Mahabut Temple (Mae Nak Phra Khanong)

Wat Mahabut or Wat Mae Nak is another famous temple in Bangkok. It is quite easy to get to, but to be honest, I haven’t been here in over a decade, even though I live in this area. This time, for some reason, after leaving the coffee shop, I was wondering where to go next, so I turned onto On Nut Road and stopped by this temple without intending to. The temple looks very different from before. It looks much more spacious and bigger. Before, the Mae Nak pavilion was just a simple low wooden house by the water. Now it looks much better. I went to pay my respects and ask for blessings and fortune. However, I tried my luck with the fortune sticks, so I missed Wat Mahabut, or as it is known, Wat Mae Nak Phra Khanong. The temple is spacious and has a lot of parking space, but it still doesn’t seem to be enough for the number of people who come to pay their respects and ask for blessings from Mae Nak Phra Khanong. Inside the temple, there are places to pay respects and make merit, including Thao Wessuwan, Phra Rahu, Phra Chao Tan Jai. However, the highlight of the temple is to come and ask for blessings from Ya Nak, both in terms of love, money, and some people come to ask for blessings about being drafted into the military. And the last stop is to make merit by releasing fish.
