"Just checked out of Maladee Rendezvous Hotel Chiang Mai after a 2-day, 1-night stay, and I’m quickly jotting down my thoughts while the memories are still fresh. To sum it up: the service was so good it almost felt a little overwhelming, details fanatics will go wild, but there were a few minor flaws. 🤝 Service is absolutely top-notch From the moment we stepped in, staff members rushed out with smiles to help with our luggage, saying it felt like visiting a friend's house – that's how warm and welcoming they were. During check-in, we sat on a sofa and enjoyed pandan iced tea, and a lovely lady who spoke Chinese gave us a tour of the entire hotel, explaining each facility in great detail. The next day, my mom couldn't figure out the bathroom faucet, and someone from the front desk came up to show her within 3 minutes – excellent attitude. 🛏️ Room is spacious, but the AC is a bit weak The room was indeed very spacious, with a balcony overlooking the pool, which my mom loved. However, my dad said that even with the AC on full blast, it was only slightly cool, and he felt a bit stuffy in the middle of the night, needing to turn on the fan to feel comfortable. Also, the TV was noticeably old, and the picture quality wasn't high-definition. But the mattress and pillows were very comfortable; my mom said she slept soundly through the night. 🍳 Breakfast remains a highlight They raved about the breakfast, which was cooked to order. We ordered mango sticky rice and Thai fish ball noodles, and they were so delicious we wanted to have more. The fruits at the buffet were also very fresh. Plus, there was complimentary afternoon tea, and my mom said the cheesecake was better than many coffee shops outside. 🏊 Pool is beautiful, but not much time to use it The pool area was gorgeous, but they said it was too sunny in the morning, and in the afternoon, they were out sightseeing. In the end, they only dipped into the warm pool briefly. They didn't visit the gym because it was too small, with only a few machines. 📍 Location issue They also mentioned that the hotel isn't close to the city center. Every time they wanted to go to Nimman Road, they had to take a Grab, which cost about 200 baht. However, the hotel offered a free shuttle to the Old City, but it required coordinating schedules. 💬 Conclusion Overall, my mom was satisfied with the service and environment, but the AC and TV were the two hardware aspects that gave her pause. If the hotel were to replace the old TV and improve the AC, she said she would definitely stay again next time. But as it stands, she would advise those with high AC requirements to inquire about the room type beforehand, otherwise, sleeping at night might be a bit uncomfortable. This review was written on behalf of others; these are genuine user opinions, absolutely no paid advertisements 😂."

"Booked the Sere White Double Room, and overall, we had a great stay. The room was spacious, clean, and offered a mountain view—although the view was only partially visible because of the surrounding buildings 😅 The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast in the morning was also really good, with a nice variety of options. The location is another plus, as it’s conveniently close to the Nimman area. Overall, a comfortable stay and a good option if you want to stay near Nimman! Forgot to take pictures of room 🥲"

"Hotel is a little old and dated. Room size is big but modern comfort is missing: no bedside plugs for phone charging. No coffee machines. Taps and showers are old and slightly rusted. Breakfast choice was also limited. And worst was the parking! I am a little handicap and when I parked at the handicap lot, the hotel said I need to move my car as there was limited space for buses and vans to pass. Then why have a handicap lot there? And though it is by the side of the Ping River, there is really nothing much to see or do by the river! For the price of THB9000 a night, it was certainly not worth the money!"

"The hotel's location is excellent, right in the Nimman area. There are many restaurants, cafes, and a 7-Eleven just a 3-minute walk away. The room is beautiful and spacious, with a full-length mirror which I really liked. A special shout-out to how comfortable the mattress and pillows were! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The only significant drawback was the poor drainage in the shower area. Basically, as soon as I started washing my hair and showering, the water would flood out. Luckily, the room I booked had a bathtub, so I could shower in there. I hope the hotel can address this, and then it would be a perfect stay."

"The room was incredibly lovely with very high ceilings, giving it a spacious feel. Despite being in a tranquil location where you could hear birds chirping and temple wind chimes, there were plenty of shops nearby, making it a great spot for exploring the old town on foot. While the staff weren't overly cheerful, they were helpful, carrying our luggage and showing concern when arranging taxis for us. Above all, the room was fantastic, and enjoying coffee on the quiet morning terrace was simply the best. The pool was small, but we mostly had it to ourselves, and it was fun swimming with the kickboards they provided."

"The hotel's location is excellent, situated in a lively area. It's about a five-minute walk to the Chang Khlan Night Bazaar, with a Big C supermarket behind it, and two 7-Eleven stores nearby. There are also several popular 'influencer' restaurants and cafes. Joost Smoothie is just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel service is good, and the breakfast quality is impressive – not just a wide variety, but a focus on quality, with smoked salmon, cold cuts, and hot dishes all available. The pool is also very comfortable, making it a great choice in Chiang Mai. However, the bedding is too soft and thick, which is a problem. It gets too hot when sleeping, and the mattress is too soft; I hope they can improve this."

Overall, the property has a pleasant concept, and the surrounding greenery creates a very nice jungle‑resort, exotic atmosphere. The natural environment is well‑designed and enjoyable but my 2 nights stay came with several issues that future guests may want to be aware of. Considering the price, there are much better options in the area that offer a more comfortable experience and better facilities. 1. Privacy & Layout The architectural layout offers very limited privacy. From the balcony, neighboring rooms are directly visible, which made it difficult to use the outdoor space comfortably. 2. Cleanliness & Hygiene Some areas of the room were not thoroughly cleaned. The built‑in storage under the bed had visible dust and dirt, making it unsuitable for storing clean clothes. In the shower area, the pebble‑style floor creates many hard‑to‑clean corners. Before I even used the shower, I noticed hair and even ***** hair trapped between the stones. During showering, water drained extremely slowly, causing the floor to flood and submerge above my feet under standing water. This design makes the area prone to bacteria buildup and was uncomfortable to use, especially for female guests during sensitive times. 3. Bathroom Fixtures The handheld bidet spray had extremely strong pressure and ice‑cold water, which made it uncomfortable to use—especially for women during sensitive days. 4. Safety & Property Layout The property’s terrain is quite complex, with multiple staircases and uneven levels. At night, many areas are poorly lit, which can be unsafe if guests are not watching their step. Some decorative reflective pieces hanging from trees also create a rather unsettling atmosphere after dark. The corridor near my room remained unlit at night, making the area feel dim and uncomfortable. Additionally, during rainy weather, several outdoor areas accumulated water, making certain paths slippery and less safe to walk through. 5. Room FacilitiesvThe room does not have a wardrobe or proper clothing hangers. The only hanging option is a decorative tree‑branch style rack, which is suitable for small items but not for clothing. As a result, clothes can only be placed on the balcony, where humidity and rain make it difficult to keep them dry.vThere is also no bedside lamp or reading light, which makes the room not work‑friendly.vAdditionally, there is no luggage rack or storage space, so suitcases must be kept on the floor throughout the stay. 6. Condition of FacilitiesvMany parts of the property appear worn down and in need of maintenance. In the dining area, several corners and edges show visible deterioration, and I noticed areas with water leakage. Overall, the facilities feel quite aged and could benefit from repairs and updates. 7. Service & CommunicationvThere is no phone in the room, and front desk service ends around 10 PM. Even after I added the property’s contact information, my door was still knocked on at night despite having a “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed. Complimentary water was provided, but only when requested; it was not proactively replenished. 8. Deposit & BreakfastvThe property requires a cash deposit upon arrival, which feels unusual considering the age and condition of the facilities. Breakfast was provided, but the quality was noticeably lower compared to other homestays in the area. 9. Additional Safety ConcernsvI found a sharp, hard plastic piece in a dish I ordered. I pulled it out from my mouth, and I almost swallowed it. The meal was remade, but the original dish was not waived.vThe bathroom door lock also malfunctioned once. There were also quite a few jumping spiders in the room due to the environment, likely because regular insect control is not performed. I requested insect spray from the front desk, and they did respond quickly and helped resolve it.

I can't deny the service was great, and it was pretty good value for money. They even gave us a voucher for the convenience store next door. However, the room was only superficially renovated; it was actually quite old, and the facilities were also dated. You can't tell from the pictures, but it's genuinely old, just for your reference. On the plus side, there's a small pool inside, and it's right next to the night market, which is really convenient.

I really enjoyed my stay at Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort - A Vegan Retreat. The biggest highlight is its excellent location, very close to Tha Phae Gate and other major attractions. It's super convenient for exploring the Old City and the walking street market. Getting around is easy; Grab rides are affordable. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes around the hotel. The hotel's atmosphere is quiet, private, and feels very safe. Although the entrance is a bit deep into an alley, it actually contributes to a restful stay, free from outside disturbances. The hotel itself is clean, lush, and has green spaces that make for a relaxing experience throughout your visit. Overall, it's a place in Chiang Mai I'd love to return to. It's perfect for those who want to explore the Old City and also for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.

A beautiful serendipitous spot to relax. Staff are all friendly and have high service mindset. I asked for Khao Soi which is not on menu and they did it for me. Surprisingly the dish was so delicious, one of good Khao Soi bowls I had. All details in the hotel are so well-curated. A location is good, nearby Wat U-mong which is nice to visit by walking. Not too far to go to center of a city. Lovely experience staying there.

The facilities at the Holiday Garden Hotel Resort are absolutely Fabulous. Stunning architecture make for a premium experience during my stay. What’s best is the garden poolside deck. The atmosphere is open and fresh. I enjoy sitting by the pool after having breakfast. It’s elegant. The room is comfortable. It’s very clean which is reassuring, since the staff are caring for their guests. I would recommend this garden resort to international travelers who prefer green spaces and elegant design. The breakfast buffet has fresh fruits and coconut-rice pancakes. It’s all so tasty. There is also the Lush café in the garden. The strawberry soda is my favorite. 😍 🍓 I would stay again. Chiang Mai is a lovely city.
