Guest UserWe had a great stay! The hotel offers excellent service, and the valet parking was very convenient. The location is perfect, with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was spotless, and the shower had strong water pressure with hot water that came on quickly. Highly recommend!
The only minor issue was the TV. It didn’t offer many entertainment options, and it wasn’t possible to watch YouTube or Netflix.

LynnlinJI used the spa at this location and will absolutely be going back as often as I can afford to!
Sheila was friendly, professional, and kind and the rest of the staff were just as amazing.
It honestly felt like entering into another world from the busy and. dirty streets of DTLA.

XiaopulangyuxuanjiThis review is over two months late – it's been a hectic time, but I finally have a moment to write it properly. It was my first solo trip abroad, and I expected to feel lost at the hotel, but I was incredibly lucky to meet Summer! Hearing Mandarin and Cantonese in a foreign country was so comforting. I spent a long time choosing on Ctrip and finally settled on this hotel. Upon arrival, I found the facilities to be very new. I was lucky enough to get a complimentary room upgrade to a fantastic room type. I could see Hollywood without even leaving the room, and there were two large balconies.
The next day, I wasn't feeling well and craved Cantonese food. I walked five minutes to a large shopping mall – I've forgotten its name – which had Din Tai Fung and Haidilao. Din Tai Fung was super popular, so I ended up ordering takeout. Eating those wontons back in the room was pure bliss. The executive lounge breakfast at the hotel was also delicious, though the variety wasn't extensive. I ate the most salmon! The room was clean, but on the second day, I noticed the used comb box hadn't been replaced with a new one. Later that night, as I was getting ready for bed, I found a stain on the bed. A few tens of minutes later, a housekeeping attendant came to change the sheets for me 🙏. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, and there was plenty of drinking water.
Finally, a huge thank you to Summer! Due to my age and credit card issues (this is common at US hotels, so definitely something to watch out for), she went above and beyond to help me, patiently answering all my questions and solving many urgent problems. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to stay at the hotel! When I left, she was also very thoughtful and helped me communicate with the Uber driver. It's a shame I couldn't find her phone number, but a special thank you! All in all, I highly recommend this place! Beverly Hills has beautiful scenery. Even now, back in China at school, I still think about this unforgettable experience. California is truly a place worth visiting! I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

I feel a little bad leaving this review. I normally only book at places that are rated by guests as 4+ stars.
The good:
- the service desk people were lovely, prompt, and very helpful.
- the daily breakfast was good - you get to make your own waffles! And the peach yoghurt! There are 3 kinds of cereals, 2 bread, bagel, muffin, fruit; there are scrambled (ish) eggs daily and either sausages or hash or bacon as the other hot option. Tea, coffee, apple and orange juice.
- the bed itself was pretty comfy
The bad:
- the pillows were lumpy. I have never felt such lumpy pillows in my life.
- the room smelled - I am unsure what of, but it was acrid/musty/ something - reminded me a bit of carpet cleaning solution maybe??
- the air conditioning turns itself auto on/off, there is no continuous air option (or maybe the button is broken?) - this meant I was oscillating between too hot and cool enough when I was sleeping, woke up sweating a few times
The unsure:
- didn't try the pool.

Advantages:
1. Relatively convenient as it's not too far from Universal Studios by car.
2. Free parking is available at the hotel entrance until 9 AM if you arrive late at night, and across the street until 10 AM.
Disadvantages:
1. Poor sound insulation; you can clearly hear people walking upstairs.
2. Parking inside the hotel is paid; it costs approximately $20-30 USD for a small car.

Great location and food options nearby, but security needs improvement
The location was one of the highlights of our stay. The hotel is close to Chinatown and surrounded by many Chinese restaurants, bubble tea shops, and Asian food options. There were plenty of dining choices within walking distance, including a Sichuan-style fish restaurant, which made meals very convenient.
The room itself was comfortable, and the staff we interacted with were friendly. However, we noticed a security issue that should be addressed.
Anyone can take the elevator to the second floor, where the guest rooms are located. Access to the guest room corridor is supposed to require a key card, but during our stay the access door was not functioning properly. Even without using a key card, the door could simply be pushed open, making the access control system ineffective. This meant that anyone who reached the second floor could potentially enter the guest room area. While nothing happened during our stay, it did make us feel less secure than expected.
We also noticed small red marks on one of the towels provided in the room. We could not determine whether it was a stain, discoloration, or something else, but it was noticeable enough that we chose not to use that towel.
Overall, the location and nearby food options were excellent, but the security concern was disappointing and should be addressed as a priority. Security is an important factor when choosing accommodation, and I hope the hotel will inspect and repair the access door promptly.

The location is very good, on West Hollywood Avenue. The only thing is that the lower floors are facing the street and it is a bit noisy. I originally lived on the 2nd floor. It was Friday and Saturday. There was a party downstairs and it was very noisy. Later, I helped move to a higher floor. The restaurant food was very fresh and delicious. The overall experience was good.

The location is good if you’re traveling with a car, and parking is convenient and easy to access. Self‑parking costs USD 50 per day. Some may find the parking fee expensive, but for stays of up to a month, it offers good value as the monthly parking rate is USD 300.
Room cleanliness was acceptable, though the mattress was quite soft. Overall, I would say the hotel offers good value for money. It’s especially suitable for family travel, as the room is equipped with a washer and dryer, which is very convenient for longer stays.
