Muscat Hotels with Bars

My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was overall enjoyable, with several notable highlights. The hotel’s location near the beachfront is fantastic, offering stunning views of Muscat and the surrounding mountains. The interiors are beautifully designed, featuring natural materials that create a luxurious and calming atmosphere. The rooms were ultra-comfortable, with excellent beds and top-quality linens that made for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including good tea, a Nespresso machine, and water in glass bottles—a healthy and eco-friendly touch. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided were of great quality, and the dental kits were decent. However, I did notice that some toothpaste tubes weren’t fresh, as the paste had become solid and dry in a few sets. Additionally, the shaving kit was of the cheapest level, which didn’t align with the otherwise high standards of the hotel. Breakfast was good but not quite up to the level typically expected from Mandarin Oriental. There’s definitely room for improvement here, but I believe this is something the hotel will refine over time. The staff were polite and professional, which added to the overall positive experience. Considering the hotel is still new, I’d rate the overall experience, including the price/value ratio, as 3.5 out of 5. I’m confident that with time, the hotel will address these minor gaps and elevate the experience to match the impeccable standards the brand is known for.

It’s a very big hotel with apartments and hotels.right in the middle of the grand mall. Very convenient for eat drink and children arcade. Very close to the grand mosque. But taking 20 mins to drive to the old market. It’s a good value very clean super comfortable bed and good size room.

I like this hotel that has a lot of good features. I booked on half board dinner is awful. It cost me 10 extra dollars to book dinner and breakfast and really the dinner wasn't worth the $5 if you divide the meals evenly. The fish was putrid and the selection was substandard. I did manage to get $5 worth of food out of the dinner buffet. I like eggplant luckily. The room's very nice they have two pools one for women only which I would never use and they don't sell alcohol here. Those are the bad points. The room isn't very good condition The housekeeper is a very nice man. The added benefit to staying in this hotel is that it does have one washer and one dryer and I have three loads of filthy clothes. I'm in the process of doing my last load currently. Another bad thing about this hotel is they block you from using the Wi-Fi the minute you step outside so you could use their overpriced taxis. You have to use the Wi-Fi from inside that way you can access your taxi apps and not use the overprice taxis here. The taxis are about 80% more. I would stay here again due to the low price of the bookingand the good condition of the room. Skip dinner there is a fantastic Turkish place in the nearest mall that's about an 8 minute walk..

Disappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.

The hotel is relatively new, the garden is beautiful, and the service staff are different for Chinese and Europeans. The location is far from the city center, and it is not very convenient to get around. You need to walk to the intersection to get a taxi, which is quite troublesome. The taxis at the door are more expensive, so you need to negotiate the price in advance.

No true complaints that would be the fault of the establishment. It was my Ramadan and def my fault for not doing more thorough research. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere or at least that’s how I felt. The food was pretty good though a bit pricey. Since it was Ramadan options were slim to none outside of the hotel during certain hours. I will say the staff was very sweet and beyond kind. On our last morning we left the hotel around 5am. We were provided with a full, cooked to order breakfast and beverage to take away. What I thought would be a bagel and juice was a complete meal of eggs (cooked as requested), oats and fresh fruit and then some.

Really great place to stay, it’s in Al khuwair/ghubra, 13 minutes from Muscat Airport. We arrived early, Sanjana at the desk, organised an early check in, staff was great. Good atmosphere overall. I’m more of bear grylls type, so don’t choose any food options at the hotels, locally explored all kinds of cuisine. Just remember Muscat/Oman in general is not foot travel friendly, so don’t expect signalled crossings for pedestrians. We walked to local shops and restaurants within reason. A beautiful and comfortable hotel on the shore with excellent service, comfortable rooms and picturesque views. The hotel's restaurants and breakfast are of a high standard. The hotel provides a shuttle to the malls and Mutrah Souq. The staff is very friendly and also assists in organizing tours. The location is a little far from the center, as well as malls and attractions, but is excellent for a quiet and comfortable stay.

the room is spacious. the only problem is the shower head is losen, can't be fixed so that inconvenience to shower, also too few towels, missed at least one for floor

Facilities: The room is a little small, and the facilities can be seen to be designed many years ago, but the hygiene is good Environment: The overall environment of the hotel is very good and grand Service: Active and enthusiastic, upgraded the room type for the anniversary, and prepared a cake, which was a little sweet but delicious~ The room itself also prepared chocolate and dates. Actively help with luggage Breakfast is by the pool, blowing the gentle sea breeze~ The breakfast is also quite rich, there is a Chinese area although it is small~ The beach is great after low tide, first-class sea catching, you can catch it all the way under the bridge, many big sand crabs, big hermit crabs, conchs, fish...
