"The first established hotel as you enter the mountains, with plenty of parking spaces right across the street, which is very convenient. It's a bit far from the attractions, so you'll need a car. They offer butler-style service; they'll contact you the day before to provide the address, travel tips, and other information. The hotel has a good variety of activities planned, including roasted milk tea, stir-fried melon seeds, and bonfires in the evening. The hotel's dinner was just okay, with plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast on the rooftop had a great ambiance and taste. The rooms aren't luxurious but are perfectly adequate. The air conditioning was a bit old and didn't heat very well. I didn't have time to experience the travel photography session. It was really expensive during Chinese New Year, haha."

"This hotel is a local hotel decoration style very much like it is a simple and environmentally friendly feeling. Since it is a new hotel, the toilet room and public facilities are very new to use. It is more assured, and this hotel has large floor-to-ceiling windows. The view is very good. 9: The decoration style of the restaurant 00 is also great, the buffet and cooked rice noodles inside are delicious"

"I have been to Lancang for the Spring Festival for three consecutive years. I stayed at the Hualong Hotel before, but this time I found it to be a great place. The rooms are very big, the facilities are very new, and the breakfast is very rich! The handsome guy at the front desk provided excellent service, thumbs up! I will stay here again next year. Due to changes in my itinerary, I checked out one day early and the room fee was refunded smoothly! Very good experience!"

"All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby."

"I spent two unforgettable nights at Jingmai Mountain! On International Women's Day, we had a traditional bonfire barbecue. Everyone, from the owner to the guests, was incredibly hospitable. We drank, chatted, and played games until very late – a first for me! The guesthouse had a wonderful atmosphere; the rooms were spacious and quiet. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right season, so we didn't see much of a sea of clouds. If the season is right, you don't even need to go to the octagonal pavilion; you can see it right in the courtyard."

Whether you are a photographer, a tea lover, or simply seeking a serene escape above the clouds, you will find peace and depth of time here.

"Facilities: The rooms were spacious, and I loved the folk-style decor. The toiletries and hairdryer were all from reputable brands. Cleanliness: The rooms, lobby, and dining area were all very clean. Service: This is truly the best guesthouse I've ever stayed in. The receptionist was incredibly attentive, and the guesthouse owner was especially kind. He drove us to and from Manghong so many times. When it rained and we couldn't get back, we called the guesthouse, and he even turned around and came back to pick us up. He also kindly took us to photograph the broccoli trees in the evening. We are so grateful to him! Although it rained these past two days and we didn't see the most beautiful Jingmai Mountain, the guesthouse service made it all worthwhile. I would definitely come back to Jingmai Mountain just for this guesthouse. Environment: I highly recommend everyone sit on the rooftop terrace; it's so comfortable."

The Lancang branch of Baibaile Hotel Group is a comprehensive hotel integrating accommodation, catering, and coffee and tea tasting. The hotel has a total of 45 rooms of different types and is equipped with free facilities such as a gym, a laundry room, a tea room, and a coffee bar. It is an excellent choice for your travel.

"It's quite good. It's the best business hotel I've stayed in recently. The supplies are complete, the meals are rich, and the service is quite good for a business hotel. As a practitioner in the hotel industry for many years, I feel sorry for the boss. There are too many redundant parts. It's difficult to support such complex supplies, meals, and labor costs at this room rate, and it's a franchise hotel. The hotel is good, but from an investment perspective, you still need to consider the ** time issue."

"A wonderful hotel with wonderful people! It's very new and the rooms are beautiful. They always offer tea, give recommendations on where to go and what to see, and can even drive you to and pick you up from anywhere. You can also rent a scooter. Every evening they host barbecues, sing songs, and chat. In terms of rooms and service, there are absolutely no complaints; everything is perfect! They can also pick you up from and drop you off at Xishuangbanna (for a reasonable price). While the owner's niece speaks a little English, everyone is excellent at using translation apps, so there are no communication issues. The view from the hotel is stunning! The only thing I'd wish for is a more diverse breakfast."

"The newly opened guesthouse is right next to a broccoli tree. The floor-to-ceiling windows and viewing platform are particularly beautiful, overlooking the entire village. In the morning, you can see a sea of clouds just by opening the curtains. The owner has his own car, so you can just go out and find him to go to other villages without having to call or wait for a ride. The tea they provide is also very good. Staying in Manghong is a great experience; it's very quiet."

AAstrxdThe environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

GGuest UserThe location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view. It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark. The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable. She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

MMichele GramAmazing stay! The house is located just outside the village on a quiet road. The rooms are super clean, well equipped, and have air conditioning, which is important in winter. But beyond the house itself, the real highlight is the owner. We shared several tea-drinking sessions where he explained the secrets of Pu’er tea and Bulang traditions and history. Despite the language barrier (we don’t speak Chinese and he doesn’t speak English), he made a huge effort using translator apps, and communication was easy and fun. He is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we highly recommend spending time drinking tea with him. He also created a WeChat mini-app with guides and information about the area, which we used a lot and found very helpful. Our stay was unforgettable: the Jingmai mountains were the highlight of our trip to China, and we went home with some amazing Pu’er tea and great memories. Looking forward to coming back!

GGuest UserExceeded all my expectations of a boutique homestay with only six rooms . Ultra luxury linens and beddings , ,Panasonic view of sea clouds at the confer of your bath tub , tasteful contemporary chinese interiors , and to top it all , run by a simple humble couple who goes to ends to make your stay a comfortable one . When you stay for 3 nights or more , they cook up a storm of local delicacies for your dinner , on top of daily breakfast! Do be prepared breakfasts are local style . Bit there’s a great cafe nearby service Arabica yunna beans and it’s become one of my fave ! Def great value for money !

AAdaHuang_This hotel is a comprehensive wellness resort with excellent facilities, including hot spring pools, an infinity pool, and a health clinic. The entire hotel has over 260 rooms, spread across several buildings, offering both standard rooms and villas. The front desk upgraded me to a mountain view room upon check-in, and when I provided feedback at check-out, they also gave me a tea gift. I found interesting folk handicrafts at the gift shop. Service could be improved. The promised welcome fruit was never delivered, and there was no proactive introduction to the hotel's facilities or the various experience packages. When I inquired, most of them were unavailable for booking. The afternoon tea pastries were not impressive. The restaurant had very few non-spicy options, and the selection was too limited. The second-floor platform needs better management. Also, guests in the lobby on the first floor were still being noisy late at night. Overall, it's much better than the established quiet luxury hotels nearby, but there's still room for improvement.

GGuest UserIt's very convenient to get around. It's only about a 10-minute walk to Beigui Cafe to watch the sunrise. The rooftop platform has a great view with a panoramic vista of the beautiful scenery. The owner makes rice noodles every day with broth that she has cooked the day before as the base, which is very delicious.

GGuest UserSuper five-star experience, every place in the inn is very attentive and beautiful. The inn is spacious, the room is large and the facilities are modern. You can make tea in the hot and lively stove, roast sweet potatoes and roast glutinous rice cakes, or you can drink the ancient tree Pu'er and white tea quietly. The B&B is located in the ancient village of Mangyu, Jingmai Mountain, Pu'er. Here you can have a sunrise and sunset one-stop. The innkeeper made a sunrise observation deck and sunset observation deck on his tea mountain. The boss and the proprietress are of high quality, gentle and literate. The people in Jingmai Mountain are warm and peaceful and hospitable. The boss also has his own tea factory, before leaving to choose a few teas, take home the slow product.

GGuest UserA very sweet family! We were immediately invited for tea, and I even tasted their homemade dragon fruit wine. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, well-prepared, and we also found them inexpensive. They're almost always around to help, but clearly have their own activities at the same time—a nice balance. The accommodation feels a bit like a small farm: there are several animals on site. They and the neighbors also have super sweet, affectionate dogs and a cat. They romp and play together all day long and love to come and visit. I absolutely fell in love with the neighbor's puppy. Price-wise, this place is really affordable compared to other accommodations in the area. The room is fine: not huge, but big enough (and you're mostly outside anyway). The bed is firm, which we actually appreciated. The toilet is a squat toilet and has hot water. The shared terrace is a highlight: a beautiful view of the mountains and the valley, and you look out onto the ”sea of clouds”—magical, especially in the morning. We didn't have a car, but we were able to rent a scooter here for 50 yuan a day. It was so much fun and made our stay even better than we could have imagined: the two of us explored the entire area. The bus stops about 1 km away, and for the return trip to Pu'er, they helped us with a shared ride. They're a truly warm family who plan your trip with you and are always willing to help. If we return, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you! P.S. Near the accommodation, there's also a family that sells homemade tea sets made with special clay. Highly recommended!

SSuyanlaowangLocation: Located in Mangjing, the hotel is easily accessible by bus, with stops readily available. Restaurants are within a few hundred meters, making it very convenient. Environment: While the room's decor is simple, its biggest advantage is a large window offering panoramic views of Jingmai Mountain. There's also a huge terrace, which I thoroughly enjoyed, witnessing the sunset and sea of clouds. Service: The staff was very welcoming. Upon arrival, they offered me a cup of herbal tea in the lobby, and always greeted me with a smile. Returning home at night, the brightly lit houses along the dimly lit country roads provided a sense of security. Suggestion: The breakfast selection could be more varied. Facilities: Disposable toilet seat covers were provided, and there was plenty of hot water. Even with the fan on at night, it was still quite cool. Cleanliness: There was a small stain on the toilet seat, and the common area leading to the terrace was somewhat cluttered. With better design and organization, it could be significantly improved. Summary: I initially thought this might be just an average guesthouse, but my stay was excellent. I highly recommend it; it's great value for money.

JJonasWe (2 German travellers) have been in the area of Jingmaishan and wanted to stay a night somewhere. The hotel is about 2 km away from Wengji Ancient Village, that means 30 mins by foot. At first, we wabted to book our hotel directly in the village, but it turns out that booking Diwanara hotel was the best thing that could have happened. The host, who grew up there and is member of the Lahu-Minority is so warm-hearted, he sits in front of his house drinking tea the whole day and we would never leave or come back without being invited to drink some of his homemade tea. He has tea fields 10 mins away from his hotel, and he even took us there to teach us how to collect the tea. Also he cooks breakfast for his guests, which is just delicious. For everybody who, besides the quite commercialised Wengji Village, also wants to have an authentic experience, we can warmly recommend Diwanara hotel.
