"What an incredible stay! We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about Zuri. Starting from the staff - everybody was super nice, helpful and smiley. They even had a thermometer for us to buy when we needed one! The transport was waiting for us at the airport (paid 300php/person one way). The room and bathroom was really spacious and spotless. There’s plenty of space for the clothes and stuff in the bathroom. The room also has a fridge, kettle with coffee/tea choices as well as bathroom alimentaries. The resort area is amazing. The resort is places by the hill a bit away from the town, facing the sea and Coron island. It has 3 pools + 1 kiddie pool, a pool bar, cafe, restaurant, shop, ATM and more. It’s surrounded by greens. You can truly rest there. The breakfasts there were exceptional! Lots of choice, different food both western and Asian. There was also barbecue in the evenings, very tasty as well. We loved it!
The only minor downsides:
- you can’t really control the AC, there’s no remote, you can have it set to fan or cool and set the power 1-10
- there is no reception in the room
- there are not many power outlets in the room"

"Great hotel. It's a really big hotel too. Everything you need is here. A short 10 min motorcycle ride to town, the hotel organised the motorcycle rental very easily. Good wifi and a few pool areas are here. Keep in mind if you're using smart as your cell provider there is no service here but I think that's the case for everywhere outside of the town.
When you land at the airport they have staff there to organise transport without even having to tell them which was a nice touch. I would stay here again without hesitation"

"Filipino hospitality is second to none. The people are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. So what makes the staff at the Funny Lion so special. Well, they simply go that extra mile.
On our first morning, we almost missed breakfast, but fortunately the staff noticed we hadn’t been in and gave us a call to remind us the breakfast room would be closing soon.
When they heard we had an early morning tour the next day, they checked we were OK for breakfast, they reminded us to pick up some beach towels (we had forgotten) and checked we had everything we needed.
The hotel itself is also nice with two restaurants and a rooftop bar. The main restaurant does a buffet on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There’s a fair range of food, but I thought there could have been a few more Filipino dishes to try. The Mexican restaurant was also OK. The starters were very tasty especially the ceviche type dishes. The mains weren’t bad but it would have been even better had the dishes been a bit more varied. The rooftop bar was probably my favourite of the three. You can lay in one of the two the mini jacuzzi-type pools and sip a cocktail while watching the sun set. It’s worth taking advantage of their happy hour (5-7pm) where they do a BOGOF on their signature cocktails (very good) or 4 beers for the price of 3. Their pizzas in the bar are pretty decent too. They are individual pizzas so if you’re hungry one might not be enough.
As for the room, it was OK. I think we should have paid a little more and gone for a better room, but it was fine. It was pretty standard with a mini-bar, TV , air-con and safe. The nice thing was the freshly cooked biscuits they would leave us every day. Those, the lovely welcome and departure gifts plus the truly excellent service makes the Funny Lion a hotel I would most definitely recommend."

"We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and 3 nights and it was worth the money. The room was spacious and clean. Hot and cold shower was available. The staffs were very kind and accommodating to our needs. I was able to work for 1 night with their internet even if it was just around 8mbps but there will be times the internet will be out. If you get the other side of the hotel, you will get an amazing view of the mountain. Only downside of our stay was that my husband got diarrhea on the last day of our stay, it could be from the boat tours or may be from the hotel buffet since I was not able to eat some of the meals there while my husband did. But overall, the hotel stay was great! Hopefully Palawan solves this ongoing “diarrheic outbreak”. We were able to visit Puerto Princesa and El Nido before but never had the experience getting sick."

"I stayed there 5 nights. The front staff was very kind and friendly. The restaurant was good. I like the atmosphere.
I could ask to keep my beer on their fridge as I didn't have it at my room.
Speaking of my room, it was specious but a bit difficult to reach because I need to climb many stairs. However, if I need a hair dryer, I could ask the staff through ” what's up”, which was really convenient for me. Thank you Camila and one another ready."

"I had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at this resort. From the moment I arrived, everything felt welcoming and effortless. I was greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, check-in was seamless, and my bags were taken straight to my room which made the arrival feel extra special.
The room itself was spacious and very clean. I was pleasantly surprised with welcome chocolates and brownies, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room was fully equipped with everything you’d need: bottled water, a hairdryer, toiletries, a coffee station, and a fridge stocked with drinks and snacks for purchase. It felt comfortable and well-prepared for guests.
One thing that really impressed me was the laundry service. They had my clothes washed and returned within three hours, which was incredibly convenient and efficient.
The pool area is absolutely stunning and very clean. They have three restaurants on site, which gives great variety. I ordered poolside nachos with a carrot and apple drink and it was delicious. Breakfast is a proper buffet, leaning toward a full English-style spread with plenty of options.
That said, I do think the bathroom could use a bit of attention. Water leaked through the shower door when showering, the shower head could benefit from a deep clean, and I noticed a few drain flies. It didn’t ruin my stay, but it’s an area that could definitely be improved.
I also experienced a small issue at checkout. They were unable to provide change when I was settling my bill, which delayed things. There were only two staff members assisting with checkout, and although I was scheduled to leave at 6:00am with a breakfast pack, I only managed to leave at 6:30am and unfortunately without the breakfast.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay. The resort is beautiful, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing. With a little more attention to bathroom maintenance and smoother early-morning checkout coordination, it would be close to perfect. I would still happily return."

"Shame about the maintenance management. For two days the swimming pool - one of reasons why we booked the hotel - smelled strongly of paint and the water had a greasy film of noxious smelling chemicals over its surface. The perimeter was being painted but no notice was given and no signage was put up after the work had finished but the chemicals were still evaporating so people were going in without realising for the next 24 hours. The hotel should had offered everyone the alternative of swimming at their sister hotel across the road. We happened to know about this and requested it on the first day but it should have been a standard offer to all other guests. Despite having had it subsequently arranged by both sets of management for us, reception at the sister hotel were unaware and initially told us that temporary usage despite the arrangement and special circumstances was not allowed. By the second day, we didn’t fit in a swim at all because it was too much hassle. This attitude shows the hotel management isn’t really looking after its guests properly and is letting down its guests and its staff who otherwise worked hard to make guests comfortable."

"This isn't a bad hotel for 1-2 nights, but I think it's overpriced. The grounds are small, there's a pool, and the breakfasts are modest. We stayed for one night because our preferred hotel, Coron Westown Resort, had no vacancies. The room was decent and spacious."

"So-so. As soon as we arrived, we were checked into a ground-floor room with a view of a wall – just a concrete wall, no light at all. We immediately asked to be moved, and the woman at reception said that's the room we booked! I opened my booking on my phone and showed her we'd reserved a room on floors 2-4. Only then, with a very displeased look, did she offer us a room on the third floor with a view of a hillside where roosters and locals live in makeshift shacks. It's a shame that neither the room descriptions nor reviews mentioned anything about the location of the standard rooms; otherwise, we would have paid an extra 2k for a room with a balcony.
The air conditioning was EXTREMELY loud, creaking and buzzing so much that we had to sleep with earplugs. The bathroom smelled putrid; you couldn't stay in there for long. The safe stopped working twice because the batteries died. They replaced them twice, and they only lasted half a day. After that, we just gave up and hid everything in our suitcases. Toothbrushes were never replenished.
Breakfasts were also very meager. Food is served once, meaning that once a dish is empty, it stays empty until the end of breakfast. If you didn't manage to get some, you're out of luck for the day. Fruits and muffins disappear the fastest. On the first day, we arrived an hour before breakfast ended, and there were no fruits left at all.
There are only 8 sun loungers by the pool for the entire hotel, so naturally, there were absolutely no spots available. The pool isn't cleaned either; in the area where the sun hits it most of the day, the water at the bottom is murky.
The only positives are the location and relative cleanliness (the bed linen was clean, and the plumbing too). Upstairs, there's a beautiful restaurant with views of the entire bay and city. The waiters are very friendly, and the food is decent, especially compared to what we ate in town, and it's relatively inexpensive."

Let me start with the bad parts. The facilities are too old. The bamboo room is not soundproof. The sea view is not vast and there are mountains around. There are many mosquitoes. The swimming pool is very small. There are many colorful lights installed in a very ”medieval” style. The attitude of the waiters is also a little inferior.
The good places are affordable! The food is not bad. The semi-buffet breakfast is delicious (the picture shows breakfast). There are many choices of international styles for dinner! At night, you can see flocks of birds returning to their nests at the sunset at the pier bar, which is very romantic!

KKaliannaThe resort was on an isolated island. Took 20-min car ride from the airport and 45-min boat ride from the port to the island. Our room was supposed to be ocean view, just right behind the sunrise villas. Unfortunately, the trees have grown high & hardly can we see the ocean. So best to go to the beach and enjoy the sceneries there. Not worth paying extra, unless it's sunset villa. Breakfast was acceptable, but in-room dining service need improvement. Especially, the cleaning up part. The swimming pool is under maintenance and I thought seafood & sashimi would be good, but nope, which is a bit extra disappointing. However, the general experience was good since the staffs are very nice and polite. We received different types of local snacks daily and turned out the kitchen made Filipinos food better than international ones. For morning hiking to Eagle Point, it's not really worth it, unless you have a drone to have 360-degree view. Intended to rate 3.8/5, but I got to see the sea turtle so 4/5 ~

The staff is fantastic, especially the reception team: incredibly friendly, always ready to help, and full of great recommendations for restaurants and activities. Big thanks to them for that!
The restaurant service is good, but the food was underwhelming—breakfasts were quite basic. Only a few dishes on the menu were tasty; the rest need improvement. They should really revamp their offerings.
The rooms are spotless, and housekeeping does an excellent job. The pool looks beautiful and well-maintained, but there’s an issue with unpleasant odors from the port, which sometimes makes swimming less appealing. The gym is poorly equipped—it could use more machines or at least an Olympic bar.

Very quiet at night and dayover only some boats passing at a good distance.
The restaurant is OK with place for improvement.
Fishh-Sinigang and grilled fish are delicious. The personell is very gentle, kiind and attentive. They are trying to improve and learn everyday.

GGiorgiabgulReally nice resort only 10min away from the port by Tuc Tuc. The room very clean and with all the essentials for the staying. My room wasn’t exactly view on the pool as expected so I would have to say a little bit overpriced. Nice breakfast. They arranged me an half day tour of the main spots in Coron and they were really flexible. The only thing that often happens to me travelling solo is that at pool bar for lunch I asked half portion of a serving because it was meant to be for 2/3 people (in the Philippines they often have family sharing portions) but they said it wasn’t possible that they could serve me half portion but the price would’ve been the same and I found that annoying. Other than that they offer shuttle bus to the airport and everything else was as good as in the pictures!

A great quiet place to rest in this town of Coron.
Bravo also for the cooking, the cooking is excellent !!
On the negative side, excursions to the islands are more expensive than in town ...

GGuest UserOverall, average hotel. I was disappointed and wouldn’t stay here again.
Room: stayed 5 nights. The room has a mold smell upon entering that persisted even with the bathroom door closed. The toilet also flushed very slow and sometimes required 2 flushes. Room was spacious, and otherwise quite clean and comfortable. Quite dated and furniture had lots of dings/scratches which doesn’t really matter.
Staff: I always try to be friendly to service workers because I know their work is hard. The staff I encountered seemed grossly disinterested. On the day of check in, I asked for some water (as I had to wait a few hours till check in), and was asked to pay 65 php for a bottle, but I witnessed another guest receive one for free. Not sure what happened. Also had some communication issues regarding laundry that I had done with the hotel. Perhaps the staff is overworked.. I didn’t experience the friendliness that other reviewers speak of.
I do want to shout out Mou, the activities/tour coordinator! She was very friendly, and helpful in planning my activities. She helped address an issue I encountered with my tour very promptly and efficiently. Thank you Mou!
Also thank you to the security guards who helped me call tricycles!
I wouldn’t stay here again, nor would I recommend anyone to stay here.
Suggestions: I think communication needs to be improved. If a staff member is busy, it is OK for them to let the guest know that it will be a moment. Would also recommend addressing the mold smell in room 320.

GGuest UserThe hotel was a bit far from town but always had tuktuks outside available to take you in. The pool was picturesque but the water a bit dirty as it's not a filter system. Still really fun to hang out by the pool! They had a Christmas Eve feast including a lechon roast and all of the food was amazing. The pool bar is cool, but they had run out of a lot of items during the Christmas holidays. They also had no scooters or motorbikes available to rent (again, holidays). I'd recommend!
