"I had an excellent stay at this hotel! The rooms were large and spotlessly clean, the staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and the location was ideal for city exploration. The amenities, such as the pool and fitness center, were outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and comfortable stay, Ms Inga and Madam Agneta are the best receptionists that I have ever seen in life, thank you!"

"This huge (444 beds) former ”Moevenpick” Hotel in the outskirts of Riga can be a good value (see below) but shows its age (potentially from 1990 not much rennovated. The parking space is offered as ”free” but capacity is limited and you might park on public areas (as long as this is free to all, hotel will keep their parking ”free” - I suppose soon private parking management will start (charge impertinent 5€/h or so) and hotel will offer ”bargain” 25€ for the night as in Centrs. The rooms are quite good in size and equipment (single room AC in summer is a plus!!) but oldfashioned and worn - so I'd say acceptabel for sleeping only. Customer are mainly travel groups from Germany, Poland and other Baltic states. In summer it's nice that you can have breakfast (15€ extra - check the rates incl. - actually no access control) on the terrace, quality and selection is good. Sauna 15€/person for 2 hours.... Remember that the area is remote, to visit Centrs or oldtown you NEED to use tram or Bolt. Though restaurants are in walking distance (google wil find) This place a has value with rates for double incl. breakfast for 50-60€ (single 45-50€) on alotment base - I'd be very much disappointed to pay 100€++ for such a old worn ”booth” - max 3* more 2*"

"After repeated request, the front desk guy even said he would but didn’t pass my request to prepare for packages to take breakfast away for my early bus and I ended up delaying the departure by 1h30 for a later bus! This is horrible services. And as I extended this stay, the room ended up without being able to cleaned as there’s no sign for it. So nobody cleaned the room for 3 nights of stay. Spa costs 20€ minimum. No free swimming! Besides that, facilities are good and breakfast is good."

"It's good, in a better location in the old town, it's more convenient to go to the surrounding attractions. The front desk service was very good. I didn't bring a charger and lent me a charger. It was very good. I liked it here."

"The hotel was elegant and the location was good, but the room we stayed in did not have a safe, so we left our valuables at the front desk. It was our fault for not getting a safe deposit box, but the young man at the front desk did not hand it over to us, so the staff could not find it even after searching, and we almost missed our flight. We told them that the phone was broken and that the bathrobe was missing, and they promised to deliver it later, but they never showed up... We gave up, thinking that it was a bad room."

"The location in the middle of the old town was very good and offered excellent connections to the sights. The breakfast was also very tasty and offered a good selection. Unfortunately, the staff were rather unfriendly, which spoiled the stay somewhat. In addition, it was not possible to rent beach towels and there were additional costs for the wellness area that were not included in the price. Overall, it was a pleasant stay."

"I usually don't bother writing reviews, but this place had quite a few things to complain about. **Location:** It's a bit of a distance from the old town, about a 15-minute walk. However, it's conveniently located right next to a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining very easy. **First, the positives:** The room was quite spacious, just as shown in the pictures. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Slippers and toothbrushes were available (though you had to ask the front desk for them). **Now for the downsides:** **Service:** The female front desk staff's English was very poor, making communication a real challenge. The male front desk staff (who also seemed to be working as a bartender) had an unpleasant attitude. **Facilities:** The pillows were absolutely dreadful! The filling felt like lumpy, hard cotton, making it completely impossible to sleep! **Booking & Room Setup:** When I made the booking, I clearly specified 3 adults + 1 child (9 years old). After checking in and getting to our room, we found that the sofa bed hadn't been made up, but instead, they had provided a baby crib. When we contacted the front desk, their response was that ”their booking information indicated there was a small baby in the group.” Even so, is it reasonable to expect three adults to sleep in one bed? They eventually made up the sofa bed, but only provided a single duvet. When we asked the front desk for another duvet or to swap it for a double one, we were told that housekeeping had already left (it was 6 PM at the time), and they had no idea where the blankets were... **Late Checkout:** When I inquired about a late checkout, the front desk staff pretended to check the booking, typing away on the keyboard, only to then say, ”Sorry, we're fully booked.” However, I quickly checked online myself and saw that the same room type was clearly available on Ctrip... In my opinion, a direct 'no' would have been far better than such a disingenuous charade! **Conclusion:** Based on all of this, I won't be choosing this Mercure hotel again for my next visit."

"Magnificent Elegant hotel. The location is perfect to be able to tour the center of Riga by taking a walk. The reception is friendly and professional. Breakfast is highly recommended. Very comfortable rooms. A wonderful option to stay in Riga"

"Beautifully restored heritage building in the center of old Riga. The classic feature of the original architecture have been preserved and complimented with a modern interior design with clean Nordic style. Rooms have a foldout sofa bed, great for families. Breakfast is simple but high quality ingredients and attentive staff. Recommend the fresh croissants and salmon and raspberry smoothies. Location in center of old town on a charming street just close enough to great restaurants and bars but quiet enough to get a good sleep."
