We called the front desk three times during our stay, twice because we didn't have our room cards. Situated right by the Bama River, the hotel offers lovely views. The interior design is quite appealing, and the full-length mirror in the room was a fantastic touch! The bathroom was spacious and spotless. What really stood out was breakfast, which even included *douhua* (tofu pudding) – that definitely gets top marks! We select this hotel as we have an early train next morning but the room turned out to be better than expected, spacious and clean. The reception, 小黄 was warm and friendly for our checking-in. When cigarette smell spread to our room at night from the ventilation, she risked the wrath of her manager and got permission to shift us to another floor which we greatly appreciate. It was our 5th hotel in Guangxi and the hotel breakfast was the best so far. 1st time got coffee at breakfast.

The exterior is grand, but the interior is a complete mess! The bed in the room is so tight that if one person turns over, everyone else feels like they're on a boat. My husband and I were practically afraid to move, worried about disturbing our child's sleep. The bedside table was so wobbly that we didn't dare put anything on it. We contacted the hotel, and they replaced the bedside table with two decent ones, but the bed issue remained unresolved because we saw the same problem in other rooms! The floors and walls were dilapidated, and the breakfast selection and quality were worse than a budget hotel. The only redeeming quality was the smiling service from the staff, who genuinely tried to resolve the issues, but unfortunately, the hotel is just too old.
