"I booked a last-minute stay at Hotel Impero and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Although the price was high due to the short notice, it was a good experience overall. The room was clean, reasonably spacious for one person, and conveniently located near Termini Station. The balcony offered a lovely view of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma 😃 The staff member who welcomed me late at night was very attentive and fluent in several languages. The one who handled my check-out was not as friendly, but nothing major. Overall, I would recommend this hotel."

"The room was clean and spacious enough, and there was a pantry on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors where you could get your own drinking water. I'd read reviews saying some equipment was broken and thought maybe people just didn't know how to use it, but it really was faulty. Out of hot, cold, and sparkling water, only the hot water dispenser worked. Even after a staff member came to check, they confirmed there was an issue. I tried the ones on the 3rd and 4th floors too, same problem, so it's clearly a lack of maintenance. Breakfast was €25 per person, but it was absolutely nothing special. The selection was extremely limited, just a few types of bread, and they weren't refilled when they ran out. I noticed European guests were guided to their tables and proactively offered coffee and tea. For the three tables of Asian guests, myself included, we all had to find our own seats and there were no drinks placed on our tables. We had to go to the counter to order our own. I hope I'm mistaken about this. Finally, the worst experience was when the fire alarm malfunctioned and went off at 5 AM, sending all the guests on the entire floor rushing out to wait by the entrance."

"The hotel is very close to the train station and the airport shuttle stop, just a 10-minute walk away. It's also within walking distance of attractions like Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, and the Borghese Gallery. The metro station is nearby too, making it convenient to get to Vatican City. The hotel has a classic style. The room was a bit small, but considering how expensive hotels are in Rome, it offered good value for money. Being so close to the train station, I was initially worried about the neighborhood's environment and safety based on online reviews, but it turned out to be very nice and not chaotic at all. I'd definitely recommend it!"

"Overall, the stay was very pleasant — the hotel has an excellent location, a nice environment, and the facilities are very new. However, the service from one young female receptionist was quite disappointing. At check-in, she asked us to wait while she “checked the room,” but during this time, she processed another couple’s check-in (same room type) right away and handed them the key cards. She never called us over, and after we had already waited for about 20 minutes, I went to ask her. Only then did she act as if she had “forgotten” us and handed us the cards, saying the room was ready. This left us with a poor impression, whether it was negligence or simply an unfriendly attitude. Later, when we realised there were no tissues in the room, we called the front desk to request some. Unfortunately, no one ever delivered them, and after that, the front desk phone was no longer reachable."

"Health and service are very good, the bathroom is slightly smaller. The hotel is in a good location, divided into the main building and the annex building. The main building is on the Spanish ladder. It is directly connected to the elevator from the subway station and the front desk is there. The annexe is below the stairs, and on the edge of Plaza de España, you can see the pillar. It is recommended to be the main building, the main checkin and the luggage storage at the back are not convenient. The annex we booked seems to have been deceived by the comments, saying that it is facing the Spanish ladder, but it is actually invisible. And living in the annex building, first go to the main building to check in, and then walk down the annex building from the main building (the platform on the Spanish ladder). Breakfast is also in the main building, of course it can also be delivered to the room. After checkout, it is too hard to store luggage and go to the main building. The room we booked has a step from the bathroom to the bed, and the connection is black marble, which is easy to fall at night."

"It's a fast chain hotel. The good points of this hotel: the location is very good, the train station and various attractions are within walking distance. I booked this hotel on the spur of the moment to catch a flight, which is very convenient. The front desk is very enthusiastic, and there is a grandfather who is very nice. I went to catch the train at 5 am. Since the elevator 🛗 is a manual one, if there is a floor that is not closed, the elevator will be useless. The grandfather personally helped me lift the suitcase to the first floor! The price-performance ratio is too high! It is the cheapest hotel I stayed in during this trip to Europe. If you want to experience living in a beautiful old house in Rome, this is a very good hotel"

MMichael_KOur stay at the Viminale View Hotel was an acceptable one - but we would unlikely return on a future visit to Rome. Arriving at the hotel in the early afternoon, we were pleased to be allowed to check in ahead of the published time (14:00hrs). The service was friendly and efficient and we were quickly shown to our room - that being a ‘deluxe’ room at the end of a corridor. Room number 1 was to be our home for four nights. The room was of a good size and well-equipped e.g. towels, tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge (with optional mini-bar), a television and a bathroom - with an excellent free standing bath tub in the centre of the bedroom. Perhaps my biggest gripe with the hotel was the disappointing view from the room. A ‘Viminale View’ it most certainly was not. Interestingly, room number 1 was the only room on the wrong side of the building. All others, including cheaper standard rooms, had the all-important Viminale view. In fact, not from anywhere in the hotel could we see the Viminale, since the reception area too was without any windows. Our two windows looked out onto a gutter on one side and an adjacent building on the other. We paid a little extra for breakfast, which was of a simple but acceptable standard. Given the size of the hotel with just 10 rooms, an extravagant buffet was not expected. More a continental selection, there was enough to keep us going until lunchtime. Cold meats, cheese, bread, pastries, yoghurts, toast etc, with scrambled egg and sausage available as hot options. Hot drinks were made on request. As a smaller establishment, this accommodation appeared only ever to be staffed by one person at a time, which somewhat impacted service. Once seated for breakfast, we were provided with a hot drink and then left to it. There was no opportunity to request further drinks, which was a little disappointing. And on one occasion, we watched as a guest had to go in search of a member of staff in order to get a cup of coffee. Perhaps in the mornings, especially with breakfast to provide and guests occasionally checking out, a second staff member would be beneficial. House-keeping was of a good standard but returning on our last night, we were keen to enjoy a coffee, only to find that our supplies had not been replenished and our cups were still dirty on the side. As a hotel unstaffed after 17:00hrs, it wasn’t a simple case of calling for some coffee, rather just going without. Whilst an enjoyable stay, the view from the room and the lack of hotel staff beyond 17:00hrs just didn’t work for us.

GGuest UserAn Unforgettable Stay with Exceptional Service at Starhotels Hello, I’m a traveler from Korea who recently stayed at Starhotels during a family trip to Italy. Our 4-day stay in Rome was so wonderful that I felt compelled to write this heartfelt review as soon as I returned home. This trip was our very first family vacation to Europe — with my mother and my son — and we spent the first three days in Rome at Starhotels. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations: the excellent location, the spotless rooms, and most of all, the warm and thoughtful service from the staff made our stay incredibly comfortable. We were so satisfied that we decided to return to Starhotels for our final night in Italy. However, due to a mistake on my part, I accidentally booked the wrong date. After completing a long 11-day journey through southern Italy, we returned to Rome exhausted — only to realize the booking was incorrect when we arrived at the hotel. It was a stressful and overwhelming moment… until Mr. Tofael M., the manager, kindly stepped in to help us. Before even fully understanding the issue, Mr. Tofael looked us — especially my son — in the eyes and simply said, “Don’t worry.I’ll find a solution for you.” Those few words brought such relief and comfort. In a foreign country, such a mistake can feel paralyzing, but his calm and genuine reassurance made a huge difference. Even more touching was how Mr. Tofael and Ms. Paola S. at the front desk went out of their way to find a solution for us. Since the booking was made through an external site (not directly through the hotel), it was a complicated issue. Nevertheless, Mr. Tofael personally made multiple calls and followed up diligently until he was able to resolve the matter. Thanks to his efforts, we were able to spend our last night in Italy exactly where we wanted — back at Starhotels, feeling safe and cared for. As someone who has worked for years in global hotel chains in Korea and is still in the hospitality industry, I can honestly say that their professionalism and dedication truly stood out. They are a model of what true hoteliers should be — and they absolutely deserve recognition and praise. Without hesitation, I will choose this hotel again when I return to Rome. I also plan to recommend Starhotels, along with the outstanding service of Mr. Tofael and Ms. Paola, to as many people as possible through blogs, travel communities, and any platform I can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

ИИлья КотикTLTR: This is not a 4 star hotel. The location is great, but literally everything else is a compromise… Let me start with 2 advantages of this hotel, since it won’t take long. The first is location. You literally take the north exit from Roma Termini to Via Marsala, cross two streets and take a right - and you are there! It’s that simple :) The other advantage is breakfast: it’s the same everyday, but it’s decent, much better than I expected. And now to the disadvantages… First and foremost: there was black mold in the bathroom! Lots of it. Why “lots”? Because the acceptable amount of mold in the bathroom for a 4 start hotel is zero. Second, the bed didn’t have a headboard. Do you know the acceptable number of headboards for a 4 start hotel? You guessed it: at least one :) The bed was actually two beds crammed together (which I don’t mind), but there was no duvet cover! Seriously: there was a sheet to sleep on, a separate sheet to cover yourself, a warm blanket and a sheet to put over it! Needless to say that during the night the sheet that was between the body and the blanket would be carried away. And yeah, all this 3-in-1 construction was tucked under the mattress like the future of Italy depends on it! What the actual ****?! Do you sleep like that at home? I bet you don’t; so, why would you sleep like that in a 4 star hotel?! Thirdly, there were no slippers, no microwave, no ******* table to eat from, no teakettle, no iron, no shower curtain, nothing! What we got was two paper cups in the bathroom and that’s it. 4 star hotel class service, right? It gets better! If we wanted hot water, we had to go downstairs from the 4th floor to get it from a broken *** mid-sized boiler located right next to the reception desk! Dear guests of this 4 star hotel, please don’t mind my wife getting some hot water for her noodles while you check in and pay tourist tax, it’s fine. When in Rome, you know… Fourthly, the quality of everything in the room was not great… to say the least. The walls were dirty, the hair dryer was really bad, the bottom of the bathroom door was broken. What the ****, guys?! Have you heard of amortization of assets or something? Not cool, not cool. I pay the tax, you fix the ******* door, ok? Lastly, my favorite… there was such a big gap under the front door of the room that everything that was happening on the hotel floor sounded like it was happening in our corridor. I don’t mind people walking past our door, but it really felt like there constantly was a stranger in our room. Couldn’t sleep well because of that. And let me tell you that there was some loud love-making somewhere on the floor… and I felt like a couple was ******* in our corridor! 4 star hotel experience? Not by a bit… All right, let me tell you why I put such a stress on this “4 star hotel” thing. The problem is that in Italy stars in a hotel don’t mean anything! I mean, they mean that the building has a certain amount of facilities, space, etc., but there is no correlation with the quality of staying in a room. Seriously, we stayed in a 3 star hotel in Venice and the room there was much better! To sum it up, this hotel is nice if you need a quick stay next to the railway station… but if you plan to spend more than two days in it… just pick something else if your budget allows. If not: well, you still got the location and the breakfast :) P.S. Cheers to the Asian and the African girls at the reception desk! You are the best :)

PPhillipsBenjaminWe stayed here for four nights in June of 2025. The location of the hotel is generally good for getting to some of the more noteworthy site (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc.). There's a metro station around 8 minutes walk away, which opens up most of the rest of the city pretty well. We walked from here to the Vatican, which took around 35 minutes, but would be less than half that by cab. The surrounding area is great for clothing shops, but the food we found nearby was mostly so-so, and frequently over-priced tourist fare, though I'm sure if you walk a little farther from the hotel you can find some good options. The room itself was booked for a family of four, and was comfortable. The bathroom and shower had good water pressure, and the AC worked just fine. Some of the sheets were not quite clean, but we just didn't use the one we found slightly dirty. The beds were comfortable and a good size. The room and hotel have little to no facilities, so you're really just paying for room and the location. The exterior entrance is not well marked, and we actually walked past it on the street several times. If you're thinking of booking here, I'd recommend just looking for the GAP store which is directly across the street, much easier to find. Our interactions with the hotel staff were limited. We received a number of automated messages, some of which were contradictory, or had out of date information. After booking and paying for the room (a non-refundable booking) we were told there was an extra ”city tax” not included which would need to be paid before checking in which amounted to around an extra $90 or so, and the offered price of an airport transfer service went up as soon as we requested it (from 85 euros to 95). The hotel arranged the transfer service for us, but the driver left the airport before we could get out of the passport control due to another booking. The driver service showed up at the hotel at the time the flight was supposed to arrive, even though the flight was late, and you'd expect them to know that going through passport control takes easily an hour, so this seems to be quite poor planning on behalf of either the hotel or the service. We ended up taking a taxi from the airport which was also slightly over half the price of the transfer service, so I'd recommend skipping their service, it seems like a rip-off. Taxis from the airport to the city center seem to be subsidized by the government, and were a fixed price of 55 euros (for a normal size car big enough for 4 people) at the time we visited. The train from the airport is also not a bad idea if you're comfortable using the metro, as the train station is just 3-4 metro stops from the nearest metro station to the hotel (Spagna). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but felt like we mostly paid for the location.

DdisasterEXEHotel Caravel is a few blocks away from Stazione Garbatella. The staff speak Spanish, English, and Italian (probably other languages as well). I had the pleasure to stay at Caravel for seven days with my father and they were very accommodating to his needs (such as keeping his laptop safe and providing him with an electric kettle for a night time cup of tea). They also have electric plug adaptors, and they offer third party laundry services. The hotel has accessible ramps, and the venue has a clothes store, bar, breakfast bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet is very varied with some food items made in-house. I hope I get to stay with them next time I visit Rome. My favorite breakfast (which I had almost every day) is seen in this picture.

GGuest UserThe hotel has a convenient location, two steps from the Trevi Fountain. Overall, you can stay here for a couple of nights, but next time I'll look for something more comfortable. Cleanliness is mixed: on the one hand, the room was cleaned every day, bed linen and towels were changed, and the bathroom was well-cleaned. On the other hand, the carpet in the room is definitely unnecessary, why do they use it in hotels with high traffic? The carpet was poorly cleaned (or not cleaned at all) by the time we arrived, so we walked around the room exclusively in slippers. The bathroom was very stuffy, like a sauna, and we could not figure out how to deal with the air conditioning, it seemed that the bathroom was heated centrally. However, the air conditioning in the room itself did not work, but we did not contact them, since the nights were warm and we did not freeze. Yes, an important point! There is no soundproofing in the hotel at all, I woke up at night and early in the morning from footsteps in the hallway and someone's conversations.

GGuest UserTitle: A Comfortable Stay at Hotel.Paris in Rome: Convenient Location and Helpful Staff Introduction: During my recent trip to Rome, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel.Paris for four days. The overall experience was comfortable, thanks to its convenient location, helpful staff, and pleasant atmosphere. However, the repetitive breakfast menu may become monotonous for guests planning an extended stay. Location and Accessibility: Hotel.Paris is situated in a prime location, just a 10-minute walk from Termini, making it extremely convenient for travelers arriving by train or using public transportation. The hotel's proximity to many major attractions was a significant advantage, allowing guests to easily explore the city's landmarks and cultural sites without spending excessive time on commuting. Comfortable Stay and Helpful Staff: The hotel provided a comfortable stay with clean and well-maintained rooms. The ambiance was pleasant, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere after a day of sightseeing. The staff members were exceptionally helpful, offering prompt assistance and providing useful recommendations for nearby attractions and dining options. Their attentive and friendly service added to the overall positive experience. Breakfast Experience: One area where Hotel.Paris could improve is the breakfast menu. While the quality of the food was satisfactory, the fixed breakfast menu for all days became somewhat monotonous for guests planning to stay for more than a day. Having a limited selection of dishes might disappoint those who prefer variety or have specific dietary requirements. Introducing some variety or offering alternatives for guests staying multiple days would greatly enhance the breakfast experience. Conclusion: Hotel.Paris in Rome offers a comfortable and convenient stay, with its prime location and helpful staff being notable highlights. The proximity to Termini and major attractions makes it an excellent choice for travelers looking to explore the city with ease. However, the fixed breakfast menu may become monotonous for guests staying for an extended period. With a little improvement in this area, Hotel.Paris has the potential to enhance the overall guest experience and become an even more popular choice among travelers visiting Rome.
