"LOCATION Excellent location. In the immediate vicinity of the central train station. A 15-minute walk from Sule, with all its bus lines. A good starting point for exploring the city on foot. Shopping centers are in the immediate vicinity. A 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. SERVICE Excellent welcome and service. Excellent attention at every moment, whether from the housekeeping staff, restaurant staff, concierge, or the gym/spa/pool staff. PS: Please note the $200 USD security deposit required for some reservations. This should be anticipated, although it is payable by credit card (check if this option is worth according to your bank's terms and conditions applied for transaction in Myanmar). ENVIRONMENT Quiet and safe neighborhood. Elegant and comfortable hotel. Harmonious and high-quality layout. Impeccable maintenance. ROOM Superior King Bed Room: Perfect for one person, with a desk area and a small sitting area. Bright. Well laid out. Comfortable. Very good quality bedding. Clean, high-quality linens. Spacious and clean bathroom. Hot water with good pressure. Very good Wi-Fi. Conveniently placed electrical outlets. Excellent lighting. Luggage storage available (for one bag). Pleasant city view. Central air conditioning system. It worked perfectly, but I didn't find the adjustments very user-friendly. BREAKFAST Large dining room. Well-spaced buffet area, open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Elegant dining room. I preferred the back of the room for its quietness, privacy, and comfort. Attentive and courteous staff. A well-stocked and varied buffet. Yet, there was a noticeable difference in quality between the buffet, the kitchen staff, and the buffet presentation between weekdays and weekends. Some of the glass-fronted areas in the dining room were not clean at all: cobwebs, long-standing dust, and general grime. This needs improvement, as it's not what you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. The buffet occupied most of my mornings; however, I'm not sure I would have wanted to pay an additional $20 USD for it if it wasn't already included in the reservation. FACILITIES *The hotel has all the facilities one would expect for a hotel of this standard. In conclusion, I benefited from a very good price offer through Trip.com, which accurately reflected the hotel's value for money. I was truly delighted with my stay and will keep the PARKROYAL on my list of favorites for a future trip."

"Among the many counter staff, the one I met upon arrival was very helpful. I received breakfast, a Myanmar translation app, and answers to my tour questions. The room view was also excellent. The breakfast buffet was excellent. This hotel offers excellent value. While the surroundings were a bit disappointing, I was very satisfied with the hotel itself. Incidentally, there's a nearby pier, which opens around 4 PM. You can enjoy local food, seagull feeding, and baby gull releases at a reasonable price."

"The Thanlwin meets all expectations. The staff is excellent and caters to every need. There's a Chinese restaurant (very good!), a Western restaurant (very good!), a rooftop pool, and a spa/massage area (very good but a bit pricey!). The prices are reasonable for the hotel's standard, though naturally a bit higher than other hotels. However, the quality is excellent. The food was exemplary, and the massages were extremely good, even if you could get them for half the price in Thailand. The cleanliness of the rooms is exemplary. The room amenities and size can only be described as sensational. I had a bathroom with a corner window and could see the pagoda from one of the top floors. Wonderful. The air conditioning is excellent, and the water pressure in the bathroom is perfect."

"During check-in, there seemed to be a problem with the key card, which caused the check-in process to take a long time. After checking in, everything seemed normal, but eventually the key card didn't work. I don't understand why the staff didn't inform guests about the system malfunction. I couldn't access my room and had to go back to inform the staff, which meant they had to escort me to my room. The staff should have informed me from the beginning."

"This was another stay for me. The cheapest rooms are so dark, day and night, that it hinders work, so this time I booked the next room category up, which was about 1000 yen more expensive. The room was spacious and bright, though still a little dim at night. It might be a structural issue, simply not enough lights. But upgrading was definitely the right choice. The soundproofing in the room is a bit weak; I could hear sounds from the next room, but since the room was large, it didn't bother me too much. The nearby supermarket was also convenient. The breakfast, while limited in variety, was decent. The staff are great too. Room cleaning is thorough and not skimped on. However, the room being dark and the carpet being worn out and dirty (frayed) even though it's cleaned might be a concern for some."

"Conveniently located near the airport, this is one of Myanmar's most luxurious hotels, situated right by the lake, which is lovely. The breakfast spread is generous, and the 'shaomai' (dumplings) are particularly delicious. They often host various events, and the lakeside bar has a great atmosphere."

"The staff were very accommodating and nice. When I arrived, the room was not ready yet so they upgraded my room from deluxe to premium. It was very spacious and clean. The only cons is that, considering the couple of stairs to climb up, nobody is at the front door to welcome and help the incoming guests. So, I had to carry all of my luggage up to the front desk. But overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely stay there again, especially if they will offer free room upgrades again."

"TThe male and female staff were very polite and always greeted guests. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast every day. The room was clean, the bed was very large and comfortable. It was very convenient to walk to Shwedagon Pagoda, and I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the local market in the mornings and evenings in front of the hotel."
