[Oyama Afuri Shrine/Tochigi Prefecture] A shrine of deep faith run by the Oyama sect of Ashikaga

Oyama Afuri Shrine in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 It is believed to have been founded by the Oyama Ko, a group of people living in Ashikaga who believed in Oyama Afuri Shrine in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The Oyama Ko itself spread throughout the Kanto region from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. Even now, there are statues of the gods of the Sui, which are said to have been donated by the Ashikaga Ko, on either side of the altar of Oyama Afuri Shrine. From Ashikaga Orihime Shrine, go through the wisteria trellis donated by Ashikaga Flower Park, and there are stone steps on the left. The shrine will come into view after climbing about 109 steps. On both sides of the shrine, there are stone monuments with Oyama Afuri Shrine engraved on them. It has a quiet feel to it, but it seems like the state it was in at the time when faith was strong has been well preserved.
