"Place is located at the Main Street. Staffs are so friendly and fast in their service. Room is clean and the amenities are pretty complete (especially as family of four, the mini fridge, plates, spoons, knife, cups, microwave, are very helpful). The only unpleasant thing is we can hear our neighbors talking and they are pretty loud, but not during the night."

"I am writing to formally express my very serious dissatisfaction regarding the condition of my room and the overall standard of service during my stay. To be completely honest, the situation is far below what any reasonable guest would expect from a hotel of this category and price level. There is clearly long-term dust accumulation on the exhaust fan and in multiple corners of the room. This is not a matter of minor housekeeping oversight for a day or two it reflects a prolonged lack of proper maintenance and cleaning standards. Such conditions are unacceptable for a property that presents itself as a luxury establishment. Even more concerning is the foul, rotten odor coming from the sink water. Every time I brush my teeth or wash my hands, the unpleasant smell is immediately noticeable and deeply disturbing. This raises not only comfort issues, but also serious concerns about hygiene and water safety. At this level of accommodation, guests should never have to question the basic quality of the water provided in their room. I strongly believe this matter requires immediate professional inspection. I chose to stay at your hotel and willingly paid a premium rate because I expected a premium experience including cleanliness, attention to detail, and reliable service. Unfortunately, what I have encountered so far reflects a significant gap between the price charged and the quality delivered. In addition, despite leaving a tip for housekeeping and placing a written note clearly requesting replenishment, my shampoo was not refilled. I was eventually forced to go into the corridor to find another staff member for assistance. Cotton swabs were also not replenished for three consecutive days. These are very basic service expectations that should not require repeated reminders from guests. Taken together, these issues have had a substantial negative impact on my stay and overall impression of the hotel. I find this situation extremely disappointing and frankly inconsistent with the reputation and standards your brand claims to uphold. I would appreciate it if management could review this matter seriously and provide a clear and appropriate resolution."

"Oak Bay Beach Hotel is an excellent place to stay. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, which made the experience comfortable and relaxing. The staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to help, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. Overall, the high standard of hygiene and the great service really stood out."

"The room wasn't large, but it had a kettle. There was a bar upstairs. The room wasn't very soundproof, and it was quite far from the city center. They sent an email before check-in requesting a $1 charge to my credit card, but then charged me another CAD cent at the front desk. I don't understand the point of Canadian hotels deducting from your credit card and then refunding it."

"We stayed as a couple at Sandman Hotel Victoria for four nights over the Christmas holidays. The hotel looks fresh and modern, as if recently renovated, and was very affordable for Victoria given the season. Amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub, and gym, and the gym is particularly well equipped for a hotel in this price range. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to use the pool or hot tub as they were consistently crowded, and at one point two guests appeared to have poured soapy products into the hot tub, effectively turning it into their own bubble bath, which was unpleasant, and staff did not seem to address it. Another downside was housekeeping: daily service is not provided by default and must be requested each morning, which was not explained at check-in. When we did request housekeeping, towels were replaced and the bed was made, but toiletries such as soap and toilet paper were not replenished and had to be requested separately. Overall, good value and a fresh property, but housekeeping practices and monitoring of shared amenities could be improved."

"Very clean, the beach is very convenient for walking, the sea view is also good, that is, if you drive a large off-road vehicle, the hotel's parking lot can't stop, you have to stop in the public parking lot that is a distance from the hotel, the overall feeling is good."

"This hotel is in a great location making it easy to explore Beacon Hill, the inner harbour, Government Street and all the other sights of Victoria. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Leisure facilities were also of a high standard. "

"It’s such a fabulous hotel! The location is perfect — very convenient for visiting all the main attractions. The staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again next time I’m in Victoria."

"Our family stayed at the night on the last day of Labour Day long weekend, so we felt less busy. It’s a good stay for going to Botanical Beach at Port Renfrew. The Ella beach nearby is awesome for sunset. The room is spacious for four of us. We are happy to see lots tiny fishes and 6 seals playing in the hotel private harbour. We did not use the hotel pool coz it looks not so clean. However we enjoyed the complimentary 1 hr tandem kayak very much. See lots wild lives."
