Palace Athens for four full days – two couples, each in an Executive Suite with access to the business lounge. The welcome was warm and efficient, and we received our rooms exactly at 3:00 PM, as per hotel policy. The suites were clean, stylish, and well-equipped with amenities such as disposable toothbrushes, shaving kits, loofahs, a hairdryer, and more. One of our suites, located on the 7th floor, even had a partial view of the Acropolis, which was a lovely bonus. The room’s climate, lighting, and curtains were all operated through digital controls, designed to pamper guests — although, in practice, they were not very intuitive and required a bit of trial and error. For instance, turning off the bedside light required getting up and walking to a control panel. The TV included Israeli channels (11, 12, and 13), which we appreciated. Breakfast on the 10th floor was excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options, and the waiter service was above average. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional care provided by Ilia, the hotel's Public Relations Manager. She guided us almost from the moment we arrived until we left — recommending excellent tavernas, booking taxis, restaurants, and arranging a private guided tour. On our last day, we were also warmly greeted by Dionysia in the lounge — charming and attentive. That said, there were some drawbacks: Reception service was inconsistent – not all staff members were welcoming; some appeared cold or offered forced smiles. The business lounge was disappointing – small, crowded, with modest food and drink offerings and uninspiring seating. It felt more like a repurposed room than a proper lounge. The pools require advance reservation, with no room for spontaneity. Usage hours are segmented (e.g., 1–4 PM or 4–7 PM), and spots after 7 PM are very limited. The rooftop pool area is crowded, and the adjacent restaurant is also open to non-guests. Rooftop restaurant experience: One evening we returned from a night out and hoped to enjoy a drink with a view. Although two front-row tables overlooking the Acropolis were available, we were initially told they were reserved. Minutes later, we were informed we could sit there for a €25 minimum spend per person. The sudden shift from ”reserved” to ”available for a price” was off-putting — especially as hotel guests staying in suites. The guided tour recommended by the hotel involved nearly 4 hours of driving during a 5-hour trip, leaving us with very little time at each stop. We suggest skipping it. Bottom line: The hotel is modern, very clean, and the suites are luxurious. Service is mostly excellent, particularly thanks to Ilia and Dionysia. However, don't count on spontaneous access to the pool or rooftop restaurant — enjoying those requires planning ahead, much like booking a theater show. If you value well-designed suites and structured experiences, this hotel may be a great fit. If you’re looking for flexibility and full-day pampering from hotel facilities — you might find it a bit limiting.
