"The hotel is located in the heart of Chongqing, which made it incredibly easy to visit the most important attractions of the city by foot. The hotel staff is very friendly and they do their best to help you as much as possible. Moreover, when you arrive, they provide you with helpful information about tourist attractions and restaurant recommendations. The only downside is the wait times for the elevators, but they warn you about most busy times for the elevators. All in all, I recommend this hotel to anyone trying to make the most out of their stay in Chongqing."

"I had a great stay at this hotel- the room is very comfortable, and it’s easy to communicate with the friendly staff (through WeChat). They were very responsive and quick to attend to any needs. The location is very convenient too. Please do keep in mind that they don’t have laundry services or hotel breakfast. I think they do have drinks/snacks(?) available at the reception but I didn’t have the time to check that out.
However, I was a little worried about the cleanliness of the bathroom (shower area). Moreover, I felt a few concerns in regard to safety, as it’s a big building with different hotels on each floor, and a keycard is not required to get onto any floor of the building."

"Wow this was truly one of the most unforgettable hotel stays I’ve ever had! The room itself was absolutely mind-blowing: a private pool inside the living room? Just wow. Even better than on the pictures.
The almost 360-degree panoramic view over the city took my breath away. Everything was spotless, fully equipped with top-notch amenities, and there was even a cinema screen right in the room, such a cool touch.
I was also welcomed with a lovely bottle of sparkling wine, which made the experience feel even more special. I especially loved the bedroom being upstairs, adding a unique and cozy vibe to the whole space.
Would recommend this place with my eyes closed, a total dream stay!"

"This is a lovely hotel. Actually I was given an upgrade that was very much appreciated. I marked the hotel low on amenities because the WiFi was as good as useless; I had to send voice messages to my wife because voice was terrible. And in addition I missed not having a drinks bar & snack for the evening. Oh one last thing, I wanted to use the pool but was told I need a swimming cap; I have very little hair & couldn’t be bothered looking for one in the shopping malls.
On a very very positive note, when leaving I had a problem book a DD taxi through Alipay. Zoe on reception was attentive & even paid on her account (her paid her cash) to get me going & on time for a booked train.

"I woke up feeling very unwell on the 2nd night of our stay. When my husband mentioned to the restaurant staff that I was feeling sick and couldn't eat, they kindly delivered a bowl of noodles and a bowl of congee up to the room. Later on while having our room serviced, 何腊梅, having seen that I was unwell and throwing up, gave extra room supplies and towels to make me feel more comfortable and at ease. 何腊梅 phoned the restaurant and asked for a hot ginger beverage to be sent up to the room. Very soon after drinking the hot beverage, all the nausea left me and I felt completely revived. Thank you to all the staff who took care of us, especially 何腊梅."

The laundry service was also a godsent 🤣
Hopefully will have microwave and that the air conditioner won’t be centralised in the future though.
Location wise was just less than 5 minutes walk to the 解放碑 and food is easy to get.

"We took the river view room and I would give this hotel 10/10 but sadly the huge downside is their uncomfortable bed . The mattress is super hard like concrete!! I suffered from very painful stiff neck and shoulder because of it . Sleeping was very painful and uncomfortable which affected our whole vacation time negatively."

GGaryWe stayed at The Regent for two nights and are very happy with the experience. At check-on, June and Nicole were patient with our inefficient Putonghua while introducing hotel services and facilities in details such as pool's open hour, whether swimming cap is included and the complimentary mini bar and laundry etc. The hotel is beautifully designed with dark wood rendering a sense of serenity and elegance. Our rooms enjoy captivating views of the river and Hongya Dong. The interior of the room aligns the design of the hotel with aesthetic details such as red tissue box, red stationery box, collateral with soft floral illustration. The bed is very comfortable, the firmness of the mattress is just rigjt.The hotel offers a range of amenities for our convenience which is thoughtful. The complimentary mini bar included soft drinks, white wine, beer and snacks, a very nice offerings..Each room received complimentary laundry of 3 pieces of basic garment which suit our needs. We enjoyed the complimentary special bath as well, rose bath and lemon bath, it is a fantastic gesture. We had breakfast at the Lounge, the buffet quality and selection were wonderful. The Chongqing XiaoMian was the star. The local breakfast specialities and the western choices were all tasty including the fried mackeral, steamed dim sum and the fresh salad. The hotel pool is nice, it is 25m and is indoor. The Regent is located in the financial district, adjacent to a shopping mall. There is a good variety of restaurants and local stores. The Concierge team is friendly and helpful I was not able to catch the team member's name but he has assisted us with our luggages and saw us off with a sincere smile. We had a very memorable stay!

GGuest UserDuring the Spring Festival, my family chose Longmen Pucun B&B to celebrate the Spring Festival. The village is green, with small bridges and flowing water. The various landscapes are beautifully arranged. The room space design is very stylish. There is a public tea room and lazy sofas in the room, so you can be quiet during the festival. The housekeeper contacted me on WeChat early and turned on the air conditioning and floor heating in the room in advance, which was full of warmth. The dinner and breakfast in the restaurant are delicious, and the service pays attention to details. I will go to Pucun again if I have the chance.

GGuest UserIt was my first time traveling to Chongqing and I chose this hotel among many. I was just going to give it a try, but I was surprised by how polite the front desk lady was. The air conditioning in the room was already on, so it was very cool. The room was very clean and hygienic, and all the products were disposable. I added the hotel on WeChat, and the staff responded quickly and were very friendly. There's a subway downstairs, and there are many famous attractions around. The perfect experience made us decide to extend our stay. It was a great experience and I highly recommend everyone to try it.

JJENNY WAI LINGWe had a wonderful stay as a family with young kids! The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions, which made our family outings smooth and fun. One minor downside was that the toilet door didn’t have a lock, which made privacy a bit of a challenge—especially with young children around. While there weren’t specific kids’ amenities, the overall experience was very positive, and we felt truly welcome.

The television is set in a way where you have access to the hdmi ports, so you can connect your laptop or phone and watch whatever you want :)
There is a full size refrigerator and freezer in this room. Many hotels in Chongqing have refrigerators which do not get cold enough; this place has a real fridge that actually works.
The bed is comfortable
The room is gorgeous. It looks like it would cost 500usd a night or something. Yet, i paid $600 for TWO ROOMS for 6 nights! $50 a room. Unbelievable. And both of our rooms were on the 43rd floor. One of the best views in the city!
The room has a nice laundry machine, and they may provide detergent upon request.
The bathroom has a smart toilet, with bidet etc.
The shower has a system you can turn on to ventilate all the steam.
There is a full kitchen area, complete with a dish washer. Not that you’d need to cook anyway, with how good the food is nearby
This is the best location in Chongqing. Jiefangbei is exactly where you want to be, and this hotel is less than a 15 minute walk to all the best places to eat, shop, and hangout!
My bedroom has a projector screen, which doesn’t offer as much freedom as the tv does, but you can still screen cast, it just doesn’t work well if you need a vpn for the content you’re trying to watch.
The staff is incredibly attentive. You will never have to buy your own water.
There is enough space and there are enough chairs in here to host guests. It’s quite spacious.
And again, I can’t say it enough. The interior design is wonderful. If you didn’t know the price, you’d guess it would cost at least 4 times as much as it does.
This place is excellent in every way I can think of.

AArkent NathanaelLocated near Hongyadong, the hotel is located in a very good spot. Though, at first I had trouble finding where the hotel lobby is. You actually have to go to the third floor for the hotel lobby! Many hotpots around. The service from receptionists are very good.
The room sound proofing is good. AirCon is cold. Bed is comfortable and the breakfast has a wide variety of food.

Personally, I would rate if a hotel were a real five star hotel or simply a 'self-proclaimed' five star hotel based on the service rendered. Le Meridien Chongqing excelled in this aspect. Every staff member I had interacted with was friendly and warm.
Check-in: Was swift and unlike many chinese hotels which are distrusting of their customers, they did not ask for a deposit. Saves the hassle.
Room: It was spacious, I had previously read some other reviews which complained about the red cupboard at the entrance was terrifying, but personally I liked the chinese style decor. The aircon was slightly noisy and not the most effective, but I liked sleeping in a slightly cooler room. The bed was comfortable, although one side seemed to be more 'slept in' than the other, possibly a sign of the hotel's age. I did also notice some stains and wear and tear in the room but it was nothing serious so I will let that slide. The greatest sign of wear and tear is the shower head, which although was Hansgrohe branded, felt like it was about to break when I tried to change the shower mode. Toiletries were from the Malin+Goetz brand, which I really liked! But of course, ThisWorks branded ones used by Marriott hotels are slightly better.
Facilities: There was an indoor pool and a well-equipped gym- with a smith machine, something that is not available in some 5 star hotels. Impressive!
Breakfast: This was the greatest let down in the stay experience. As I was going up the lift, I noticed a sign stating that breakfast was on promotion at 68RMB per person. That could not mean anything good. The breakfast experience was cut to the bone. There were almost no hot cooked food options, except from basics such as eggs, toast, cooked chongqing noodles(plain) and dumplings. There is simply no way that this acceptable as a 5 star hotel breakfast, something that seems to be mentioned by other reviewers.
Other hotel restaurants- Not too sure why I bothered to try out the other hotel restaurants after the disappointing breakfast but, the chinese restaurant served food that was tasty, but the so-called ala-carte buffet was not great. The food options seemed like leftovers from another hotel buffet or something, and I counted a total of 5 pieces of beef when I ordered the dish 'black pepper beef'. Service was good and seemed well-intentioned though, although they seemed puzzled that I was not ordering more-- The food was not good!
Location: Located in Nan'an, I had chosen this hotel as it offered better value for money than its 5 star competitors in JieFangBei or the Conrad. It was also located in front of a Rail Transit station although I only used it once since the trains were crowded and it was quicker to grab a DiDi around. I think the biggest plus regarding its location is the adjacent Wanda Plaza, which had everything from a Sephora, Uniqlo and many other shops. I regretted not visiting it first before hopping on the train.
To summarise, I would recommend a first time visitor to Chongqing to stay in this hotel, but would I visit it again? Perhaps not, as I would like to try out other options in Chongqing that are newer, and can provide better breakfasts.

GGuest UserThis is a serviced apartment and I booked 2 x two bedroom River view apartments for my family of 6. We are from the UK and Hong Kong. The apartment was very spacious 128 sq metres with big living room, dining room, kitchen, separate laundry room, master bedroom + en-suite and walk-in closet and 2nd bedroom with bathroom. The view of the river was amazing. The property is right by the riverside in a relatively quiet area and next door is a police station. Chongqing is a very heavily populated city and it was somewhat of a relief to come back to a more peaceful area. It’s very safe and behind the property about 10 mins walk up the stair route is a shopping district. Note: this is a serviced apartment and there are families who live here on a longer term basis. I didn’t notice any big tour group style guests either. It’s not a huge famous branded hotel, so you need to carry the name card and address of the property to tell the taxi drivers.
The breakfast is a simple buffet style. More continental style with a few more hot add-ons like dumplings and eggs. You can also order takeout and the it will be delivered to your room via a robot!
The front desk staff are very helpful although they don’t really speak much English. However, they do try to use a translation app and we were able to converse. They would give us recommendations on tourist hotspots and detailed explanations on how to get there by public transportation. The staff may not be so international, but they are friendly, helpful and kind hearted if you give them some patience. I must commend Nancy from front desk for helping me to courier a jacket which I left in the wardrobe after check-out. It was delivered back to my home in Hong Kong the next day. Much appreciation for her texting me in English and having such a helpful manner.
I was able to use the washing machine/dryer for my laundry and found it thoughtful that they provided a sachet of washing powder. The appliances : fridge, microwave, washing machine, electric hobs are all good quality Siemens, Electrolux. Whilst the property is slightly dated, the decor of the rooms themselves are comfortable and clean and had the sense of quiet luxury. I would recommend that they put in a better quality of shower curtain to keep up with the rest of the decor. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels refreshed daily too. They don’t have cotton buds or cotton wool, toothbrush etc. in the bathroom trays like the do in normal hotels but the front desk do give you a set of toothbrush upon check-in. I believe this is something to do with an eco-friendly policy.
My family members used the pool facilities in the mornings and found it to be big enough for a good swim. The only thing they were not used to was lack of a life-guard manning the pool and also the sauna and steam room were a bit dated.
Overall, a very positive experience and good value for the price. It is like a home away from home and excellent for families who want to be together, yet also retreat to their own rooms.

Mmathew.pathI had a truly pleasant and wonderful stay at the Ashan Hotel. Situated right in the heart of the city, its location couldn’t be more perfect. The most notable feature of the room was the breathtakingly beautiful view — especially spectacular on Saturday nights during the drone show. During the day, you can see nearly all of Chongqing from the room, which adds to the experience. The room itself was expansive, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful amenities. It absolutely delivers value for the price. An unforgettable experience, and I would gladly return.

QQiqishishijiuInside Fairy Mountain, you can walk very close to the tree tops. The key is that the scenery is very good. The green trees and white clouds set off each other. It is really beautiful. Except that it is not particularly convenient to take a taxi and the house is not very soundproof (it seems to have a soundproof room). It's really cost-effective. Breakfast is a buffet, including cold potatoes, porridge, eggs, steamed buns, vegetarian fried cabbage, pickled mustard, steamed pumpkin, and soy milk. I think it tastes very good, especially the potatoes. I just like the crunch. Yes, the customer service attitude is also very good. The hair dryer here is a bit different. You have to press a button all the time after powering on, which is a bit troublesome, but the hair is really smooth after being blown out. In short, it is very good.
