A cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings.
Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends.
The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on.
There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn.
A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day.
The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish.
The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there.
My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

Guest UserWe were a family of four (two adults, two children) on a trip to Chongqing, and after much searching, we chose this guesthouse. It offered great value for money. The room was clean and spacious enough, providing ample room for our two little ones to move around. The host contacted us in advance to provide directions and important information, and also recommended some tourist spots and restaurants. The guesthouse's location is ideal; many attractions are within walking distance. Cloud Eyes, Yangtze River Cableway, Xiaoshizi Metro Station, Jiefangbei, and Bayi Street are all just a short stroll away.

A very satisfying stay. Bus and subway stations are nearby, as are shopping malls and a wide selection of restaurants. The front desk staff were very helpful, and there was coffee and fruit available. There was a washing machine and ironing machine, so I didn't have to worry about my clothes getting wrinkled. The room was a good size and clean. The TV had a projection function, and the front desk even gave me a small gift when I left. I left in a hurry, though, so I didn't take any pictures of the room. Here are some pictures of the front desk. 😋

Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks.
Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares.
The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food.
This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

Guest UserChoosing the right hotel really makes traveling so much easier! The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had no strange odors. The bedding was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and even turned on the air conditioning before we arrived. The hotel is close to the scenic spots, making it very convenient for getting around. The environment is quiet and safe, with excellent facilities and plenty of toiletries. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and it's definitely worth coming back to.

Guest UserA beautiful blend of French and Republic of China-era Chinese architecture. The owner personally picked us up and was incredibly friendly. The breakfast was well-prepared and delicious. The courtyard has a romantic vibe. The French afternoon tea was authentic. There's the Xiahao Li Small Waterfall Bar right outside, and the hotel's inner courtyard is a wonderfully relaxing spot. 👍🏻👍🏻

Pros: First off, the bed was super comfy, which is the most important thing for me when staying at a hotel. Secondly, the room was really spacious, about 30 square meters, and quite clean. The whole room was also pretty and had a nice style. I stayed in two rooms. The first room was a free upgrade from the front desk; that room type had a more logically laid-out bathroom and a washing machine, and it was a bit larger than the bathroom in the second special offer king room. Also, the first room had more tables, so there was plenty of counter space, which I think is great for group travelers. The hotel's security was also good. Finally, the hotel is only 400m from the subway station and just over 500m from the bus stop, a mere three to four-minute walk, so transportation is quite convenient.
Cons: The air conditioning in the first room wasn't facing the bed, and the cooling effect really wasn't very good. I'd get hot just by moving around a little in the room, which might not be ideal for people who are sensitive to heat. Secondly, the room's internet speed was very poor. The internet in the second special offer king room was slightly better, the AC was facing the bed, and the cooling effect was also better.
Below are photos of the special offer king room; the only minor drawback in this room was the small window.

Guest UserFacilities: The facilities are comprehensive, and the rooms are all smart, except for the toilet.
Hygiene: Very clean.
Environment: The hotel room is quite small, but since it's located in Jiefangbei, it's understandable. However, the soundproofing isn't great. People checking in late at night, walking around, etc., can be heard very clearly. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs or… well.
Service: Excellent! The staff are all very proactive and attentive. If you're visiting Chongqing and don't know where to go, you can ask them for travel tips; they have a dedicated travel guide document they can send you.

Guest UserI stayed for several days, and an auntie came to clean the room every day, which was nice. The bathroom in the room also had a wet and dry separation, making it suitable for staying with friends. If we had any issues, we could always contact the staff who were very prompt in resolving them. The lobby provided welcome tea, a microwave, and an ice maker, which was very convenient. Most importantly, the hotel's location is excellent, with many attractions nearby like Eling Stack Road, Hongyadong, and Jiefangbei, all easily accessible.
