"Honestly, I wasn't expecting much out of this hotel. It was just somewhere to sleep for the night. I'm only writing this review because the young lady at the front counter named Ada went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were as comfortable as possible. She upgraded us to a bigger room with a humongous bed (bigger than king size) and gave us a bowl of fruit as a gift. That, combined with the quick and timely shuttle to the airport in the morning, made this stay at Holiday Inn Express an excellent one. Would definitely stay again. 💯"

"The hotel's airport shuttle service is very convenient, with a scheduled pickup every hour, making it super easy to get around. The room was clean and tidy, exceeding a 3-star standard. I checked in last night, and the two ladies at the front desk were not only beautiful but also incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. They promptly addressed any issues and were very attentive to guests. That's great! Since I'll be leaving Jinan for a few days, one of the ladies mentioned they could provide parking services. After discussing it, the fee was reasonable, which really helped me out of a bind. "The facilities aren't new, and the cleaning staff were great, but the front desk was a whole other story. You had to proactively ask for the welcome drinks and snacks, and even then, they'd only be available the next day during business hours. When my takeout arrived, they didn't send the robot for half an hour. When I called to ask, they told me if I was in a hurry, I could go down and get it myself. I was speechless. They clearly messed up and inconvenienced a customer, yet they were so irresponsible. It was a really bad experience. I'm too lazy to move my luggage, so I'll just make do for a few more days."

"The hotel is great, with a good location and facilities, very close to Baotu Spring. Across the street is Henglong Plaza. However, the service has its own unique style. Shangri-La requires a deposit for guests, and for breakfast, you need to show your room card and state your name. What I disliked the most was the constant knocking on the door by staff. I didn't want to use the 'do not disturb' sign, but then there was knocking for laundry, water refills, and various other reasons. If they need something, they should call. I've never seen staff carrying water bottles around, knocking on every door to ask if guests need water – that's a bit odd. The room had already been cleaned and tidied, so why do they keep doing this?"

"Honestly, their service is truly exceptional. They offer airport pick-up and drop-off, and the pick-up was super fast! I've had so many layovers and usually, airport hotels take at least 20 minutes for a pick-up. But with them, someone contacted me quickly after I called, and within 10 minutes, they were there to get me. The service was also incredibly thoughtful. I was traveling alone with three suitcases, and a sweet young lady helped me carry them all the way to my room. She even told me to call the front desk the next morning for help with my luggage when I left. To be honest, I felt a little embarrassed to trouble them, but when it was time for my departure, the staff was already at my door to help me with my bags. I was genuinely touched! The room was also very clean, comfortable, and quite spacious. I'll definitely stay here again for my next layover."

"Hotel is located in the middle of an attraction and therefore accessibility’s limited. It’s not near any subway station nor the main room, so you need to call the hotel to pick you up when you’re checking in with luggages. Location is good though, it is near all the main attractions and we basically walked to all the attractions (20k stepso a day though). Room is a little small and heater is not consistent. The view that greets us every morning when we are going out is lovely though, since the hotel is located inside a lovely lake. Breakfast is nothing much to shout about."

It also features smart amenities like intelligent toilets and electric curtains. There's plenty of parking available. **Service:** The parking guidance service was very thorough, with staff guiding me from the ground level to the underground parking. The lobby concierge, luggage assistance, room service responsiveness, and breakfast service all met the standard for a business-oriented five-star hotel – not exceptionally outstanding but certainly not disappointing. **Environment and Hygiene:** The hygiene was excellent. Every corner of the room was spotless, with no stains on the carpet or furniture, and no water marks on the bathroom fixtures. The public areas were also very well-maintained; any handrail or seat was clean and tidy. The elevators, corridors, and even corners featured well-designed decorations or furnishings. The fresh flowers in public areas were a nice touch, fitting the hotel's image perfectly. **View:** The west-facing view offers a panorama of Jinan's CBD city skyline, and on a clear day, you can see the entire city. **Minor Drawback:** The gym isn't 24-hour. For a business hotel, this is quite a shame, as I couldn't work out after finishing work in the evening since it was already closed."

Its location is convenient for attractions, easily accessible on foot or by shared bike. The guest rooms show their age but are impeccably clean. The only minor issue was the long wait for the upper-floor elevators due to heavy traffic (two out of four high-rise elevators were undergoing upgrades). Otherwise, the experience was very good. **Dining**: The top-floor revolving restaurant is unique. Breakfast was decent, with some dishes like *jianbing sazi* and *tianmo* offering distinctive Jinan flavors, and the cabbage and tofu having a comforting, homemade taste. Now, about the 'hiccups.' I had booked two separate orders for two days through different platforms, not realizing I had booked different room types. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively upgraded us to a suite for both days to avoid us having to switch rooms midway. Unexpectedly, on the second day, I received a call from the hotel stating that due to an order conflict, we needed to vacate our current room and move to another suite. This was because our room was the hotel's only special room type (with two suites that could be connected), and a new booking for a family trip had come in for it. I was already out at an attraction, which, of course, caused some inconvenience. However, the young man on the phone was extremely apologetic, saying, 'I'm so sorry, this is our fault. We tried to do something good for you, but it backfired...' I assured him I would cooperate. At noon, after returning to the room and packing, when I went to exchange key cards, two front desk staff members (the young man who called and possibly a manager) were already waiting for me. They apologized again in person and explained the situation in detail: they had checked the logs and found that due to a delay in system integration, another order from a different platform had come through after our upgrade and room allocation, causing the conflict. The staff offered to help us pack our luggage, escort us to the new room, and even offered additional gifts, apologizing profusely. Although I didn't need help with packing, what struck me most was their sincere comment during our conversation: 'This situation makes me feel like you're a guest in my home, and I haven't treated my friend well.' That statement touched me, making me feel that this hotel and its entire staff genuinely care for their guests, even during the peak May Day holiday when they were fully booked, they truly wanted to give every guest, everyone visiting Shandong, the best experience. My job involves customer experience management, so I often find myself looking at every service experience with a 'professional bias.' Yet, I am still willing to give a good review this time because the staff at this hotel, especially in handling an unexpected situation, showed no evasion or indifference. Instead, I saw dedication and sincerity, which is the very essence of excellent service. From this perspective, I believe this level of service is on par with what I've experienced at service-renowned hotels like the Four Seasons or the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. I also wish this hotel continued success."

"The location is great, right next to the West Railway Station, which was really convenient for our two-day trip to Jinan by train. We upgraded to a larger room with our child, and it was a good experience. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, probably because it was crowded and we went late, but the freshly fried dough sticks were wonderfully crispy and fragrant."
