"In the hotel's restaurant. We had to wait some considerable time to be attended to, we ended up seating ourselves, getting our own menus and water, whilst the sole server juggled his other responsibilities. After a very ordinary fish & chips meal, with the thinnest fries we've ever seen we received a bill for the equivalent of AUD $90 to which not only had a 4% kitchen charge been added but additionally a further 18% service charge. Neither the meal or service justified this charge in any way. We left what we considered to be a fair and reasonable payment which more than covered the cost. For the AUD$ 75 cost we could have fed four people with a far better quality meal. We had been unable to use our drinks voucher in the restaurant, so after the meal we went to the bar in the same hotel to use our vouchers to get a drink. Whilst there a very disgruntled server from the restaurant and some random woman from the bar came and accosted us, snatching a jam jar of tap water we had brought round with us to finish at the bar. We were basically accused of stealing a jam jar of tap water whilst sitting at a bar in the same hotel, as paying guests! A waiter from the restaurant hung around the entire time just to ensure he got his jam jar back! Next morning we loaded our own cases onto the free shuttle bus. The driver tried to dismantle our cases, we asked him to leave our cases to allow space for other guests & we wanted them to stand in the luggage space adjacent to the rack, as they had done on the way to the hotel. The driver began shouting at us, threw a tantrum & went to get his boss, who came out & saw no issue with our cases. The driver then began driving recklessly, racing round corners and braking heavily. Guests had to tell him to slowdown and stop driving dangerously. He then made all the guests remove their own bags unassisted after we informed him his behaviour certainly did not warrant any tips! A shocking & horrible end to our holiday & not a very good advertisement for the USA Dreadful tipping culture of entitlement even if service does not warrant it! ."

"The shower only has hot water, and the water pressure drops to almost zero when you switch to cold water, so you have to shower in the steam room... I don't know if the other rooms are the same, but there are a lot of problems with the shower in room 813. Please fix it and sell it.. This is the strangest shower I've ever seen.. Other than that, it's average.. You can tell that the prices in Waikiki are high by looking at the hotel.. This hotel is as expensive as the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, but the quality is worse than a tourist hotel.. Breakfast is the best ever..."

Whether traveling by car, public transportation, rideshare, or the trolley; we are easy to find. Hilton Waikiki Beach boasts a Resort feel offering a recreation deck with a signature pool, mini golf, day beds, cabanas, Hang 10 Pool Bar, fire pits, and live music on select nights. Dining options include M.A.C. 24/7, M.A.C. 2 Go offering Starbucks products, and L.B.L.E. Lounge. Rooms offer a variety of views, selection of bedding types, and the conveniences of a full service hotel and the comforts of home.

"Let's start with the positives: The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a stunning ocean view, and I woke up to the beautiful beach every morning 🥰. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful 🫶. The room was also very spacious; coming from Tokyo to Hawaii, I really appreciated the upgrade in space 😍. There are many bus routes right outside the hotel, making it easy to get to Pearl Harbor. The Pink Line of the 'Waikiki Trolley' also stops directly at the hotel entrance, which is great for going shopping at Ala Moana. Now for some areas for improvement: The room didn't have many amenities, and there was no free bottled water. It's a bit far from shopping and dining areas; getting to lively spots usually takes more than a 10-minute walk. However, if you love surfing 🏄‍♂️, this is a great choice as the beach is just a short walk away."

"The room felt quite new, likely having been renovated within the last two years. The only downside was the incessant sound of running water in our room, day and night. I suspect it's from a water pipe within the wall. Also, the microwave is located at the very end of the corridors on the 9th and 15th floors, built into a wall niche. If you're trying to heat up a couple of items, there's absolutely no counter space or anywhere to set things down beside it."

"Booking in at reception was a friendly and very easy experience. The room was good but had more of a close up view of bushes than a City View. The food I had was good, however the bar was often very busy with just one person making the food and serving drinks. I tried to get served a few times but had to leave and returned a bit later for service. The location was very good for bus services and convenient for walking to local Waikiki beaches and along Kalakaua Ave."

"Overall, everything was up to standard. While it was pricey, as is typical for Waikiki during peak season, I still felt the value for money was quite good. The swimming pool is on the smaller side, so don't expect too much. Although Waikiki is generally convenient, I found this specific location to be exceptionally good, with Target and the International Market Place right across the street."

Hotel near Waikiki,Honolulu
Nestled on lively Kuhio Avenue, Romer House stands proudly amidst the bustling International Market Place and the renowned Marugame Udon. Our establishment is a tribute to the vibrant neighborhood, positioned at the heart of Waikiki, mere steps away from the pristine beaches. We offer guests an upscale retreat immersed in island culture yet distanced from the hustle and bustle. Each of our 179 hotel rooms pays homage to Waikiki’s Mid-Century apartment architecture, many featuring private lanais for a touch of serenity. On the ground floor, our lively neighborhood izakaya beckons with a fusion of Japanese-Hawaiian cuisine, perfect for sharing during leisurely evenings of camaraderie. Meanwhile, the second floor Backyard pool club provides a relaxed and sociable atmosphere without the splash-zone distractions.

"Stayed one night since I was visiting Oahu to eat at some new restaurants. The price was budget friendly and the location was perfect since it’s right across the street from the International Marketplace. Room was clean and spacious but it was because I got the ADA one. Only complaint about the room was the sound of an ice machine or some kind of faucet every so often by the headboard of the bed. There must be something across the wall from it since it is a corner room and no adjacent neighboring rooms. Overall though I would go back largely for the location. The hallways are a bit trippy if not creepy in a cool way."

"After almost a decade, I found myself back on Oahu and checking into the Hilton once more. This time, I was very fortunate to encounter a Chinese-speaking front desk agent who enabled us to check in early, a little after 1 PM. We also upgraded to the Tapa Tower for an additional $30 per day. Upon checking in, I realized it was the same tower I'd stayed in years ago. It's only slightly set back from the Rainbow Tower but is significantly more affordable, and elevator wait times were brief, usually under a minute. A big thank you to that Chinese-speaking front desk agent, who clearly outlined the room options and availability across the different towers. Just a friendly reminder: make sure to sign up for a free Hilton Honors membership; otherwise, check-in is not until 4 PM! However, not all staff members embodied the aloha spirit. Specifically, there was an older, somewhat heavy-set male baggage handler who was incredibly rude and dismissive, with a perpetually grumpy expression. He was the sole reason for any negative impression and instantly put a damper on our mood right after checking in."

NNoskovConsider it a happy little accident. I had missed my flight home because of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade and was stuck an extra day on Oahu. I looked to see what was the cheapest hotel room available and the Ka La’i popped up which surprised me. Booked the room quick because the Honolulu Marathon was the following day and almost every hotel was sold out. I got an ocean view suite with a King bed as my room and loved it. Bathroom was amazing, bed was super comfortable and overall the suite was spacious. Although it had a kitchen it didn’t have a dedicated dining table, even a small one. Only thing in the sitting area was a glass coffee table that was long enough for my needs of just a late night pizza dinner. Staff was helpful and even as I was checking out, I casually asked if I could tour the Penthouse suite because I had always wanted to book it. The 2 front desk workers escorted me to the Penthouse and gave me a little tour. It was impressive. Definitely would stay there again soon.

GGuest UserVery pleased with our stay! Excellent location beachfront. Beautiful views of Diamond Head Crater. Super excellent location to be in the middle of all shops, beaches and restaurants . Short walks to explore & enjoy up and down the streets and beaches! All staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Clean and well maintained. Great assistance with booking activities. My daughter took a surf lesson. Beachside conveniently had plenty of water activities to enjoy with an area to rent paddle boards , surf boards, floats, chairs & umbrellas. The restaurants inside the resort were excellent and convenient with outdoor seating and ocean views! ABC general store on lower level to shop for anything needed from drinks, snacks, beach towels, souvenirs, sunscreen etc…The resort also offers free activities that are on a schedule week by week, such as yoga, hula lessons, Lei & bracelet making, vow renewals & ukulele lessons! My 15yo daughter took a ukulele lesson, then shopped around and bought one to bring home!!! We have absolutely no complaints about our stay! Will absolutely be coming back in the future. Our flight home was a late evening flight & our check out time was 11:00am, so the bell hop service held our luggage for us so we could enjoy the rest of our last day on the beach. Then we decided to top off our last day to pamper ourselves with a spa treat, which is located on the top floor of the resort. I got a massage. My daughter got a facial. Afterwards we got to go to the outside roof top and enjoy the awesome view feeling refreshed & relaxed. I can go on and on about the positives of this vacation stay. There were no negative issues!

GGuest UserI don’t usually do reviews but I have to because people should know what they are buying and not be surprised when they get there. I’m not a hard person to please so I choose this hotel which in my opinion was actually a motel. If you know the difference between a hotel and a motel you understood that. Anyway the rooms are very small the decor is out dated very little amenities a free water bottle when you check in, hard pillows, no printing station for the guest, no hotel transportation or shuttle toilet ran all night the shower was dirty small bathroom with very low water pressure the only thing I enjoyed about my stay was my ocean front room I stayed on the patio the majority of the time we where inside our room. The view made up for the horrible room/hotel I would never stay there again when doing my search it kept saying that was the only hotel that had ocean front so be aware when booking your trip to Hawaii because that’s not true!!!

AAnonymous UserFor our recent trip to Hawaii, we chose the Poolside Suite at Wayfinder Waikiki — and it was such a great choice. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated in a tropical, laid-back style, and had direct access to the pool right from the terrace. It honestly felt like our own private villa! The pool area is small but super stylish and peaceful — perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee. ☕️ The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the whole vibe of the hotel felt very local and welcoming. One thing to note: it’s a little bit of a walk from the main strip of Waikiki, but that also means it’s quieter and more relaxing. If you’re looking to enjoy both the beach and a cool hotel experience, this is a great place to stay!

Mmay3Since I was mainly visiting Kauai, I stayed here for three days and two nights, focusing entirely on Ala Moana. It's directly connected to Ala Moana, which is very convenient. I ate at the food court. I had a hearty dinner watching the sunset at Signature Steak & Seafood on the top floor of the hotel. You can also go to Ala Moana Beach. They also offer free water dispensers. My shower wasn't working properly, so I called and they fixed it right away. The service was excellent. The view wasn't great, but that wasn't a concern, so I was able to stay a little cheaper. It's also great that there's no resort fee. There's a Starbucks below the hotel, and it's always open! It's a hidden gem. I recommend this hotel for those who want to explore the main Ala Moana area. The staff were also very helpful.

MmrKarstenStaying at Manoa Inn feels like stepping into a living piece of Honolulu’s layered past. This plantation-style historical house is full of quiet character, from its timeworn woodwork to the gentle creak of its stairways. The inn is surrounded by gardens that seem to breathe—ferns unfolding, orchids slipping open, birds singing from hidden corners. One morning, I sipped coffee to the chatter of parrots and caught the city unfolding below through a frame of palms. The location is as thoughtful as the house itself—steps away from the East-West Center, the serene carp garden, and the Manoa Japanese Tea House. Nearby cafés and small eateries feed both hunger and curiosity without fanfare. Nothing here feels manufactured. The inn doesn’t shout for attention—it invites you to listen, to linger, to notice. I left with a sense of having not just visited, but having been quietly welcomed.

GGuest UserThere is a main building and an annex, but the annex is really bad, and if you stay in the main building, the cost-effectiveness is really good! I stayed for 3 nights and stayed in the annex on the first day and was so depressed that I paid extra money to upgrade my room to the main building, and I was very satisfied! And it's very noisy because it's a downtown area, so take that into consideration! This is a picture of the bathroom when I stayed in the annex, but there was no ventilation and no lighting in the shower cubicle.. It was poor. Compare it with the pictures of the main building!
