Enjoy all Sunday River has to offer with this beautiful ski in/out, first floor condo. The condo is located on mountain between Barker and White Cap Lodges. You can ski in/out using Roadrunner trail, which is right across the parking lot. There is plenty of parking and the condo is located in Building 2, which is closest to the common lodge area with a fireplace, poll, hot tub and sauna access. This cozy retreat features 2 full beds and 1 bunk bed, perfect for a small family or group of guests. This is a two floor condo with the bedroom on the first floor and the living room, kitchen, and bathroom on the second floor. The couch does not have a pull out couch, but could easily sleep an additional person as it is a large sectional with a chaise lounge. The condo is fully furnished with sheets, towels, bedding and games. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave and Keurig coffee maker - no dishwasher. There are two decks, one off the living room on the second floor, and one off the bedroom on the first floor. We note that this condo is not suitable for small children due to the fact that the living room is raised from the kitchen with a landing and 2 steps, and the bedrooms are downstairs (you can see this in the photos). You're welcome to bring your small children to stay at the condo, but we want you to be aware of the safety hazard this may pose for them. You'll have access to a bedroom with a KING bed and comfy sheets along with a dedicated workspace which consists of a desk, lamp and easy access plugs for your electronic devices.The main living space consists of a couch that can be converted into a QUEEN size bed at night with all the sheets hidden in the chaise area along with a fireplace and 65" Smart TV (which has access to Netflix and NO cable). This space also has a dining table to easily accomodate our 4 guests. **NEW** Blinds have been added to the lower living room windows for better privacy at night.Moving on to the kitchen we've tried to design it to feel open while also containing all of the necessities for cooking a nice meal. As frequent travelers who love to cook the local cuisine when staying at Airbnb, we've tried to include just about everything you should need to make a nice meal. There are a few cookbook supplied on Maine and Foraging based cooking along with a fondue pot for you to enjoy with your friends and family.The bathroom is one of my favorite parts! There is a double vanity with two large mirrors for you and someone else to get ready very comfortably. There is a separate door from the shower/toilet and the vanity area which means you can get ready while someone else uses the shower/toilet. The shower is 30x30 with a nice rainfall style shower head which makes showering even more enjoyable.We've also provided some board games and cards to help you spend some quality time with your family and friends during your trip in addition to 2 yoga mats that can provide you an opportunity to soak up all the sunlight that pours into the room and take some time to relax.Now some things we absolutely love (and think you will too) about this home's location:- Approximately just one minute by car to Bethel Village means quick and easy access to all of the best restaurants, a small grocery store, and the farmers market on Saturdays from 9AM-1PM whenever you need to pick something up or grab a bite to eat. You can easily walk to all of these things as well in just 5-10 minutes.- We are located DIRECTLY on the the Bethel SNOWMOBILE trail with AMPLE parking for your snowmobile trailer which means conveniently hoping on the trails for the day and then coming back to relax and enjoy the night.- If you didn't think location could get any better, we are just 8 minutes to SUNDAY RIVER and 10 minutes to MOUNT ABRAM. Rumor has it you may even be able to flag down the local Mountain Explorer which is a free shuttle from Bethel Village to Sunday River to take you to the mountain and back (we haven't tried this ourselves, but if you're up for testing it you are more than welcome to!)- Some nights if you go in the backyard during the winter you can see Mount Abram from it's lights which is a really exciting thing to see when you are located in the heart of the city.- We are located directly off of Route 2 which means you'll be the first the get to Sunday River on a POW day since it's usually one of the first roads to get plowed. This also means that you can get to a lot of your desired destinations faster without having to maneuver some of the winding mountain roads to get to a highway. PLEASE NOTE: this also means there is a potential for traffic noise, although minimal, and you should be aware your not staying in some countryside ultra quiet place. :)- We are also located directly across from Dollar General (one of the places open latest in town) means taking no less than 30 seconds to run out and grab something at the last minute. CVS is located directly next door as well which makes quick and easy access in about a minute without having to get in the car.- We are also about 18 minutes to Grafton Notch State Park and 30 minutes to the White Mountain National forest if you are looking to visit those destinations.Guest accessYou'll have access to one half of a duplex. The duplex is L shaped so there is only one wall that is shared between the two houses and that is heavily insulated to help limit any noise disturbances. You have complete access to the "back" house which consists of an open living room/kitchen/dining room along with a bathroom and a bedroom.Outside, we have a firepit that accommodates up to 8 guests, but please note it is first come first serve and we have two units on property which means it could be unavailable to use during your stay, or you may need to enjoy the fireplace with other guests.Other things to noteOther things you may want to know are listed below:- There is stairs up to the front door of the unit (approximately two steps) along with a step into the bathroom and small 4 step staircase into the bedroom.- We are located directly off of Route 2. While this makes it incredibly convenient to get to all the major attractions nearby (i.e. being located off the first road to get cleared on POW days to Sunday River is an incredibly beneficial thing!), it also also means there is some potential for traffic noise. The house is located towards the back so the road noise during the day is daily muted and at night it's virtually unnoticeable (especially considering there is minimal traffic at night) but this is something we just want to mention.-There is a train that passes through town that you may occasionally hear toot it's horn at night.- We are located adjacent to a local gas station though there is a house separating us, but this is just something we'd like you to know prior to booking.- In the winter we can not guarantee with 100% certainty that the driveway will be plowed first thing in the morning or after a storm. We will leave a snow shovel out for you to use in case you need to get out earlier than our plower can get in. Approximately 1 mile from Sunday River Ski Resort's access road, you'll find a recently built "ski chalet" on 3 acres of gorgeous land along the Androscoggin River. The home boasts radiant floor heat, 3 bedrooms, 4 single beds (bunk style), 2 queen beds, and 1 pull out fouton, and your very own 6 person hot tub just a step off the deck overlooking Mount Will. Two full baths with a custom tiled shower and granite counter tops throughout gives this property a feeling a elegance. Over sized mudroom gives you plenty of room for coats, skis, and boots and includes a washer and dryer. The area is activity packed with hiking, fishing, and UTV/Fourwheeler adventures for the summer, and skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling for the winter. Grab your family and friends and enjoy the beautiful mountains! How to get to the river: On the backside of the property, on the right, there’s a trail that goes straight back to the river. Take a left and walk down the hill and through the tall growth for five minutes. Just before the bridge on your right you’ll see a tree marked with red; our property borders this shared conservation area of 25 acres and affords the best access to the water. We have not had any complaints regarding the temperature of the home. 3) Is the river accessible and can I swim there? Yes, most of the time but access is discretionary. The property borders the Androscoggin River and has a long trail along it affording beautiful views & great hiking, but much of this area is an embankment with a 10'-20' drop down to the river. If you steer left while approaching the river, you will find better river access but it's not for everyone. I would not recommend it for young children or dogs, although I've seen many use it so. Please bring a lifejacket if you or your children plan to swim and remember that access differs greatly from the ease you'd find at a lake house. That said, the seclusion is absolutely incredible. Hope this helps to best explain!Directions to river access: Follow the trail to the river from the back right hand corner of our yard. When you arrive at the river, turn left and follow the foot path down the hill and through the brush for 3-5 minutes. Before you arrive at the wooden bridge, you will see a red marker on at tree at the riverside. Difficulty decending this embankment will depend on the time of season & rainfall. Early spring the river will be extremely cold, high, and fast moving. As the season progress, it usually warms up, lowers, and slows. A sandbar is usually accessible just downstream of the large boulder in the riverbed. Enjoy but PLEASE BE CAREFUL. The current can be overwhelming and debri in the river can be very dangerous in particular for kids or pets. Lifejackets recommended but not supplied. Also note that a short drive to Bethel's skatepark affords better water access upriver where Davis Park meets the Bethel Pathway and there are guided tours of the river and tubing offered by Bethel Outdoor Adventures which just a few miles away upstream.4) How is the fishing?Anglers report fantastic fishing right off the doorstep! Fish Species found in the Androscoggin Brook, Brown and Rainbow trout, landlocked salmon, and a substantial population of smallmouth bass. Trout fishing peaks in spring and fall, but summer is prime time for big river smallies. For best access point, please see previous question. 5) Is there a TV in the master bedroom?Currently there is a smart flatscreen TV with Wireless capability but no cable.6) Do you have chairs for around the fire pit, and is there a horse shoe pit?There is seating near & around the fire pit. We supplied a large picnic table, 4 Adirondack chairs, and a deck that sits right in front next to the fire pit. There are 3-4 additional foldout chairs in washing machine closet.
