Hotels in Dongao Island, Zhuhai

While there are quite a few 5-star hotel options on the island, we chose Gree Dong'ao primarily for its beach. The room was really spacious, and the ocean view from our room was beautiful. It even had a bathtub. Although the facilities were a bit dated, they were well-maintained. Despite being right by the sea, you could barely hear the waves, making it very quiet. The service was excellent. A butler called me as soon as I booked the room, and they even provided complimentary children's toiletries and slippers. Our butler, Hua Bing, also kindly offered us sand digging tools. Every staff member we encountered was very polite. There were occasional performances in the lobby, and my child was thrilled to get a balloon. Upon arrival at the pier, a hotel shuttle picked us up and took us to the hotel. The only minor issue was that there were many people checking in, so we had to queue up. The hotel has a strong resort feel, with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, both featuring kids' pools, a gym, a hot spring, a small ball pit, a space sand area, and LEGO tables. It’s perfect for playing indoors when the sun is too strong outside. The hotel's buffet breakfast and dinner were very rich and comprehensive. The mini hot pot was especially great for those of us who don't eat raw food but still want to try seafood. We absolutely indulged in the salmon and tuna! 😂 Directly below the hotel, a short walk takes you to the beach. Because the beach is fenced off, you have to walk a little further to get into the water, and you can only swim within the designated area. Lifeguards and announcements keep a constant watch. The beach has sun umbrellas and seats, but it's still very sunny even with them. The sand on the beach is white and quite fine, probably the best on the island (though I have to admit it's not as good as Xunliao Bay's sand). The sea water was also very clean. On a sunny day, it's incredibly picturesque (though very hot!). We originally booked for two days, but due to a temporary suspension of ferry services, we had to check out a day early. Trip.com helped coordinate and refunded us for one night's stay.

We upgraded to a Premium Ocean View Suite. The room faced the ocean, which was lovely. The hotel's facilities and service were very thoughtful. Our butler, Colin, was very attentive. I recommend it, not Guangzi! It came with souvenirs and a goodnight dessert. The Begonia restaurant was also delicious.

We happened to arrive during a rain spell, and I thought we'd be cooped up in the room for three days. To my pleasant surprise, though, the very next day was gloriously sunny! What luck! The room itself was decent enough. My only minor complaint was the infrared sensor, which frequently turned off the lights automatically – a bit annoying. We requested a dehumidifier from room service, which quickly sorted out the humidity issue. Our room offered an expansive view of the endless ocean. The food, however, was a bit of a letdown – quite bland, to be honest, haha. I do hope the restaurant considers adding more local specialties to their menu. Our children absolutely loved the kids' club and the pool; they had so much fun they didn't want to leave! I heard that the Haitao area isn't fully developed yet. Hopefully, it will be complete by our next visit. Unfortunately, a typhoon had passed through two days before our arrival, washing a lot of trash ashore. It hadn't been fully cleared yet, and there were sharp objects like broken glass, so I'd strongly advise both kids and adults to wear shoes if they plan to walk on the beach. Definitely take the island tour if you get the chance! Time truly felt like it stood still there. I'm sure a week-long stay here would be utterly blissful. This time I booked a family room. I was very satisfied with the room. The balcony had a view of the sea, and the hotel service was very thoughtful. When I left the hotel, I was given a seasickness patch. There was a butler from the time I set off to the time I left the hotel. The concierge Feng Junhui was always online and answered questions quickly. The front desk staff was very polite and considerate. The hotel can share facilities with another hotel in Nansha Bay, and there is a bonfire party with a rich program.

The Dong'ao Island Mountaintop B&B I stayed in this time really gave me a big surprise! Although the B&B has been open for 21 years and has been baptized by typhoons and sea breezes for many years, the appearance is slightly vicissitudes, but the environment is absolutely first-class - it has an unbeatable sea view, a large garden, and a night view of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which is so beautiful that it makes people forget their fatigue! The sanitation of the guest rooms is very clean among the B&Bs on the island. Although it is not as good as the standard of a five-star hotel, the bedding is neat and the facilities are complete, making it very comfortable to live. The most added point is the front desk service. After booking, I immediately received a call to confirm the pick-up time. The whole process was warm and thoughtful, and the response was super timely, which made people feel particularly at ease. In terms of transportation, the sightseeing bus station is right at the door of the B&B (the cheapest route on the island, 10 yuan/person). Although travel on the island is not convenient, the location here is already very friendly. Comprehensive environment, service, and cost-effectiveness, this B&B is definitely a treasure choice for Dong'ao Island, highly recommended!

The sanitary environment is full, the room is spotless; the facilities are brand new and complete, all of which are big brands; the room is medium in size, and there is a small balcony that can be ventilated and dried; the landlord and his wife are warm and thoughtful, all nearby islanders, and the hotel is also very close to the pier. The only downside is that there is a problem that there will be air conditioning in the bed and the blade needs to be manually adjusted. Friends and relatives will be recommended to help, thank the landlord for his hard work, I wish the business is booming 👍👍

其實這個位置的話，它你那個接駁車哦，不對，不對，你那個港口的船是挺近的，距離不遠，很方便，但是可能因為我們訂的特價房把房間就一般一般嗯不過是這樣的，民宿的房東那服務態度比較好，他會給你地圖告訴你可以去看日出，可以去哪裡哪裡玩。怎麼樣的？然後退房的時間呢，因為我們買那個船票有誤，然後也跟他協商了一下時間，他也沒有催着趕我們走，也挺不錯的。

The location of the homestay is very good, eating, drinking and playing are near the pier, travel is super convenient, the room style is simple and safe, the stay is very comfortable, the service is also very thoughtful, let me feel hospitable and kind 👍

I arrived early and wanted to check in early, but the room was not ready yet. The boss speeded up the cleaning and did it himself, which was very helpful. There is a super large projector in the room, and it is very enjoyable to watch a movie at night. There is a lemon tea shop with a good environment on the right side when you go out, with an unparalleled view of the sea. The place to eat is also very close. After buying seafood, go to the restaurant recommended by the boss for processing. The taste is very good.

First time to Dong'ao Island! The scenery is so charming and beautiful. I chose to stay at the inn this trip. I saw the evaluation of this inn. It was quite good. I didn't disappoint me when I booked it! Clean and tidy, the room equipment is simple, but the bedding is very comfortable! Will come back next time and continue to book their home.
