The towels and bath sheets were new and clean, but they shed a lot of fine lint; it felt like I'd inhale the fibers when using them, which was quite unpleasant. Furthermore, regarding the carpet, I personally feel it should be minimized. In humid and hot conditions, carpets can harbor bacteria that simple vacuuming can't resolve effectively. Overall, it's an acceptable stay. Given that it was a busy holiday period, I think it's crucial to consider increasing the cleaning staff. The hotel hasn't undergone extensive renovation in about ten years, so regular maintenance is very important. It's perfectly fine for it to show its age, but it shouldn't look neglected or dirty.
