It's been half a month since I returned from Aomori, and I'm just now getting around to writing this hotel review. This is my second time choosing a 'Daiwa' brand hotel; my previous experience at the Kyoto Station location was so-so, but the Aomori branch was generally quite good. Here are my specific thoughts:
**I. Pros**
1. **Convenient Location:** The hotel is situated in the central area near JR Aomori Station. From the station's East Exit, walk straight along the main road where Toyoko Inn is located for about 6-7 minutes, and you'll reach it. Nearby attractions such as the Tourist Museum (the PAM PAM apple pie inside is a bit sweet but has a very crispy crust), Nebuta House, A-Factory, and Hirota Shrine are all within walking distance.
2. **Abundant Dining Options Nearby:** There are many restaurants along the way to the hotel, including Aomori Shokudo, which often has a queue. I tried the scallops when they opened in the afternoon, and they were fresh and delicious. The Aomori Seafood Market, about an 8-minute walk from the hotel, is also highly recommended. Go early in the morning to experience the locals' 'seafood freedom'.
3. **Smooth Check-in Experience:** The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and there's a Lawson convenience store downstairs. Guests can directly access the lobby through the store using their room card. I checked in around noon; although there were self-check-in machines, a staff member proactively assisted with manual check-in. They were enthusiastic and accommodating, fulfilling my request for a higher floor. Disposable toiletries, including facial cleanser, toner, lotion, toothbrush sets, and tea bags, were available for self-service next to the front desk. The toner had a nice texture.
4. **Well-equipped Guest Room:** My room was on the 14th (top) floor. Although small, it was fully functional with an expansive window view. The bathroom was spacious with a wet/dry separation and no steps between it and the bedroom, preventing tripping hazards. The bath amenities felt good, but the conditioner had a slight urea-like scent.
5. **Thorough Cleaning and Service:** I stayed for three consecutive nights. Each day, after I hung out the 'Please clean my room' sign, I returned to a clean and tidy room. The room provided two pillows of different heights, and the bedding had no noticeable disinfectant smell. A complimentary bottle of drinking water was provided daily, a thoughtful touch.
6. **Corridor Signage:** There was a sign in the corridor indicating that guests could activate TV channels.
**II. Areas for Improvement**
1. **Small Room Size:** My 28-inch suitcase couldn't be fully opened on the luggage rack without blocking the walkway.
2. **Lack of Hanging Space in Bathroom:** After the wet/dry separation, there was no place to hang clothes. Washed clothes at night had to be hung on the indoor drying rack, and water drops could easily fall onto the carpet.
3. **Central Air Conditioning Limitations:** In April, the central air conditioning only offered heating mode, with no option for cooling. This was a minor inconvenience for guests who wanted ventilation or to cool down.
**Overall Rating:** The hotel has a high rating, and my overall experience was good. It's highly recommended. If I visit Aomori again, I would still consider staying here.

Very convenient location, only 4 mins walk to Aomori station. Walkable to nearby attractions like A factory, Nebuta museum etc and Gyosai seafood market is just around the corner for fresh sashimi. Room size is good and clean. Overall experience with hotel staff is great except for the one lady encountered at check in, who had zero smile and cold attitude, quite rare in Japan. Despite that, would still highly recommend this hotel
Best hotel i happened to stay in Japan so far!
Staff is very nice, lobby cafe is cozy and comfortable (and has microwave and water supply), breakfast has many options including daily smoothie (delicious!)
Room is clean, and i was lucky to have a nice view😍
Very close to the station, like 3 min walk
Definitely could recommend it for your stay in Hachinohe
Location: About a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station, right on the main street, so it's very easy to find. The decor isn't brand new, but it's very well-maintained.
Service: The front desk and restaurant staff were all very warm and friendly. My experience from check-in to check-out was quite good. This hotel brand offers complimentary late-night ramen, popsicles after a hot spring bath, and Yakult in the morning. This Aomori branch also had self-serve apple juice and coffee next to the front desk, which was a nice touch.
Facilities: My room was windowless, which felt a bit overpriced for the off-peak season. However, their rooftop onsen (hot spring) is excellent. The onsen floor has Nebuta festival decorations, and the indoor and outdoor areas combined are quite spacious. There's also a sauna.
Great family room, four of us have four beds, although there is a short distance before the car, about 20~ 30 minutes, it is worth it, the room is very clean, the space is also very large, there is a big bathtub inside to soak in the hot springs, you can relax, very comfortable room.
The hotel is located on a street right next to Bahnhofstrasse, about a five-minute walk from the train station. We opted for a newly renovated deluxe twin room, and all the facilities were brand new, with a decent amount of space. The lobby offers complimentary coffee, and the guest room also came with free biscuits and apple juice. Plus, there's a charger and a variety of toiletries in the room, which was a thoughtful touch.

Very good. Iron is available and can be collected from reception area. Everywhere is near. Good room space. Although when we switch on the aircond its blowing hot air. Lucky that the weather and wind at night is cooler so we decided to open the window for cool air to the room. Happy for the opportunity to stay at this hotel in aomori.
Lake Towada in winter doesn't have many attractions; abandoned houses are everywhere, giving it a somewhat desolate feel… The hotel facilities are good, providing travel-sized shampoo, shower gel, and skincare products. The rooms also have hot and cold water dispensers (very convenient for making instant noodles). The public bath is only indoors, there's no open-air bath. The rooms are clean, suggesting recent renovations.
The worst part was the dinner. Dinner was at the hotel's sushi restaurant, but the entire meal consisted of only one appetizer (a very small dish), one miso soup, and 10 pieces of sushi. Even for women with small appetites, it wasn't enough. There aren't any convenience stores in the surrounding lake area, so if you get hungry at night, you can only buy frozen food from the hotel's vending machines, but the prices aren't cheap at all… Although the hotel provides each guest with a mini instant noodle for a late-night snack, that mini instant noodle is truly tiny; I bet it would only last three bites!
Therefore, I strongly advise everyone staying at this hotel to bring your own food.
We were two people. The room we stayed at was not big. If you have two suitcases it will be hard to open up both of them at the same time. We didn’t have suitcases, and therefore the space was not a problem for us. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I lost my gloves at a bus, and they helped me to get them back. You also got apple juice as a welcome drink at the front desk (very nice apple juice!). We used baggage storage after checking out, which was no problem. The room was very clean. When we were there they had an eco plan, which was that the room got cleaned only once at our 4 night stay, but could get towels whenever we wanted. We though it was good from the environment perspective (but we decided to not have any cleaning at all).
Overall I though our stay at this hotel was very good.

11381600****The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The Hakkoda Ropeway was canceled, and we were planning to take a public bus to Sukayu Onsen ourselves. When the staff learned of our plans, they proactively arranged a shuttle bus for us. We also found out about a snow hiking tour at Sukayu Onsen on Xiaohongshu and decided last minute to join it. A special thanks to the front desk attendant, OMA SAN, who helped us communicate with the hiking tour guide, allowing us to successfully join the tour and avoid any regrets on this trip.

LLiew爱旅游Overall, we were very satisfied with the hotel's facilities and service.
The standard room we stayed in was clean and hygienic, but the bed was a bit small. The soundproofing was not okay.
DDevThis hostel is conveniently located near Lake Towada. It can be easily accessed from the JR bus station. There is a convenience store at about 100 meters of distance from the hostel. The building is a bit outdated and the facilities look old. But please remember that this is a hostel and is affordable. The staff are extremely polite and welcoming. They have a big heart and serve with their full sincerity. When I reached the hostel early, there was nobody at the front desk, but there was a note for me with my room details. Later at night, When I mentioned that I do not eat meat, and I will manage with only rice, the lady, Ms. Tomoko quickly prepared fish without even thinking twice and asked me to pay very little. Even the next day she prepared cold noodles along with rice and charged extremely less. The point here is not the money but her big heart in serving without thinking about money or profit. I highly recommend this hostel purely by considering at the generosity and sweet, politeness of the staff there.
This hostel is conveniently located even to walk along Oirase gorge. Easier to stay here and take bus to either to the northern end - Yakeyama or the southern, lake side end Nenokuchi and walk along the gorge and return back to the hostel. This way the trip becomes affordable and easier.

AAngeloooThe room was spacious and comfortable. Even though it was a smoking room, the smell was still bearable, and I could open the window a little. There was a water dispenser by the elevator.
The parking is a mechanical system and costs 1000 yen per day. The hotel front desk is on the fifth floor, and the cheese bread from the bakery on the first floor is really good. This hotel didn't offer a late-night snack, and there was no apple juice available, which some reviews mentioned.
GGuest UserThe staff were very helpful and the facilities were clean, so I was very satisfied.
When I wanted to order at the hotel restaurant, it was inconvenient to have to call the staff verbally. They weren't always nearby, so
GGuest UserService was good. There was a staff who is stationed at the entrance, checking with guest who arrived by car. They will ask for your name, provided clear instructions of where to park. Unfortunately, I have accidentally left the lights in the car switched on. A few moments later when I was doing my check-in, the front desk staff quickly informed me about it. The facilities are good. Food is really good, very different from the other Hoshino resorts in Aomori that I have stayed. At KAI Tsugaru, it is Kaiseki instead of the usual buffet style. The staff took pains to explain and share the reason for each dish that was served. There are only 41 traditionally-furnished and generously-sized rooms offering both Western and Japanese-style designs which gives a very unique and dedicated experience as compared to other hotels which has many rooms.
