Traveling to Mount Aso in autumn, the air becomes crisp and the sky is clearer than in summer. Driving uphill along the mountain road, the distant mountain ridges are tinged with a pale gold, making the entire volcanic group appear even more serene and captivating. 🌾 Yonezaki: Soft Curves Under the Autumn Light Our first stop is Yonezaki. The autumn grasslands gradually transform into a tapestry of gold and green, the sunlight illuminating the rounded mountain shape, making it resemble a golden hill. A cool breeze is incredibly pleasant; standing on the observation deck looking at this charming little volcano, my heart softens. 🍁 Kusasenri: The Earth Gently Sweeped by the Autumn Wind The most beautiful aspect of Kusasenri in autumn is the light, refreshing highland breeze. The grassland colors begin to warm, with a touch of gold that contrasts beautifully with the distant Aso Five Peaks. Horses graze leisurely on the grass, the autumn scenery along the trails serene and harmonious. We strolled along the lakeside; the autumn breeze was cool but not cold, refreshing and invigorating, as if blowing away all our worries. 🌋 Aso Crater: Steaming Earth Reflected in the Autumn Sky Next, we headed to the Aso Nakadake Crater. The autumn air was clearer, and the view more expansive, with sulfurous fumes contrasting sharply with the azure sky. The turquoise fumarole lake in the crater shimmered in the sunlight, white smoke continuously rising from the surface; experiencing the power of the earth up close always takes your breath away. Standing in the autumn wind, looking at this desolate yet magnificent landscape, my heart was filled with awe and emotion. ⸻ 🍂 Summary: Autumn in Aso is the perfect romance.
