"We recently stayed at The Veil as a family. There were many things we loved about the property, but a few utility issues in the room held it back from being a perfect stay. The Positives: Space & Decor: The room itself was excellent. It was very spacious, beautifully decorated, and matched the online descriptions perfectly. Location: The hotel is right on the water, offering a really fantastic setting and lovely views. Kids Center: This was a massive highlight for us! Our daughter absolutely loved it. The babysitter/attendant on duty was wonderful and great with her. Dining: We had dinner at the onsite steakhouse and thoroughly enjoyed our meal—the food and service were great. Areas for Improvement: Room Temperature & AC: The air conditioning in our room did not work well. The staff was kind enough to bring us an extra fan, but the room remained overly hot and uncomfortable in the evenings. Water Temperature Control: This was our biggest challenge as a family. The hot water in the shower was consistently scalding, and there was almost no way to adjust or cool it down. It made showering our toddler very difficult and stressful. Spa Facilities: The sauna and steam room were okay, though only one of the two dry saunas was actually turned on. The whirlpool was quite tepid; while we could smell the chlorine and felt it was clean, we really wished it had been warmer. Spa Services: We wanted to book massages, but the hotel only has one masseuse on staff. Because she was already fully booked, her remaining availability didn't align with our schedule. Having more than one therapist would definitely allow guests more flexibility. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with great amenities for kids, but fixing the AC and the shower temperature controls would make the guest experience much more comfortable."
