"Really love the hotel, super clean and strategically located in the heart of Old Town Riga! We can just simply walk around the old town at night, near to shopping mall and the hotel also provide paid parking space. Nice Breakfast as well. Would love to go there again someday."

"Underwhelming. The general hotel is nice but the rooms are quite modest and the housekeeping service was spotty — no soap in the shower, missed service one day of two. Located across from a nice park but not near the old town. From desk staff were the highlight though — very nice and friendly."

"The hotel's location is very central, the reception staff is friendly and polite. Breakfast is adequate and varied. The rooms are clean, there is a kettle, and the bed is comfortable. If I come back, I will stay at the same hotel again. You can leave your luggage free of charge after checking out and explore."

"I usually don't bother writing reviews, but this place had quite a few things to complain about. **Location:** It's a bit of a distance from the old town, about a 15-minute walk. However, it's conveniently located right next to a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining very easy. **First, the positives:** The room was quite spacious, just as shown in the pictures. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Slippers and toothbrushes were available (though you had to ask the front desk for them). **Now for the downsides:** **Service:** The female front desk staff's English was very poor, making communication a real challenge. The male front desk staff (who also seemed to be working as a bartender) had an unpleasant attitude. **Facilities:** The pillows were absolutely dreadful! The filling felt like lumpy, hard cotton, making it completely impossible to sleep! **Booking & Room Setup:** When I made the booking, I clearly specified 3 adults + 1 child (9 years old). After checking in and getting to our room, we found that the sofa bed hadn't been made up, but instead, they had provided a baby crib. When we contacted the front desk, their response was that ”their booking information indicated there was a small baby in the group.” Even so, is it reasonable to expect three adults to sleep in one bed? They eventually made up the sofa bed, but only provided a single duvet. When we asked the front desk for another duvet or to swap it for a double one, we were told that housekeeping had already left (it was 6 PM at the time), and they had no idea where the blankets were... **Late Checkout:** When I inquired about a late checkout, the front desk staff pretended to check the booking, typing away on the keyboard, only to then say, ”Sorry, we're fully booked.” However, I quickly checked online myself and saw that the same room type was clearly available on Ctrip... In my opinion, a direct 'no' would have been far better than such a disingenuous charade! **Conclusion:** Based on all of this, I won't be choosing this Mercure hotel again for my next visit."

"Hotel staff was very welcoming at check in and provided a map of Old Riga and made suggestions for things to see and do. The room itself is clean and includes all necessary amenities. If you plan to do laundry, there’s a 4.50 euro charge to enter the laundry room and then you can use it as much as you want. Bring your own detergent! Great location In the heart of Old Riga by the House of Blackheads. Walking distance within a lot of attractions , especially the Christmas market if you’re visiting in the winter time. It’s also around the corner from the famous Ala Pagrabs. It’s been full every time I went so I had to settle for a seat at the bar which is not very comfortable! Eating out can become expensive so I appreciated being near Rimi Express to buy drinks and snacks that I could put in the mini fridge."

"The hotel is well located on the edge of the old town, a few minutes walk from the all old town attractions, excursion pick up points and tourist office. Excellent check in, well appointed room overlooking the river. A higher room would have been preferable, but room facilities excellent. Although accommodation is very reasonably priced, we found the €20 pp charge for use of the spa facilities a little out of kilter. Disappointed and surprised - especially at this time year - that we were not allowed a late checked even at the cost of €15 per hour after 1pm."

"Hotel is very conveniently located, next to the mall and central station, minutes walk to the bus station, central market and old town. Check in was perfect and helpful with city map provided. Kettle, cups, sachet tea and coffee are provided, shampoo, hand soap, tissue paper, shower cap were provided in the bathroom. Would be good if they provided body lotion and hair conditioner. Sadly, the power plugs at the desk does not fit a travel adaptor and there are no usb ports. The single bed was right next to the curtain and a mirror is right in front of the bed, very weird room design. There’s a safe deposit box in the room. Do remember to bring your own slippers as no room slippers are provided."

"The beautiful hotel is in the heart of the city, in a distance from the station and from the bus station. The hotel has everything, a refrigerator, a stove, very convenient if you come for a few days with your family. The only thing that cleaning apartments happens once a week is , it is little, but if you ask the staff, they are very responsive and will solve all the questions . I stop not the first time and very satisfied. Every time there are some innovations- recently opened spa and good prices for procedures, and if you want you can order breakfast with delivery of €12 good enough breakfast. I recommend"

"I found this hotel with the better price than other agencies and it was not disappointing me at all. The room was clean with full amenities I needed. Staffs were friendly, and breakfast was very good with high quality food. The location was great. The hotel looked luxury. Overall, it worth money than expected."
